The charity’s board meetings are typically held in London, so applicants are likely to be living in the south of England. We are seeking a dynamic leader to provide strategic and operational leadership for our charity, ensuring high standards of governance and, where appropriate, clinical and care excellence. We are looking for an experienced and driven Direct Marketing Coordinator to support the Direct Marketing Managers in the delivery of our fundraising campaigns and development and managing our online shop. Our fundraising channels cover a number of channels including Direct Mail, Social Media, PPC, TM etc. While the role will be supporting the Direct Managers in delivery of the team’s objectives there is the opportunity to lead on projects and delivery of objectives for the right candidate.

Duties and key responsibilities

1. Trusts and Foundations 

• Act as the main point of contact for trusts and foundations supporting gifts under £10,000, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate support, materials, and updates to foster successful grant applications and long-term relationships.
• Identify and research new trusts and foundations whose funding priorities align with Sarcoma UK’s mission.
• Plan and coordinate the schedule of grant applications aligning with internal priorities and submission deadlines.
• Draft compelling grant applications, ensuring high-quality submissions, and coordinate the process of application tracking and reporting.
• Maintain the existing pipeline of trust fundraising activities in Raiser's Edge, monitoring progress and ensuring follow-up actions are taken.
• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with new and existing trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trusts and Foundations fundraising strategy.
• Work with the Research, Policy, and Support Services teams to arrange meetings between trust representatives and Sarcoma UK funded project leads, where appropriate.
• Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure that trust and foundation-related web pages are up-to-date and engaging.

2. Fundraising Support

Merchandise

• Manage stock by overseeing merchandise stock levels, liaising with suppliers, processing orders, and ensuring smooth fulfilment of orders.
• Manage Sarcoma UK’s online shop, ensuring it is regularly updated with accurate product listings and that orders are processed efficiently, meeting supporter expectations.

Administrative Support

• Provide general administrative support across all fundraising activities and projects as needed by the organisation.
• Produce regular reports on fundraising activities, including data from JustGiving, Enthuse, and GoFundMe, ensuring accurate tracking and evaluation.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the organisation, assisting with general administrative tasks and ensuring processes are followed consistently.
• Monitor, evaluate and analyse fundraising activities, providing insights to inform future strategies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on Sarcoma UK’s fundraising database (Raiser's Edge). 

Supporter Care

• Respond promptly and professionally to fundraising inquiries via post, email, and phone, offering support and guidance to donors and fundraisers.

General Fundraising Support

• Collaborate with the Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager to identify new prospects within Sarcoma UK’s supporter community.
• Work with the Communications team to identify and maximise publicity opportunities, raising awareness of Sarcoma UK’s fundraising efforts.
• Provide occasional support for Major Donor fundraising activities as needed.
• Stay up to date with the latest fundraising practices and trends ensuring Sarcoma UK’s processes and procedures align with best practices.

3. Other Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Sarcoma UK’s existing and potential supporters, including contacts within trusts and foundations.
• The role may require occasional travel to events and meetings across the UK, including some evening or weekend work, for which Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will be provided.
• Adapt to the evolving needs of Sarcoma UK, taking on additional duties and responsibilities as required.

About the role 
 

We are seeking a PR and Communications Manager to join our ambitious team. We know that incredible work goes on behind the scenes at Smart Works, and that what we do meaningfully helps to change the lives of thousands of women every year. But we need you to help us shout from the rooftops about our service and impact, actively seeking media opportunities and press coverage, to increase our public profile. Your work will make a real difference – spreading the Smart Works message not only to the women we exist to support, but fundraisers, referral partners, volunteers and the public too.  

Duties and responsibilities

1. You will amplify and lead existing integrated campaigns, including the Smart Works Unemployment Index, International Women’s Day and International Day of the Girl. With the support of the Digital Marketing Manager, Graphic Design Manager and Digital Communications Manager, you’ll ensure our campaigns are widely noticed and talked about, in the press, online and local community.
2. You will develop and manage media opportunities (proactive and reactive), including owning our press office, writing and distributing press releases, building relationships with journalists, tracking coverage, and briefing spokespeople. 
3. You will lead and develop our Client Champions programme and case studies, ensuring the client remains central to the charity’s external voice, proactively seeking opportunities to tell their stories to encourage support/donations from external communities, and managing any nationwide communication moments/events.
4. You will support our engagement with Patrons and Ambassadors, managing relationships where appropriate and seeking new advocates who can authentically help tell our story, to reach more people. 
5. You will lead the coordination of our internal communications calendar and reporting, working with internal stakeholders across Partnerships, Operations and our local centres to ensure that key moments are recognised, with support at a national level where appropriate.
6. You will support with other team tasks, such as social media scheduling and content creation.

If you have a solid understanding and experience of PR and campaign work, this is an incredible opportunity to use your expertise to change women’s lives.

The successful candidate will report to our Director of Communications and Marketing. The role has no line management responsibility but will work closely with colleagues – including our Digital Marketing Manager, Digital Communications Manager and Graphic Design Manager – so you should be used to collaborating with others, in a dynamic environment.

Channel management and reputation: you will manage daily content across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and other social platforms with a combined audience of nearly 800,000 followers.

Social media strategy: you will also be responsible for the development of social media strategy for key campaign activity, e.g. Great Daffodil Appeal, National Day of Reflection, and brand campaigns, as well as ensuring social media is integrated into wider communications and marketing plans.

Content creation: leading on content across our national channels, you will work with colleagues in the PR, Content and Creative teams to plan and develop daily content.

Budget management and paid activity: you will lead on our organic paid strategy, working closely with our Digital Marketing Manager, and liaise with external agency on a weekly basis to review and refine our approach. You are the budget holder for this activity, including decision making to optimise best performing content and to maximise reach and engagement.

Regional strategy: you will lead on our regional social media strategy reflecting our aim to become a place-based organisation, working with key stakeholders across the nations, to ensure our local presence is engaging, vibrant and complements our national activity.

An experienced social media expert to bring insight, passion, and talent to the organisation and team.

Experience of social-first content development, across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok, Linkedin and Youtube.

About the role

The P&C Administrative Assistant will be based in our London office (two days a week), sharing time between general HR administrative and general office support duties. The role will support the People & Culture function on general HR and administrative tasks. 

Roles and Responsibilities

Human Resources

• Monitoring shared P&C inbox, addressing enquires in a timely manner.
• Collecting and maintaining various HR trackers and databases.
• Providing administrative support for the recruitment process, posting job adverts, contacting candidates, scheduling job interviews and collecting recruitment related documentation.
• Assisting in the new joiner induction and on-boarding processes.
• Updating and maintaining staff records.
• Ensuring data is stored in line with principles of GDPR.
• Completing pre-employment checks, including reference, right to work, and vetting checks.
• Supporting the probationary process for new joiners (including scheduling meeting, distributing relevant documentation and collecting completed forms and feedback.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

General Administration:

• As part of onboarding, facilitate the induction process for new joiners in the London office, including:
• Issuing access passes
• Coordinating with the TSS team on new joiner equipment
• Facilitate the DSE assessment process
• Act as a Health & Safety Officer and Fire Safety Officer for the London Office.
• Any other duties of an administrative nature

Person Specification

Essential

• Degree or equivalent work experience

We are partnering with Tearfund on this new role, which will co-lead the Church and Supporter Engagement team.  This role, the Head of Church and Supporter Engagement (Churches), will focus on developing relationships with churches to maximise income and engagement.

Your responsibilities include achieving challenging annual fundraising targets, both cash income and regular giving, aligned with the UK fundraising strategy. You will work to ensure that all fundraising activity is aligned with Tearfund’s wider vision, mission, and brand identity.
