About the role:
As a Recruitment/HR Administrator, you will be joining a small dedicated Recruitment team providing an effective and efficient recruitment service to meet the organisation’s resourcing and staffing needs. You will be the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries and requests to the team; providing a high level of customer service throughout the recruitment cycle.
You will also be responsible for carrying out the administrative tasks for the recruitment and on-boarding of new staff and ensuring that our recruitment processes, continue to adhere to best practice, equality, fairness and relevant employment legislation. You will also be involved in the wider HR team's Projects on EDI and organisational changes, this will include designing and delivering training to hiring managers and wider SHP staff.
As an integral part of the HROD team you will have the opportunity to welcome new starters into the organisation with a positive attitude and insight into a flourishing career at SHP.
There is ample opportunity for the role to be worked from home, with an occasional need (e.g., 1-2 days per week) to attend our head office in King's Cross to facilitate interviews, attend team meetings and other business needs.
About you:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a busy office environment within HR and or recruitment with experience of working with and maintaining HR and Recruitment systems, including but not limited to ATS (applicant tracking system), payroll, HR and DBS services.
- A strong understanding of the key administrative tasks carried out within a recruitment process and of the legal requirements of the recruitment process and HR department.

We are seeking an Operations and Facilities Assistant to work closely with the Senior Operations & Facilities Manager to ensure the effective and efficient running of the organisation’s administrative systems and day to day activities.

About the Role
We are looking for someone who is proactive and efficient with an eye for detail, who has experience working with smaller organisations, and who has a flexible and can-do attitude. The primary responsibilities would be to assist with BHRC communications, events organisation, and project administration. An interest in human rights issues or international development would be of benefit. The position will be directly supervised by the Project Team, with oversight from the Vice Chair and respective office holders as required. You will be the primary point of contact for policy and campaigns enquiries received via email, phone, and post. This role involves monitoring and maintaining the policy and campaigns sections on our internal and external websites, as well as our social media channels. You will assist in drafting content for publications, online platforms, and promotional materials for events.
Managing and maintaining databases for contact management will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will support national and local campaigns and assist in planning and delivering campaigning events. Additionally, you will help organise communications for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on MND, involvement and advisory groups, and policy focus groups.

What are we looking for?
We seek an organised, proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for making a difference. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our campaigns reach and resonate with our audience, driving forward our mission to support those affected by MND.
Demonstratable campaigns experience is important. You should be adept at using digital and social media to promote campaigns and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, from senior politicians to local volunteers.
You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in writing for diverse audiences. Being a good team player is essential, as is the ability to plan and coordinate events. Strong computer skills, including database management, are required.
Flexibility is key, as occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary. You must also be able to travel to external meetings and events.
An understanding of health, social care, and welfare structures in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland is desirable, as is knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases like MND. Experience with digital campaigning software and parliamentary processes would be an advantage.

This will play a key role in carrying out a range of general health & safety room checks, cleaning, building maintenance and caretaking tasks. The role will report to and support the Facilities Manager in the delivery of planned, reactive maintenance and cleaning tasks.
The role will ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for residents, employees and visitors by providing a repairing, maintenance cleaning service in order to keep the various buildings and grounds to the highest standard, whilst minimising the need for external contractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To support daily, weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (fire alarm tests, water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.).
- Support Customer Services with planned room health & safety checks
- Support the delivery of first line response to reactive maintenance, cleaning and repairs.
- Minor building fabric spot cleaning, repairs, decorating tasks and plumbing repairs.
- Check of plant rooms and boilers for leaks and general condition
- Ensure equipment is well maintained, adequately stored and meets all safety requirements
- Ensure that all portable electrical appliances are tested as required
- Use a range of common hand and power tools to carry out your job as required
- Assist with inspection of the condition of the grounds, building and facilities
- General janitorial duties as requested.

- Maintain accurate digital documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
- Proactively walking the Communal Areas and all floors, reporting and following up on any health & safety, maintenance or cleaning issues
- Ensure the organisation’s Health and Safety procedures regarding Safety at Work are consistently implemented and followed.
- Contribute to Risk Assessment activities and implement appropriate actions.
- Monitor and liaise with Sub-Contractors ensuring good Health and Safety Practices are being carried out and quality of work is of high standard.
- Clear snow and grit paths during bad weather periods.
- Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Monitor and action tasks listed on in-house systems, in a timely manner, ensuring the key performance indicator requirements are in place.
