Senior Finance Manager | London - Hybrid | up to £60, 000 | 12-month FTC

For a leading global NGO, we're recruiting a Senior Finance Manager for a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Director of Finance and IT, the Senior Finance Manager will support the Finance team through organisational change, will lead the oversee the month-end processes, quarterly forecasting, annual budget, cash-flow management and group consolidation. The Senior Finance Manager will be a key role in providing support and analysis to help decision-making.

What you'll be doing:

• Support budget holder's decision-making via insightful financial management, annual budget, and forecasting
• Lead on financial accounting and monthly management accounting processes
• Lead on month-end processes, including process improvements to income reconciliations
• Lead on quarterly reforecasting processes, ensuring templates and consolidation forecasts are submitted
• Lead on the preparation of VAT and Tax returns to HMRC and regulators
• Produce accurate cash flow forecasts
• Leading on system improvements to monthly accounting cycle and budgeting / forecasting
• Support the Director of Finance and IT with annual statutory audit processes for consolidated group, liaising with auditors

About the role 

As Campaigns Manager for Communities, you will ensure that our campaigners around the UK have a meaningful experience with Save the Children UK, building localised campaigns and networks for realising children's rights. You will be a strong leader and manage a small team of campaigners working across our key strategic focus areas.

In this role, you will:  

• Lead Save the Children UK's campaign strategy to engage and build our communities and organising work. 
• Lead the development and implementation of campaigning and organising projects that are engaging, impactful and deliver our strategic objectives. 
• Work closely with mission colleagues to ensure that their work represents campaigning and organising best practice and innovation, and with Fundraising & Marketing colleagues to deliver our Supporter Engagement strategy.

• Responsible for providing coherent and meaningful experience for our supporters across the missions and other areas of SCUK's work.

 As Director you will be the clinical and safeguarding lead across Bild group and will lead Respond to fulfil its mission of reducing the impact of trauma in the lives of people with learning disabilities, autistic people and their families. You will champion our highly regarded trauma informed advocacy and psychotherapy services and ensure appropriate clinical governance processes are in place. You will also work in collaboration with Bild to continue to develop the Respond branded training and consultation service and develop key stakeholder relationships within the sector, enhancing Responds reputation, encouraging partnership working and supporting the diversification of income generation.

An opportunity has arisen for a lead Support worker to work within our Sanctuary crisis intervention and prevention service, based in Fore Street in Enfield. We act as a short-term A&E and Emergency services alternative, providing support to individuals in the Enfield Borough aged 18+. 

This role is to provide leadership and support to the Sanctuary team on shift. The role will:

• Lead shifts during the week, providing support to team members via case management support, escalation, Health and Safety guidance
• Support the Sanctuary Manager to embed processes within the service, and ensure that these are carried out
• Work alongside the Manager and team to ensure that the service is operating to high quality standard.
• Provide support in times of emotional distress for clients. The support worker will provide a calm, supportive presence.

 The role will support clients through co-producing support plans with practical and therapeutic support offerings, as well as contributing to the development of a warm welcoming environment and ‘safe space’ to be.

This position would suit someone with a minimum of 2 years experience of working with people with mild, moderate and severe mental health issues. Ideally experience of supporting people experiencing suicidal ideation. Should have previous experience of supervising or managing staff.

About the Service 
Hertfordshire Mind Network has had a Domestic Abuse Service in Three Rivers since 2017. The aim of the Domestic Abuse Casework Service is to provide advice, information, and support to survivors of intimate partner or familial violence living in the community about the range, effectiveness, and suitability of options to improve their safety and that of their children. All advice will be based on a thorough understanding and assessment of risk and its management.

About the Role 
You will be line managed by the Domestic Abuse Service Team Leader for Hertfordshire Mind Network but will manage your own workload, prioritising tasks and working on your own initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the wellbeing of clients who are affected by domestic abuse.
• Improve risk management and safety for clients
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients
• Contribute to a reduction in repeat victimisation
• Reduce the number of victims withdrawals of witness statements
• Increase the reporting of children at risk of harm
• Put any necessary safeguards in place
• Increase successful court outcomes by proactively supporting clients
• Work with other professionals e.g. police, health, social care, housing, and signpost and liaise with such agencies as necessary
• To agree and record safety plans made with clients as well as suggesting other alternate appropriate areas of support to ensure clients are receiving some sort of support or engagement with services.
• Receive referrals and undertake appropriate risk assessments and make direct contact within 48 hours of referral.
• To refer to the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) if required and local IDVA service.
• Work with the wider team within Hertfordshire Mind Network and support clients in accessing additional support e.g. counselling, peer support, employment support and self-development courses.

ELSC is an initiative of the Palestinian NGO Network, comprising 200 Palestinian civil society organisations, developed in response to the widespread repression in Europe of advocacy for Palestinian rights. Founded in January 2019, we provide free legal advice and assistance to individuals who face unjust smears, disciplinary investigations, criminal sanctions and other repressive measures aimed at shrinking the space for Palestinian rights advocacy in mainland Europe and Britain. ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Associate Solicitor will lead our legal team in Britain and oversee our cases in England and Wales. 

The role requires a qualified solicitor with experience of running litigious cases. Our main practice areas in Britain are: (i) public law and human rights; (ii) employment and discrimination and (iii) defamation law. The post-holder will have particular expertise in one of these areas. Our cases also involve data rights, freedom of information, criminal law, actions against the police, charity law, education law, international humanitarian law, and immigration issues. 

The post holder will manage a growing team that consists of a Legal Officer and a Junior Legal Officer. In addition, our British work team has an advocacy and communication officer and two researchers who monitor anti-Palestinian racism.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee all litigious and advisory casework in Britain alongside our junior legal staff and legal network. Provide expert legal advice and representation, to individual clients and movement partners.

• Manage our legal officers, providing training and feedback to them as appropriate. Collaborate closely with our legal network of solicitors and counsel with the goal of strengthening the wider movement. 

• ​​Develop and advance new legal strategies for challenging state and non-state repression of advocacy for Palestine in consultation with our legal network, national partners and experts. 

• Support the development of effective advocacy campaigns to increase the impact of litigation outside the courtroom.

• Support ELSC’s outreach and public engagement initiatives.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Required experience, knowledge and skills

• 3 years + post-qualified experience (PQE) and admitted to practise as a solicitor in England and Wales.

• Experience leading on a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters, particularly in public, employment and/or defamation law. 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice on complex issues in a comprehensible and appropriate format. 

• An ability to engage with the law critically and develop strategies that serve broader political objectives. Track record of collaborating well with other lawyers, academics and civil society organisations.

• Excellent client care skills, particularly in relation to vulnerable or marginalised clients.

• Experience in a role which requires coordination of multiple projects and/or workstreams concurrently, and the ability to manage relationships with partner organisations, coalitions and counsel.

• High level of English-language proficiency.

• Commitment to the Palestinian liberation and solidarity movement.

Desirable experience, skills and knowledge

• Dual-qualified in Scotland and/or Northern Ireland.
