The British Psychotherapy Foundation (bpf) is looking for a Membership & Engagement Officer (to cover a period of maternity leave). The successful candidate will communicate directly with and engage bpf members, maintain accurate membership details in our CRM, complete general membership administrative tasks, update the members’ area of our website, manage the bpf members’ forum, support with member events, and work with the Director of Engagement, Marketing & Communications to develop the bpf’s overall membership offering/benefits. 

The British Psychotherapy Foundation is in a period of considerable growth and we are looking for an experienced Membership and Engagement Officer to support and develop our membership service. This role will be well-suited to an ambitious self-starter, who has a desire not only to take ownership of our current membership activities but also to refine them. The right candidate will be adept at problem solving, highly organized, diligent (with a respect for confidentiality and GDPR guidelines) and will be committed to delivering excellent customer service to our members at all times. Previous experience working at a membership organisation is desirable. 

The post-holder will play a pivotal role in keeping our members informed of the latest news and member benefits, promptly supporting members with queries, listening to member feedback, as well as maintaining accurate CRM records.

The role

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Income Generation to join our senior leadership team. This new and pivotal role will be responsible for developing and implementing robust income generation strategies to diversify and grow our funding and trading streams. 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising or sales, building strategic partnerships, and driving innovation in income generation. As a key player in our organisation, you will lead a dedicated team and work collaboratively to ensure the sustainability and expansion of our vital programmes.

Key responsibilities

Income Generation Strategy:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive income generation strategy that aligns with the charity’s mission and goals;

• Identify and explore new income streams, including fundraising, partnerships, and product development.

Fundraising:

• Oversee all fundraising activities, including trusts and foundations and individual giving;

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, funders, and sponsors;

• Develop compelling fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives to attract new supporters;

• Oversee bids and pitches;

• Act as an ambassador for the charity, championing its interests locally and nationally with stakeholders and potential supporters.

Business Development and Partnerships:

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing income generation team including four direct reports (Senior Fundraising Manager, Head of New Business Partnerships, Head of Partnership Experience, Head of School Partnerships);

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team;

• Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development;

• Collaborate with the wider Leadership Team on Future Frontiers’ strategy and plan for growth;

• Play a key role in the development and delivery of charity-wide culture initiatives and the EDI strategy.

Financial Management:

• Prepare and manage the income generation budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources;

• Monitor and report on income generation performance, providing regular updates to the CEO and Board of Trustees;

• Oversee production of annual report and fundraising matters for the annual accounts and audit;

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices in fundraising management.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

• Stay abreast of trends, opportunities, and challenges in the fundraising, education and social mobility sectors;

• Encourage and implement innovative approaches to income generation;

• Continuously evaluate and improve income generation strategies and processes, including maximising effectiveness of the CRM system (SalesForce).

ISEAL´s Innovations Fund is a central component of our work to catalyse innovations that improve the effectiveness and deepen the impacts of market-based approaches to sustainability. This is an exciting role to support the development of a learning agenda and value proposition for the Fund as well as producing relevant communications and reports.

First launched in 2016, the Fund supports innovative projects by ISEAL Community Members to help sustainability systems deliver more value to their stakeholders and effectively drive sustainability improvement on the ground, over time, and at scale. The Fund provides grants that enable recipients to develop and test new technologies and approaches, while drawing out cross-project learning to share with the wider sustainability community.

The Associate Manager will work closely with grantees to improve the ways learning is extracted from the projects. We will look to the position to take ownership of the engagement processes necessary to collate and share lessons learnt in a strongly collaborative setting with Community Member organisations or other stakeholders.

The key responsibilities we entrust you with

Implementation of Innovations Fund learning agenda

• Develop and maintain an overall learning agenda for the Fund, and support Fund and programme team on its delivery

ReachOut is a national mentoring and education charity, rooted in local communities. Working in under-resourced areas, we support young people to grow in character and confidence, sparking change in themselves and society. 

Our Youth Project Leaders are individuals who are passionate about working with young people, supporting them to reach and be confident in their potential. You may be an experienced youth worker, or have experience facilitating sessions or working with young people and leading volunteers.

You’ll also have access to free, tailored training opportunities where you can learn and refine new skills as well as working with your own career mentor if that’s something you’d be interested in.

We also run celebratory events, socials, networking and training sessions throughout the year - opportunities to meet other people who are passionate about working with and supporting young people. 

Your Job Description 

As a Youth Project Leader, you will: 

• Deliver ReachOut sessions at the same partner school on the same day and time weekly during term time.

• Prepare your ReachOut sessions, following ReachOut’s curriculum and adapting the activities to the needs and interests of your assigned group.

• Facilitate engaging ReachOut sessions for the young people attending by ensuring that the voice of young people is listened to and impacts the way the sessions are planned and facilitated.

• Manage and support a group of volunteer mentors; supporting them to build strong rapport with their mentees and helping them to understand how to best adapt their mentoring approach to the young people they are working with.

• Support theyoung people in your session to reach and be confident in their potential by facilitating the creation of good mentee/mentor relationships and by running activities to build the ReachOut Character Strengths.

• Complete monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure the sessions are as impactful as possible and set up strategies with the help of your line manager to help each young person in your group reach their mentoring goal.

• Keep in touch with the parents/carers of the young people in your group about attendance, successes and challenges.

• Manage your project’s weekly admin by planning your sessions, maintaining your attendance and providing detailed project updates to your line manager.

• Attend ReachOut events and socials with their mentors. • Follow ReachOut’s policies/procedures to safeguard young people.

• Act and communicate in a professional manner, in line with ReachOut character strengths and culture.

• Attend all compulsory training.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for leading the development of our Procurement Strategy and the associated policies and processes, as well as managing key procurement activity, increasing the skills of colleagues and developing our approach to reporting and compliance. You will be responsible for promoting good procurement practice with regards to sustainability, ethical purchasing and whole life costing. 

Your core responsibilities will include: 

• Formulating, developing and maintaining an integrated procurement strategy for the NCIs, identifying key areas of opportunity and risk and working with relevant stakeholders to achieve value for money and savings targets
• Identifying and developing strategic supplier relationships that support the delivery of NCI objectives and are in sympathy with the ethos of the Church of England
• Ensuring procurement policies and practices promote compliance with relevant regulations including anti-fraud/bribery/corruption legislation and other applicable laws
• Identifying ways to continuously improve processes and drive efficiency savings throughout the procurement cycle
• Leading the tender process for awarding high value/high risk contracts, ensuring business requirements are understood and delivered, and that competitive, best practice processes are followed and documented
• Building procurement capability across the NCIs through undertaking relevant training and awareness activities with staff in order to promote a best practice procurement approach, ensuring appropriate guidance and materials are available on the NCI intranet site to resource and inform staff

Our Sport Team has an exciting opportunity for you to join them, working to engage those experiencing homelessness into physical activity and improving their quality of life. 

About the role: 

As a Sport Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering varied activity sessions for both adults and young people across different services, both internally and externally. You will work closely with the Sport Manager to effectively coordinate support from freelancers and volunteers. Your role will extend to broadening the accessibility of sports and exercise within SHP's services and among its residents, for both adults and the young people we support. Additionally, you'll play a key part in growing the programmes reach, forging partnerships with similar organisations and charities, while also advocating for the significance of physical activity within the homeless community. 

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality disorder, complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients supporting them to engage in regular physical activity, and see an improvement in their overall health. 

About you:

• Demonstrable knowledge of fitness and sporting activities, application and implementation 
• Sports and coaching qualifications relevant tot he sector. 
• Demonstrable knowledge of motivating and supporting vulnerable adults and young people into sport and exercise. 
• Ability to develop and deliver structured group-based physical activity sessions with both adults and young people. 
• Ability to advocate for the importance of physical activity within our services.
