We are seeking to appoint seven Advisory panel members for the following committees:
Companies Committee (one dispensing optician, one optometrist and one business registrant)
Education Committee (one dispensing optician and one registered medical practitioner)
Registration Committee (one dispensing optician and one lay member)
Please note that applicants cannot be appointed to more than one committee.
About the GOC
We are the regulator for the optical professions in the UK. Our purpose is to protect the public by promoting high standards of education, performance and conduct.
About the Advisory Panel
The Advisory Panel is a meeting of the four Council’s committees (Companies, Education, Registration and Standards) in plenary session. They are established by statute for the purpose of giving advice and assistance to Council (whether or not in response to a request from them) on:
· matters relating to business registrants other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be referred to the Investigation Committee, the Registration Appeals Committee or the Fitness to Practise Committee;
· matters relating to optical training, education and assessment;
· matters relating to registration, other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be considered by the Registration Appeals Committee; and
· matters relating to the standards of conduct and performance expected of registrants or those seeking admission to the register.
The committees and the Advisory Panel meet about twice a year. You can read the current terms of reference for the Advisory Panel, Education Committee, Registration Committee and Standards Committee.
Remuneration and time commitment
A daily fee of £319 will be paid. This is in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule. This is taxable and subject to Class 1 National Insurance (NI) contributions. It is not pensionable.
Members can claim expenses for travel and subsistence costs incurred on Council business as set out in our expenses policy.
This role is part time with a commitment of approximately 2-3 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings. Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices in London or other suitable venues.

Challenge Events Fundraiser

We are looking for a Challenge Events Fundraiser to join our national Regional Fundraising Team.

About the role
As a Challenge Events Fundraiser, you will support the Regional Fundraising Team to build a successful programme of challenge events that will raise funds and positively promote the Charity.
This role will focus on a portfolio of mass participation and challenge events, as well as supporting national campaigns and community events delivered by programme scheduling, resource management, event marketing, participant recruitment and stewardship, financial reporting, database management and event evaluation.
You will produce and maintain the events calendar, research and recommend new events and work with our Customer Care team to ensure support materials are provided as appropriate. You will ensure event performance; supporter engagement and income are recorded tracked and fed back to the Fundraising team.
You will ensure events are marketed and celebrated via established charity platforms, and participant numbers and income are increased through promotion to new and previous supporters.
You will support participants through their journey, creating a memorable experience and positive impression of the charity, and will attend some events in person.
Previous experience of event planning, participant recruitment and sponsor stewardship would be an asset to the successful candidate, who will also need experience of working with a CRM database and be competent at interpreting financial information and reports.
This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
About you
You will need a good understanding of the events fundraising sector, it’s relevant law, procedures and techniques.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to research, plan and support a programme of events on a national scale and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and KPIs agreed with your line manager.

Senior Fundraising Partnerships Officer

Role Summary
The Marketing Officer role plays an integral part in the Marketing team, supporting the Marketing Coordinators to plan, execute, track and evaluate campaigns that promote the Into Film programme. The Marketing Officer leads on all marketing email communications.
Main Responsibilities:
- Marketing lead on all Into Film email communications – management and scheduling of all email communications to Into Film database and external audiences; management of email communications calendar; management of Email Service Provider (‘ESP’) – Into Film currently uses Salesforce Marketing Cloud; maintaining the integrity of the email contact list; writing copy, building, segmenting and sending emails.
- Support Marketing Coordinators on planning, copywriting and coordination of the marketing of Into Film campaigns across paid, organic and earned media.
- Lead on delivery and evaluation of specific marketing campaigns across the Into Film offer, when requested across the academic year.
- Lead on Customer Relationship Management (‘CRM’) reporting – Into Film currently uses Salesforce – including setting up dashboards, creating effective reports, and working closely with the Product & Technology team to ensure the CRM is being used to its full potential; ensure work is driven towards meeting targets and achieves effective ROI.
- Ongoing analysis of email reporting and performance to inform future marketing and communications strategies and plans.
- Responsible for rolling out best email practice across the organisation, supporting and training other colleagues on email and the ESP.
- Ensure all emails are on –brand in both look and feel, and in tone of voice.
- Ensure all email campaigns adhere to GDPR consent and data capture regulations.

Person Specification:
Essential:
- Experience of managing email campaigns for a variety of audiences, including drafting content, ESP management (ideally Salesforce Marketing Cloud), A/B testing and performance analysis.
- A good understanding of email data (open rate, click through rate, click through open rate etc.) and how to analyse it to inform ongoing activity.
- Experience of using a range of analytics tools to help monitor, optimise and evaluate campaign performance including Google Analytics, CRMs and ESPs.
- Experience of using CRMs (ideally Salesforce) to segment audiences, create campaigns, target audiences and report on activity.
- Experience of managing marketing and communications campaigns across owned, paid and earned channels.
- Management of campaigns and implementing tracking, undertaking evaluation based on performance of KPIs.
- Experience of copywriting and producing content for a range of channels and audiences.
Desirable:
- A good understanding of the education market and how teachers can use film (and the arts more broadly) to meet their teaching and learning objectives.

The role and your key responsibilities
As an Account Manager, your role is to make sure that all partners in your area make the most out of the Unifrog platform. You’ll build and maintain excellent working relationships with your partner schools and colleges, and provide expert guidance on how to embed the platform across all year groups.
You will cover your own area of the country with occasional travel to your partner schools and colleges (on average 1-2 days per week).
Your key responsibilities will include:

Work with schools and colleges to provide resources and strategies which maximise staff and student engagement with Unifrog, identifying and promoting best practice across partner schools.

Deliver targeted training sessions to staff within our partner schools and colleges via workshops and presentations, delivered remotely or in person.

Work with your partner Area Manager to improve Unifrog engagement and achieve a sky high resubscription rate.

Monitor and analyse usage across partner schools and colleges; identifying partners that need additional support to use the platform effectively.

Listen to teachers and students about how we can improve our customer service and the Unifrog platform.

Attend conferences and run CPD events on behalf of Unifrog.

Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for safety concerns and queries, providing advice and support to staff, volunteers, trustees and beneficiaries.
- Develop, review, and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and best practices, and ensure these are effectively communicated and accessible to all staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
- Conduct and support the undertaking of regular risk assessments to identify potential safety risks within the organisation and actions addressed.
- Work with teams across the organisation to develop and implement risk management strategies and controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Monitor and review risk management strategies to ensure they remain current and relevant.
- Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers to promote understanding of safety issues and practices and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Handle and investigate safety concerns and incidents promptly and sensitively, managing the investigation process from end to end.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and other safety concerns promptly and thoroughly.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and actions taken, ensuring compliance with data protection laws.
- Ensure the organisation complies with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and standards.
- Regularly prepare and submit safety reports to key stakeholders, including key performance indicators and learnings.
- Use the organisation’s reportable events framework to notify the Head of Governance and Chief of Staff of any reportable events, especially those which may qualify as ‘serious incidents’ requiring reporting to the Charity Commission or other regulatory body.
- Collaborate with external agencies as necessary.
- Monitor the effectiveness of safety policies and procedures, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans to ensure swift and appropriate action in safety emergencies.
- Promote a positive safety culture within the organisation, encouraging staff and volunteer and member engagement in health and safety initiatives.

All safety matters are managed in one place and handled efficiently, sensitively, and in accordance with established policies and regulations. Staff and volunteers across the organisation are confident in how to respond to safety concerns and member and supporter trust in the organisation is enhanced.

Salary: £43,000
Contract Type: Permanent, ideally, full-time (35 hours per week) although 4 days a week will be considered.

BACKGROUND
The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.7 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat. When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.
Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma. Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK.
The new UK government’s Children’s Wellbeing Bill outlined in the King’s Speech, includes a requirement for free school breakfast clubs in every English primary school. This is a fantastic start towards ending child morning hunger. Magic Breakfast’s influence will be instrumental to ensuring school breakfasts are introduced in a way that is hunger-focused and barrier free. In 2021, the Scottish Government, pledged a not yet enacted promise to provide breakfast to primary children.
Thousands of secondary school children are at risk of losing their free school breakfasts from September next year. For many of these students, this is their only opportunity to have a nutritious meal before facing a demanding school day, including taking exams.
Solutions across all UK nations are currently either not yet actioned or are severely underserving the current need. JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Analyst with expertise in Microsoft (Power Platform) who is looking for an exciting opportunity to play an instrumental part in Magic Breakfast’s ongoing data transformation. In this multi-faceted position, you’ll lead the design and development of data-driven solutions using Microsoft Fabric and the Power Platform, while also championing the ongoing evolution and smooth operation of the system. Your expertise will be critical in shaping how the organisation gathers, analyses and utilises data to automate workflows, generate reports and dashboards, and ultimately achieve our strategic objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
System analysis and development

Provide expert advice and guidance to shape solutions for data collection, aggregation, dissemination, and workflow automation using Microsoft Fabric and the Power Platform.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and design, prototype, implement and test scalable data solutions.

Design and maintain scalable data models in Microsoft Fabric to optimise data organisation, ensuring efficient and effective data usage across the organisation.

Extract, cleanse, and transform data using Power Automate from multiple sources into Microsoft Fabric, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable data for analytics and reporting.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement of data systems, processes, and tools within the Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Design and maintain data pipelines tailored to business reporting and analytics needs.

This role is 3,4, or 5dpw, so flexible and requires someone to cover the following:
The Social Media Manager creates, publishes, and reports on engaging content across the organisations social media channels, to help us grow their community and tell great stories about the arts establishments in their network.
In this temporary role, you'll manage their social media planner, ensuring optimal content is published across their consumer and professional channels. You'll create original content, optimise existing material, and provide expert guidance to colleagues developing their own social content.
Community management is essential in this role - you'll monitor their Sprout Social inbox, maintain audience engagement, and escalate issues to appropriate teams. As their in-house social media expert, you'll shape briefs for influencers, freelancers, and agencies supporting our campaigns, occasionally setting up small paid social initiatives. You'll deliver performance reporting for their monthly team and departmental KPIs, plus ad-hoc analysis and insight as needed.
Finally, you'll contribute to an audience research project by identifying key TikTok accounts and hashtags for them to engage with, to support a pilot we’ll run on that channel later in the year.
