The Corporate and Community Volunteer Officer plays a crucial role at High Trees, focusing on driving our corporate volunteering strategy to deliver meaningful, high-impact programs that support both the local community and our corporate partners. Corporate volunteering is at the heart of this role, and you will take the lead in designing and delivering innovative initiatives that align with corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals and generate essential resources to sustain and grow High Trees’ diverse services.

As the primary point of contact for our corporate partners, you will build and maintain strong relationships with businesses, ensuring their engagement and contributions go beyond one-off activities to form lasting, strategic partnerships. You will design tailored corporate volunteering opportunities, such as team-building volunteer days and skills-based initiatives, that deliver measurable benefits for both the business and the community. You will also explore and secure additional funding streams through sponsorships, grants, and creative collaborations, positioning High Trees as a leader in impactful corporate-community engagement.

While the corporate element is the primary focus, you will also oversee High Trees broader volunteering program for local residents, managing their recruitment, training, and placement across our services. This includes providing young people with meaningful work experience placements that offer diverse opportunities for personal and professional development. This is a programme working with a small group of residents each year, with the focus on making sure the programme is of real tangible value to those involved.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in corporate engagement, relationship management, and strategic thinking, who is passionate about using partnerships to create lasting community impact.

They are looking for a fundraiser who has experience working in corporate fundraising and securing revenue from grant-making trusts and foundations. You should be able to demonstrate how you have secured and developed partnerships at each step of the process, ensuring that partnerships are ethical and aligned with the organisation's values.

You will identify 15 new leads and submit a handful of high value bids each year with a focus on trusts, foundations and corporate partnerships. You will manage the bid process and support the team when needed to find additional prospects. The successful candidate will be able to analyse complex data and write a compelling case for support. You will be an excellent communicator and demonstrate a passion for helping others to thrive!

This will ideally be a part time role, though there is the potential for it to be more full time. The role is mostly remote, with around 2 days a month in the office.

This is a key role in the Fundraising Team at Mayhew helping to generate significant income from our digital audiences, ensuring they’re engaged with Mayhew and committed to supporting our aims to deliver greater impact for animals.

You will have an excellent understanding of digital fundraising, and hands-on experience of working with Facebook, PPC, email and web platforms.

You will be a strong multi-tasker, with the ability to hit deadlines. You will combine creativity with a solid foundation of technical and analytical skills and have proven experience in developing and delivering digital fundraising content.

Generally, you will be:

• Leading and delivering digital fundraising campaigns across paid social media, email, and PPC channels, including creative development, audience segmentation, testing and evaluation.
• Developing and implementing audience-focused acquisition and retention strategies to grow Mayhew’s supporter base and maximise income.
• Consistently produce, edit, and proofread engaging fundraising copy for digital campaigns and online content, ensuring accuracy and alignment with our objectives.
• Building engaging landing pages and ensuring our donation platform is functional, optimised, and user-friendly.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to improve donor journeys and online engagement.
• Consistently track digital expenditure and manage the digital fundraising budget to ensure cost-effective results.

Main Responsibilities of the Role Include:

Promote and Implement Licensing SAVI:

• Advocate for Licensing SAVI as a safety and security standard for licensed venues.
• Confidently deliver presentations and engage with stakeholders in forums, meetings, and 1-to-1 sessions.
• Build Stakeholder Relationships:
• Work collaboratively with police forces, councils, local authorities, and venue operators to secure buy-in for the initiative.
• Maintain open communication and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Support Venue Safety and Security:
• Offer guidance on safety measures, crime prevention, and community confidence-building.
• Address key issues such as alcohol misuse, drug prevention, female safety, counterterrorism, cybercrime, and vulnerability reduction.
• Drive Revenue and Funding:

Promote Licensing SAVI to venues and secure funding to ensure the initiative's sustainability.
Expand the Initiative:

• Identify opportunities for geographical and sectoral growth of the Licensing SAVI initiative.

Deliver and Review:

• Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure submissions and assessments meet the required standards.

Work Autonomously:

• Self-manage tasks and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.

To Be Considered for the Role You Will Have the Following Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

Essential:

• Strong knowledge and experience in licensing, including council or police licensing and alcohol premises licensing.
• Expertise in safety, security, and crime prevention within the licensing sector.
• Proven interpersonal, organisational, and presentation skills with the confidence to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience managing stakeholders, including police forces, councils, and industry professionals.
• A dynamic and self-starting approach, with the ability to work independently and think creatively.
• A valid driving license (preferred) for regional travel.

Desirable:

• Previous experience as a Crime Prevention Officer or in a related role.
• Familiarity with female safety initiatives and community engagement strategies.
• Experience working in pubs or clubs, with insight into operational challenges and solutions.

About the Role
