South East London Mind has been delivering a young person’s counselling service to students at Southwark College for several years.

As a Young People’s Counsellor, you’ll provide an age-appropriate counselling service that allows the students to explore their mental health and wellbeing, along with the socioeconomic factors that impact this. You’ll manage a caseload of students, triaging new clients to the service, coordinating the waiting list and capturing data and outcome measures on a CRM database.

We are looking for someone with a professionally-recognised diploma or equivalent in Counselling or Psychotherapy who has experience of providing counselling to young people aged 14 upwards. As you’ll be working closely with pastoral staff on-site, an ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

The role will involve:

• Offering age-appropriate counselling sessions, including assessments and risk assessments 
• Working with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure that students are triaged and the relevant level of care and support is offered
• Record keeping: maintaining up-to-date records of work undertaken, including session notes, service records and Views CRM database records
• Contributing to quarterly monitoring reports, including reflections on key themes and issues experienced by students, case studies, and outcome measurement tools
• Liaising where appropriate with other SEL Mind staff, school/college staff or agencies including local statutory and voluntary sector professionals and organisations
• Attendance at regular supervisions with the Head of Services and meeting with other Young People’s Counsellors to keep abreast of key issues and needs across the service

We are working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub. This forms part of the transformation of mental health services in the London borough of Bromley under the NHS Long Term Plan. 

The service brings together the expertise of local primary, secondary and voluntary sector mental health care providers with the aim of providing flexible, holistic and integrated services for adults with mental health problems.

The integrated team provides brief intervention support to people with mental health problems within a primary care and community mental health setting, helping people develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Senior Peer Support Coordinator to support the development and lead on the delivery of mental health peer support in the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub. The role

The post holder will be responsible for managing Foxglove’s legal team and legal work. You will drive forward a range of cases, including the development of case theories, investigating and collecting evidence, drafting correspondence, evidence and submissions. You will also be responsible for coordinating and managing external legal teams. UK and international travel is required.

Person Specification

Essential 

• A strong interest in using the law to hold government and companies to account.

Length and Salary

The role is permanent. The annual salary is £70,075 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance. 

Our team works remotely, and this role can be based anywhere. We would prefer you to work within or close to UK office hours, but this is flexible. Our team travels every two months for team days and twice a year for team retreats. The Security Manager is the operational lead for the 24/7 security operation at Kew Gardens, ensuring that staff, visitors and collections remain safe and secure across our Gardens and historic buildings. This dynamic and exciting role is responsible for leading, supporting and engaging the Security Team (Kew Constabulary) in a UNESCO World Heritage Site and high volume visitor attraction. The role will lead across multiple functions including security and first aid response, incident management, emergency services liaison, control room operations, receptions, and night security. If you are right for this role, you will be a committed, motivated, and outgoing individual who wants to support the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) of young people living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, working in a partnership capacity as part of a holistic health and wellbeing programme. Your role will be multi-faceted, and you will therefore be flexible and able to offer a variety of SRH interventions in a broad range of settings, to a broad range of young people.

First, you will provide brief interventions in sexual health in an outreach capacity at schools, colleges, universities, leisure centres, youth organisations, and other venues. Here, your primary focus will be to provide basic information about SRH to young people, whilst also encouraging them to complete a Chlamydia screen and register to the free condom scheme. You will also promote online testing for those aged over 18, and connect young people with other local sexual health services through referral and signposting.

Second, you will deliver SRH and relationships training to groups of young people and professionals, in smaller workshop settings as well as to larger groups. You will be able to deliver accurate information on a variety of topics that are often sensitive and complex. You will have an existing knowledge base that you will be willing to expand and solidify through a combination of supported training and independent learning.

Third, you will facilitate offsite drop-in sexual health sessions and offer 1:1 sexual health support to young people who attend any of the four Young Greenwich youth groups. You and your team will each be responsible for attending the four Young Greenwich hubs once each week during evening hours, working closely with the youth group leader as well as the young people themselves to establish trusted relationships and an engaging programme of activity. You will be proactive and creative at integrating sexual health to other, ongoing activities, and ensure effective safeguarding.

Additionally, you will work closely with the wider SHO team, including supporting the sexual health phone lines processing screening results, and where necessary, signposting to relevant services. Across all aspects of your role, you promote local sexual health and contraception services to young people and adults alike, referring to in-person or online services as appropriate and handholding as much or as little as needed, particularly to those most vulnerable. You will keep accurate monitoring records for all interactions, referrals, Chlamydia screens, and C Card registrations / distributions. You will also contribute to quarterly service review reports.

This role requires flexibility, working unsociable hours in the evenings, and occasional weekends. Schedules may vary from week to week depending on programme need.

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated, flexible individual, who is passionate about working with young people around their sexual health. The postholder will conduct outreach, education, and training in several settings depending on the need of different young people. These could be educational settings, youth settings, community events, sports settings, clubs and pubs. You will target vulnerable young people, such as Looked after Children (LAC), those who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET), those who come from areas of high deprivation and high need, and those with other increased risk factors, as well as young people aged 13-15 who are not yet able to access online services. 

 As part of your frontline work, you will encourage young people to sign up for a C-card, and if aged over 16, register to Get It in order to order condoms and lube from the website. When appropriate, you will refer young people into appropriate local sexual health services for contraception, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, STI screening and treatment.

Programme

METRO work closely with our partner Spectra to deliver sexual health services in the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Richmond, Merton and Kingston. In these Boroughs, METRO deliver the Come Correct free condom scheme (C-card), the National Chlamydia Screening Programme (NCSP) as well as Get It, an online scheme which offers condoms, lube, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screens.

METRO also delivers training and education, aimed at both young people and professionals working with young people, as well as community outreach and engagement to reach young people directly- particularly those who are most vulnerable to sexual ill health.

Look Ahead supports thousands of people across London and the South East with a diverse range of needs, helping them to make individual choices, achieve goals and take control of their own lives by providing tailor-made support, care and accommodation services. To support this we are seeking a highly motivated individual to work within Business Development Directorate. The principal objectives of the role will be to:

Focus on the development of a new offer for Look Ahead's homelessness directorate

Play a vital role as Look Ahead seeks to deliver ambitious growth targets and new services of the highest quality by supporting with proposal development and, where needed, tendering.

The postholder will be expected to work closely with other members of the wider Business Development Directorate, operational colleagues and central service teams to support delivery of annual growth targets circa £4-5M (reviewed annually).

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of two days in the office or services.

This role is also available on a 6-month trial secondment for internal applicants.

Operations Officer 

Location: Home-based, with a minimum of every other week travel into our London Office (Islington)

Responsible to: Governance, HR and Operations Manager

Salary: Point 27-30, £30,116- £33,083 (a London Allowance will be applied to employees who live in London)

About the role:

Respect is looking to expand our Operations team with this new Operations Officer role. We’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience in scheduling meetings, HR administration, and coordinating internal and external correspondence with a variety of stakeholders. You must have a strong understanding of GDPR and Microsoft packages and be able to prioritise a busy workload in a fast-changing working environment. Ideally you will have some previous experience of minute-taking as well as inventory and supply management.

About the role

 As Community Hub Co-ordinator, you’ll lead the launch and development of this exciting new space. You’ll manage the day-to-day running of the Hub, support and line-manage a small team (including staff with lived experience of learning disability or autism), and co-design a wide variety of services, events, and partnerships with our members and community.

You’ll also work with other local organisations and charities to expand the support on offer—exploring exciting ideas like social enterprises, creative groups, advice drop-ins or a community café. This is a hands-on role. Some days you’ll be welcoming people and helping with a session, other days you’ll be planning future activities, liaising with partners, or exploring funding ideas. No two days will be the same.

Barnardo's Community Wellbeing Team offers an exciting opportunity to join an established service who are supporting children and young poeple who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional health and wellbeing. The Community Wellbeing Teamare funded by the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership and work in partnership with Mindworks (Formally Camhs) . 

Barnardo's Community Wellbeing Team offers support to children and young people through both 1:1 interventions and group work. The Wellbeing Mentors use a strength based approach to work alongside young poeple to support their emotional wellbeing and mental health. Support is offered throughout the community, in family homes, online, schools and public places. The service provides support to children and young poeple who reside throughout Surrey in the following counties; Waverley, Surrey Heath, Woking and Spelthorne,  therefore a full UK driving licence and access to your own car is a must for this role. 

Due to the nature of this work you will hold a small caseload of children and young people which will enable you to build good relationships with the families and through your support will help them effect meaningful change.

You will have experience of working with children and young people and will be required to deliver direct interventions with a range of difficulties and needs. 

You will have a good understanding of emotional literacy and feel confident in supporting children and young people through the use of various therapeutic interventions.
