In this 18-month fixed-term role, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of over 300 digital learning modules. What you’ll do 

• Oversee the entire life cycle of selected R-ITI modules marked for redevelopment, from establishing SME groups to review and update content, to working with learning technology colleagues to produce and publish them on time and within budget on RCR’s LMS. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals and objectives and provide support to the working groups whilst they redevelop the modules. 
• Develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Be responsible for overall quality control of newly developed content by working collaboratively with SMEs and learning technology colleagues to create accurate, engaging and effective e-learning content for our members. 
• Lead cross-functional teams consisting of SMEs, internal or externally sourced e-learning developers, designers, and quality assurance testers.
• Be the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing necessary support, troubleshooting queries and ensuring strategically sound decisions are made.
• Manage project budgets and promptly report any potential spending variances to the Learning Development Manager.

The Role

As our Deputy Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) you will be responsible for stock control and stock movement between our Donation Centre and Warehouse and organising deliveries for van drivers to take stock to our shops. This should all be done in accordance with all health and safety regulations. The sorting of donations quickly and efficiently is a fundamental part of this role, and it is expected that a significant proportion of working time will be spent doing this.

Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) you will support the management of the volunteer team; the organisation of the weekly logistics, communication to the retail teams regarding their deliveries, and ensuring that any requests for specific stock or returns are well managed.

Specifically, you will:

• Lead the team of employees and volunteers to quickly and efficiently sort donated stock.
• Be responsible for ensuring that donated stock is stored appropriately and safely.
• Identify if any specific donated stock suits the profile/demographics of specific shops in the retail network and ensure that those items are ringfenced and delivered in a timely manner to maximise income for the charity.
• Support the Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) in managing the daily running of the Donation Centre and warehouse, maintaining policies and procedures.
• Be responsible for planning and administering the weekly logistics, to ensure stock is collected and delivered to the network of shops, and to plan for collections from donors’ homes.
• Support the management of the volunteer rota on a weekly basis to ensure that both the Donation Centre and warehouse are fully operational during opening hours, and minimise lone working.
• Support the management of Donation Centre and warehouse volunteers: This will include recruiting, inducting, managing, motivating, and training to ensure a positive working environment.
• Play an active role as the Duty Manager for the building that you are in, in line with the expectations and requirements of the Business Continuity Plan, and run the site in line with brand standards, and the applicable charity policies and procedures.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To be trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal.
• To be ideally educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
• To have experience of managing people and volunteers including recruitment and development.
• To have previous experience in a warehouse or distribution role, ideally within a retail or charity environment.
• To have commercial awareness to help build and drive sales coupled with the determination and motivation to help build and drive our retail distribution network.
• To have knowledge and experience of effective stock rotation and management.
• To have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

About the Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT)

PSTT is a registered charity with a clear vision – we want to see excellent teaching of science in every primary classroom in the UK. We believe it is vital that children are engaged and inspired by science from an early age. We want to draw on their natural curiosity to help them explore, understand and ask questions about the world around them.

We’ve built a Primary Science Teacher College of over 200 outstanding teachers; each helping to shape and influence science teaching across the UK. We organise engaging professional learning events for teachers, and work with partner organisations to further enhance how science is taught. Our 2023-28 strategy is building on these strengths to reach more teachers across a more diverse range of schools.

We’re dedicating our most intensive efforts to areas of the UK requiring most development in primary science. Our Priority Areas initiative is being piloted in 30 schools, and in September 2025 we plan to launch this programme in a further 30 schools. Our Regional Mentors have worked with more than 3,000 schools across England, with exceptionally positive feedback.

Job summary

There are two parts to the Primary Science Mentor role. The majority of the role will focus on strengthening primary science teaching and leadership by leading our second Priority Areas initiative. Through their knowledge of and passion for primary science education, the successful candidate will inspire transformational change in schools taking part in this project. They will build close working relationships with participating schools and create a vibrant and exciting learning community based on mutual support and the sharing of expertise.

The remaining hours in the role will be as a Regional Mentor: joining PSTT’s growing team of primary science experts who provide bespoke support directly to individual schools, multi-academy trusts and other school groupings and organisations. This includes developing and delivering training in a variety of contexts, including online; working individually with Science Leaders; being a leading voice, expert and advocate for primary science (both regionally and nationally); and creating partnerships with other organisations that support science within the region.

You will act as the leading authority on matters relating to income generation, providing advice across the organisation including to the Executive Group and Trustees.

You will enable the delivery of related transformation programmes that increase and diversify income. And have strategic ownership of the income generation programme, including income-related activities and KPIs within the engagement calendar, and customer experience and journeys relating to financial supporters

You will lead on income generation functions planning and budget setting contributing to the overall business planning process for the Income and Engagement Directorate

You’ll also need to be influential both internally and externally, including representing the MS Society at a range of external meetings with a variety of audiences.

As well as leading on planning and budget setting for the external affairs functions, as a member of the leadership team, you will also contribute to the strategic leadership, planning and policy formulation of the MS Society as a whole.

We’re looking for someone who is committed to collaborative working, who is excellent at building relationships and trust with colleagues at all levels, and whose focus is on supporting high performing teams and enabling them to do their best for the MS community.

• Support the preparation of manual Gift Aid sponsorship claims
