About the role

We seek an experienced Business Development Manager to drive our UK growth and expand our client and partner base. Reporting directly to the CEO, (initially) you will lead our sales strategy targeting UK businesses, with a particular focus on small and medium businesses, and public sector organisations. 

With a proven track record in generating revenue through outbound marketing, online channels and relationship-building, as well as developing new revenue-generating business models, you will be hands-on in driving our B2B sales, securing over £150,000 annually through direct sales, grants, tenders, contracts and partnerships. You will also contribute to developing engaging communications to support The Human Edge's financial growth and brand development.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute the sales growth strategy aligned with organisational goals
• Proactively identify and ensure new business opportunities, partnerships and collaboration
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with HR/talent leaders, MDs and decision-makers in UK businesses and/or public sector organisations

About you

You are a commercially minded, results-driven and action-oriented business development professional with 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in B2B sales and income generation within the leadership development, coaching, and mentoring and skill building/training sectors. Skilled in securing new business, developing growth strategies and building long-term client relationships, you leverage your established network of HR/talent leaders and Managing Directors in UK businesses, with a particular focus on small and medium businesses, and/or public sector to enable consistent revenue growth.

Your role in our mission:

InPhase is a new platform at Marie Curie and is a comprehensive system used across various departments, including Caring Services and Retail, for managing incidents, complaints, concerns, compliments, and feedback.

Our InPhase Administrator will play a key role in supporting the efficient use of our InPhase system. You'll be responsible for managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting the system, ensuring that it runs smoothly for the whole organisation. As Communications and PR Manager we are looking for an experienced and high-achieving individual with exceptional written skills to work closely with our Director of Communications and Fundraising. The successful candidate will lead on the delivery of an organisation-wide communication strategy and will also work with the Dir Comms and Fundraising to develop and deliver a PR strategy to help grow JET’s voice and influence at a very exciting time in our growth (this is the first time we have looked to bring our PR function in-house).

You will have responsibility for managing JET’s voice and narrative, and will supervise our  Communications and Events Officer to plan, develop and deliver engaging copy and multimedia assets - both long and short form – for use across multiple platforms in line with our comms KPIs. Your exceptional written and proofreading skills, creative experience and your eye for precision, will support us to develop inspiring and impactful stories to bring our work to life for our key audiences. 

You’ll also have responsibility for PR and media relations activities including identifying relevant media opportunities, writing press releases, building out the organisation’s PR infrastructure, and proactively pitching to local and national media and policy influences to grow awareness of our work with key audiences.

What can we offer you?

The salary band for this role is £40,000 - £46,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

You will be a subject matter expert on customer vulnerability and financial services firms’ regulatory requirements to support them, as well as having a thorough understanding of industry rules and best practice. You will combine this with SEA’s expertise on economic abuse to ensure this is embedded within financial services’ firms’ responses to victim-survivors.

About you

You will have previous experience of working in financial services, focusing on vulnerable customer strategy, policy, customer experience, or customer risk. You have an understanding of financial services products and services, and are able to provide advice and support on complex issues, such as safeguarding, risk and compliance.

You have experience engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders, managing client relationships and/or delivering consultancy. Your strong analytical skills will identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in firms' processes.

Your knowledge and insight will support SEA’s broader industry policy influencing.
