Shades is a racial justice and faith project that supports schools and churches to be a place of belonging and flourishing for everyone. The project’s activities enable schools and churches to create a safe space for dialogue and learning, empowering children, young people and adults to celebrate diversity, champion difference and put love into action as modelled through the life of Jesus.

The project aims to develop discipleship pathways for children, young people and their families, enabling them to grow in their Christian faith and to belong to a thriving church community. 

In response to the exciting growth of the Shades Project, they are looking to appoint three Shades Schools Worker to support the growing opportunities for Christian discipleship, and to embed the Shades ethos in primary and secondary schools and parishes across their diocese.

Experience of working within a racial justice context, although desirable is not essential, given the wide range of training and development opportunities provided.

thrivin’ together is a UK women-only organisation led by lived experience of gambling. We offer space and time to women who actively gamble, are in gambling recovery or are impacted by someone else’s gambling. Set up as a CIC in July 2022 we have consulted with our community and co-produced support and activities for women to support a recovery with dignity, not apology.

Our approach is choice, voice and change and we seek to inspire and instil hope, ensuring that no woman in the UK impacted by gambling feels alone. We provide one to one support, group support and activities, access to counselling and Helping Hand evoucher payments. We involve our women, and they shape what we do. Currently all our work is online.

In this important role, you will manage our team to empower women by delivering responsive care, activities and support. The role will directly line manage our team through supervisions and fortnightly team meetings including the monitoring and reporting of progress and wellbeing. The role will ensure day to day administrative and operational processes are up to date and run smoothly.

The Project Manager will lead on our quarterly Advisory Board and Professional’s Network meetings and coordinate workshops and activities in collaboration with our team. The role will take responsibility as a Safeguarding Lead and will ensure policies are up to date with support from our Directors and Administrator.

Administration tasks, promoting the organisation and developing partnerships (within gambling recovery and beyond) are expectations of this role.

We train volunteers to use games and other creative activities in primary schools in one-to-one sessions with children to help them gain confidence and skills in maths. Founded in 2018, we have already helped over 1,500 children. We now have 115 volunteers running weekly sessions. This year they are helping 334 children in 38 partner schools across London, and we plan to continue to grow organically every year to support more children.

Our vision is not just that we grow in scale, but that through our example other organisations copy our model, and that eventually all primary school children will have access to volunteer support in maths.

CEO role

The CEO will be a new permanent role, reporting to our founder Chair and to the board of trustees. You will take on all aspects of managing our award-winning charity and drive the board process of setting and delivering strategy. This will include financial management of the charity and involvement in fundraising. This is in the context of our succession plan, whereby our Chair will hand over the executive responsibilities which he currently exercises on a pro bono basis. This is to allow us to recruit a new Chair within two years.

You will line manage the Head of Operations - our current senior employee, who manages our other two staff. The role will be part time for the equivalent of 3 days a week.

Location

You will work mainly remotely, although you will be expected to attend periodic meetings in London. We therefore require candidates to live within commuting distance of Central London, giving maximum flexibility for both the employee and the charity.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic practitioner who shares the ambitions and values of both The Children's Society, our partners, and BBC Children in Need to work directly with children aged 8-13 and their families where appropriate. We're looking for someone who has excellent relational skills and who is familiar with ways of engaging younger children and their families specifically in relation to improving children's emotional health and wellbeing.

The funding is going to create a early support programme which will support children aged 8 - 13 years-old across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland with a strong focus on those children and families who are not represented in emotional health and well being and mental health services. Our ambition is to support children and their families as early as possible to help prevent children developing and experiencing and mental health difficulties as they become teenagers.

The programme will offer one-to-one time-limited wellbeing interventions to children and their families. We will utilise solution-focussed approaches to provide children and their families with a toolbox of strategies to help support the child's emotional health and wellbeing and manage their feelings. The direct work with children and families will be supported by digital interventions, through the use of our own wellbeing site “Me Time”.

The role will be responsible for holding an agreed caseload of children who are struggling with their emotional health and wellbeing, working alongside other agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes and recording the impact you've been able to make on children's lives. You will also utilise The Children's Society digital offer as part of this programme.

Overall job purpose

This is a fundamental role within our North regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer. The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 23 historic churches across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, W. Yorkshire, N. Yorkshire (part), ensuring each site achieves agreed standards.

Key relationships

You will work closely with the Lead Local Community Officer (North), regional and national colleagues, volunteers, community groups and other local stakeholders.

As an Events Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for the entire event lifecycle, from initial planning to post-event evaluation. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of fundraising events, including venue selection, logistics, budgeting, and marketing.  
• Managing event timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships to ensure seamless execution and cost-effectiveness.  
• Developing and implementing strategies to maximise event attendance and fundraising revenue.
• Ensuring all fundraising aligns with our charitable aims, fundraising approach and missional pillars (Souls, Israel, Revival).

Key responsibilities:

Income Generation

• Drive online income generation through effective use of digital fundraising platforms, social media, and supporter journeys.
• Optimise and manage digital giving platforms, such as Funraisin, to increase donations and supporter engagement.
• Expand and enhance peer-to-peer fundraising, ensuring fundraisers have the tools and motivation to maximise income.

Digital & Social Media

• Increase digital reach and visibility, making sure fundraising messages are seen and acted upon.
• Leverage social media fundraising tools, such as Elovate (CommittedGiving), to improve donor retention and engagement.
• Use AI-powered tools to streamline prospect research, automate content personalisation, and optimise donor engagement.
• Develop and execute strategies to convert social media and website visitors into long-term donors.

Support & Collaboration

• Provide guidance and digital tools to e-volunteers and fundraising champions, enabling them to spread AvMA’s fundraising messages and attract donations.
• Analyse and report on digital fundraising performance, using insights to refine strategy and improve return on investment.
• Contribute to digital income diversification, exploring new revenue-generating opportunities such as online retail or supporter-driven fundraising products (e-commerce experience desirable).
