As CTA's Business Development Manager, your role involves increasing the uptake of MiDAS training and growing CTA membership. To do this you will need to have/develop an in-depth knowledge of the sector, be able to conduct your own research, develop relationships with our key stakeholders, and track performance metrics.

Responsibilities

Promoting CTA services, increasing uptake, and retention.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing members, ensuring their satisfaction and engagement to retain our existing membership.
• Develop and foster relationships with local authorities, umbrella organisations, charities, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders across the UK to promote CTA membership offerings.
• This will include creating a promotional package for CTA membership to be delivered to organisations across the UK.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and outreach strategy to promote MiDAS training courses.
• You will do this by collaboratively working with MiDAS customers, training providers, local authorities, and community organisations to raise awareness of MiDAS and its benefits. This will include running workshops, webinars, and information sessions to educate potential clients on MiDAS standards and certification that encourage participation in MiDAS training.
• Build and maintain connections with commercial organisations affiliated with CTA, ensuring strong relationships, and the offers are relevant adding value to CTA membership.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including creating focused campaigns to attract new members and boost membership sales. This will include collaborating with CTA’s Country Directors and Development Officers to share these campaigns and involve them in the process.
• Using available internal MiDAS sales and participation data, develop a thorough understanding of who purchases and uses the product and how this can be leveraged to increase participation in the training programme and drive its income.
• Responsible for contributing to the MiDAS / Training newsletter
• Make the best use of social media, including content creation, to promote CTA membership and training offering.
• Work with senior leadership group to develop our sales systems and processes.
• Provide excellent customer service to address inquiries, resolve issues, and encourage membership renewals.

Research, analysis and reporting

• Develop and implement strategies to identify trends within the Community Transport sector and beyond. In doing so you will identify potential new stakeholders, potential threats, opportunities and areas for growth.
• Monitor developments within the wider voluntary and transport sector and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Use these insights to regularly provide feedback to the leadership group and make recommendations for growth.
• Track and report on key performance indicators related to MiDAS training and CTA membership. Including providing regular updates to management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.

• Extensive experience in business development and/or sales roles, including the creation of metrics for setting targets and measuring success.

SteelWatch is a new international civil society organisation established in June 2023, driving corporate accountability in the steel sector and urgent climate action. ABOUT THE ROLE

As a member of the first international climate NGO specialising in steel decarbonisation, you will work with other SteelWatch team members located across Asia-Pacific, Africa and Europe. The Executive Assistant will be a vital team member, providing critical, executive administrative support to enable the Executive Director and SteelWatch Leadership team to operate effectively. The duties associated with the role will evolve significantly as SteelWatch evolves. The Executive Assistant reports to the Executive Director. 

Key Responsibilities

The role is focused on supporting the Executive Director and SteelWatch Leadership team on a number of tasks, not limited to:

• Manage diaries, schedule appointments, set up meetings, adapting to priorities. 

• Organise and book travel arrangements according to diary needs and internal policies.

• Arrange and prepare for meetings with external partners, allies, donors and industry meetings, handling logistics (timing, location, travel, virtual arrangements) 

• Draft supporting materials (e.g., presentations) and assist with minute-taking, ensuring team input.

• Track and manage written communication with key external contacts, including funder updates.

• This role will also support several core governance and operational activities, not limited to: 

• Support the Supervisory Board and Management Board in effective decision-making by ensuring clear agendas, logistical support in organising these meetings, plus minute taking, sign-off and circulation. 

• Assist with key organisational processes and tasks, collaborating closely with the Operations Lead and team members on new staff recruitment, contracting and onboarding processes. 

• Support research and delivery against organisational goals, monitor Director expenditure, manage system and IT tool access for staff and consultants, and maintain filing and other administrative systems.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Location: The position is remote, and the location should be in a time zone within two hours of Central European Time. The UK location is a benefit. Work environment: The work is mainly remote, although some face-to-face meetings are essential, within Europe.  Working hours are flexible. Team members are currently located in Japan, the UK, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, and the team will continue to grow internationally. There will be some early mornings or evenings to accommodate interactions across time zones, with the flexibility to adjust your weekly schedule accordingly. Travel will be required to collaborate with allies and meet the team in person.

Terms and salary: The role is expected to be long-term and managed via an Employer of Record. The initial contract will be for 12 months, if feasible, within local employment regulations. While we envision this as a full-time role, we are open to other options (minimum 60% unless a job share). The UK salary for this position is in the range of £28,000 to £34,000 per annum, pro rata, based on experience. Comparable salaries in other countries are based on market rates.

Salary: Depending on experience and location: £27,000 - £35,000 gross per year for 1 FTE

RESPONSIBILITIES

Governance & Legal Structure Coordination

• Support our internationalisation efforts and the set-up / registration of new country entities 

• Conclude & maintain necessary agreements (collaboration agreements, service agreements, contracts, and data protection agreements) between ProVeg International Inc. (US) and new and existing ProVeg legal entities, and liaise with external lawyers for advice

Trademark Coordination

• Manage, oversee and expand the trademark portfolio of ProVeg International Inc. 

• Coordinate infringements actions with a trademark law firm 

• Support the development of a trademark strategy

• Liaise/ manage contact with a trademark law firm 

International Legal Affairs Coordination

• Check and arrange international and national contracts and agreements for ProVeg C.I.C (UK) and ProVeg International Inc. (US) and liaise with external lawyers for advice

• Ensure organisational compliance and assess legal risks. Advise the Senior Leadership Team on mitigation

• Support ProVeg countries (provide templates for contracts etc. or general advice where possible)

Data Protection Coordination

• Act as internal data protection expert (GDPR etc.) and work with colleagues (e.g. Communications, Fundraising, Operations) on compliance and data protection implementation

• Manage, update, maintain and ensure compliance with GDPR and other international Data Protection Regulations 

• Ensure and monitor compliance with Data Protection Regulation for ProVeg’s International Departments and support countries with compliance with national Data Protection laws 

• Raise awareness of data protection compliance among staff and support data protection training

• Liaise with internal Data Protection Coordinator (Germany) and external Data Protection Officer

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field required; graduate degree preferred

• Broad legal knowledge, particularly regarding data protection, contracts, governance, business law, and related regulations. Knowledge around employment law, Trademark, and other areas strongly preferred.

• Proven experience with a minimum of two to three years of working in a legal support role, ideally in the non-profit sector

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• Collaborative attitude, solution-focused, and supportive of international colleagues (particularly Country Directors, Heads and International Senior Leadership and Operations team)

• IT skills, including Google Docs, with advanced proficiency in Google Sheets

• Self-starter personality with the ability to work independently and with limited supervision
