The Information, Advice and Guidance worker is situated in the advocacy team to provide information on maintaining good mental health. The role will include triage provision in helping to assess needs e.g., reducing suicide risk and refer beneficiaries to appropriate and more importantly immediate support either at MhIST or externally. Typically, interventions will be short and usually, but not always, once off in nature.

Usually you will be working with people who have relatively low needs but you will be able to assist people with higher or complex needs to access services which are appropriate for them.

The support we envisage will typically be things like:

· Helping people to access the most appropriate service for their needs.

· Providing advice to help prevent the worsening of symptoms.

· Basic welfare benefits and other financial information

· Making sense of forms and paperwork

· Providing information about available services in the local area

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence. We provide responsive, victim focused, and trauma informed support and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders, and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

This role will work with the partners and/ or ex-partners and other affected people (parents/siblings/children and young people) of any participants accessing support through our Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Programme (DAPP).  The overall aim of this role is to ensure their safety is not compromised by the intervention.

This role will involve providing emotional and practical support to affected others following a personal needs led assessment as well as corroborating information to assure safety, in addition there will be the opportunity to deliver psychoeducation sessions designed to increase the understanding of the impact of trauma on the brain, domestic abuse, healthy relationships and the impact on parenting.

The successful candidate will work closely with the DAPP Manager, Partner Safety worker and Behaviour Change Advisors to deliver a holistic approach to addressing domestic abuse.

The role will also include working with other agencies to ensure that a coordinated community response approach is taken to support the persons recovery and personal goals and attendance at multi agency meetings as required.

This role is based in our Gloucester site and the successful candidate will be willing to travel across the Gloucester County to attend events, meetings and appointments.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Complete specialist risk assessments (including DASH) and develop personalised safety and support plans for victims of domestic abuse, in collaboration with clients.
• Ensure high risk victims are referred to MARAC as required.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are reported and escalated.
• Undertake proactive contact with clients, providing emotional and practical support.
• Ensure people are referred to other support agencies to meet their needs and aid recovery
• Provide information about the nature, possible impact, and limitations of the programme.
• Participate in case management process.
• Communicate effectively with other professionals to manage risk.
• Participate in all required training and supervision activities.
• Plan, debrief and undertake the necessary follow-up work in relation to client contact.
• Develop joint working arrangements with other organisations providing support to those at risk from domestic abuse and follow referral pathways to those organisations.
• Make priority contact with people as the need arises, including when there are concerns about an increase in risk.
• Assist with monitoring policies and procedures and producing reports.
• Attend team meetings and training as required
• Communicate with other staff related to activities and work undertaken.

About the role:

The Gray's Inn Road supported accommodation project is a 16-bed short stay accommodation service which holds a critical position in the endeavour to address rough sleeping in the London Borough of Camden. The service, funded by the Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities and the Greater London Authority, in partnership with One Housing Group and Camden council aligns with the strategic vision to make rough sleeping rare, brief, and non-recurrent in Camden. Although there is not a defined maximum stay, the service is designed to be a ‘short stay’ project and will aim to move people on into suitable housing options after 3-6 months.

As a complex needs support worker, your primary purpose is to provide comprehensive, trauma informed support to residents within a psychologically sensitive accommodation setting. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the wellbeing, safety and development of residents.

You will be responsible for holding an individual caseload, undertaking detailed assessments, onwards referrals and adopting a Team Around Me (TAM) approach to support. You will also create tailored interventions to individuals facing multiple disadvantages such as homelessness, mental and physical health challenges, trauma, substance use and contact with the criminal justice system. This will include assisting with practical daily tasks, facilitating access to educational and employment opportunities, maintaining a safe living environment in line with organisational policy.

Your role will also involve daily shift delivery, operational functions and collaboration with key partners and stakeholders such as Connect Forward, Camden Adult Pathway, In Roads substance misuse service, FOCUS and Camden Routes off The Streets. Compliance with health and safety standards, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to relevant policies and procedures are integral aspects of your role. Additionally, your commitment to continuous learning, reflection, and contribution to service improvement initiatives will contribute to the overall quality of care provided to residents.

About you:

• The ability to assist individuals who face multiple disadvantages to identify their personal goals and guide them through the process of change.
• Managing challenging situations in relation to people, including responding calmly to crisis and deal promptly, effectively and safely to complex situations.
• Knowledge of financial support available to clients to ensure income maximisation, rent payment, and increased financial resilience.
• Understanding of professional boundaries and their importance when delivering trauma informed support. This includes demonstrating a non-judgemental approach to working with multi-disadvantaged / complex needs clients and to promote a strengths-based approach.

Chester and Wirral pathway is a community based project that will assist people in hospital ready for discharge home from mental health inpatient settings .

Your role will be in supporting patients in various hospital settings to overcome the barriers to them leaving hospital . This will include being part of MDT meetings , housing and benefits support ,utility reconnection, identifying housing  and a package of 12 week support upon discharge from hospital . Ideally candidates will have good housing experience . This is an agile role that will require travel between hospitals and the community .

Your challenge will be to support individuals with complex mental health needs to feel in control of their care, access mental health support and other local opportunities and build their emotional resilience. You’ll manage a caseload of individuals with mental health concerns, formulating support plans and establishing positive relationships with a range of multidisciplinary organisations.

You’ll need a significant understanding of mental health issues and substantial experience of working within a mental health setting where you dealt with ‘high risk’ clients and managing resources effectively. A good understanding of recovery and coproduction is important too, as is a proven ability to lead, supervise and motivate staff and delegate work appropriately.  Adept at managing conflicting demands and priorities on time, you have a flexible attitude to working hours and, above all, keen to be part of something new and worthwhile that will change lives.

The AFRUCA Child Protection Family Support Service sits within AFRUCA as one of our most impactful programmes targeting families from a range of ethnic backgrounds across England and Wales. The service works closely with local authorities children’s services in cases involving families on child protection plans or in court proceedings. We provide direct one to one training and support for parents to aid their ability to provide appropriate parenting and ensure a safer, happier home environment for their children.

The AFRUCA Child Protection Service currently has a team of five qualified social workers and supports over 50 families each year. We also provide a therapeutic service where children are being reunified with their parents. We are establishing a child protection legal drop in service for families in contact with children’s services and an advocacy service for parents in the child protection system.

Most of our families are referred by local authorities children’s services as a result of cultural and religious practices which are deemed harmful to children’s well-being. We offer qualified social workers who do not wish to work in the statutory sector with an alternative approach to practising social work where empathy, kindness and support is key to our work with families. Our ultimate aim is a reduction of children in Black and Ethnic communities going into or remaining in foster care. Responsibilities & Key Tasks

• Support a caseload of companions to reach their potential through both practical and emotional support.
• Tailor support plans to meet individual need - setting goals, assigning actions, working with other providers and considering the person’s holistic needs.
• Guide induction and exit processes for companions - to ensure that they understand the core principles of the offer at Emmaus and move on to long term, sustainable accommodation after us.
• Support with incident response - including anti-social behaviour, mental health concerns, challenging behaviour - using de-escalation techniques to manage behavior as it arises.

About you:

We are seeking someone who is comfortable and experienced working in a small company or charity, understanding that our capacity and resources are limited. A 'can do' attitude and a motivated approach are essential. While direct experience with homelessness may not be necessary, you should have a solid understanding of the common challenges faced by those who have been homeless. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to identify and promptly address risks or safeguarding concerns. Empathy, attentive listening, and strong verbal communication skills are also key requirements. Proficiency with IT and the ability to maintain up-to-date records in our database are necessary. Additionally, you should have the tools to maintain your well-being in what can be a challenging but rewarding role. You will need to demonstrate and build the resilience required to work with individuals who may struggle to engage with services like ours and think creatively to encourage engagement. While practical experience supporting vulnerable adults is highly desirable, we are also interested in hearing from you if you have transferable skills and a willingness to learn, even if you haven't worked in the homelessness sector before.

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, innovative team player to join our Young People and Families Service in Northern Ireland.  This role will be based in Northern Ireland, in our Belfast Office but will support service delivery across Northern Ireland and the UK.

As a Young People and Families Worker you will work with colleagues, partners, healthcare professionals, schools, volunteers, families and – most importantly – young people to co-plan, deliver and evaluate a high quality, holistic support offer locally and nationally. 

You will help young people living with arthritis to build their confidence, make friends and achieve their personal goals.  This will be achieved by providing one-to-one support, creating peer networks and working with volunteers to co-deliver self-management activities on a variety of topics from sleep management to self-advocacy. 

You’ll also co-design an exciting programme of social events, youth voice opportunities, digital content and residential events.  You will act as the bridge between young people, their families and professionals – especially in healthcare settings where you will play a unique role working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to meet a range of needs.  You will support young people during the pivotal transition from paediatric to adult services, making sure it is a time of empowerment and growth. 

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Experience of working with the third sector, preferably within the fields of youth/community development work and/or health and social care – with a passion for improving the lives of young people. 
• Understanding the importance of self-management and experience of delivering interventions to people living with long term conditions.
• Experience of taking a person-centered approach when providing support. 
• Experience of using a community development/youth work approach to co-design and deliver a quality services /project that is inclusive, inspiring and makes a difference.  Engaging colleagues, funders, supporters and partners to make it happen. 
• Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and safe working policies and procedures. 
• Experience of basic project skills, including supporting evaluation work, writing reports, developing project proposals and managing activity budgets.

*As a hybrid worker the expectation is that you will spend around 40% of your working time in our office spaces or working in community settings. This role is based at our client’s mental health crisis intervention service which provides telephone, email, or face to face support and a “safe space” to adults with mental health diagnosis during evenings and weekends.

Their aim is to understand why someone is at crisis point and work with them to take steps to reduce the crisis and reduce the need for emergency intervention.

• You will greet, assess and provide person centered support to all individuals accessing the service

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our Nottinghamshire Service which works with and supports children and young people involved in and/or vulnerable to sexual exploitation/criminal exploitation and those young people that have required therapeutic support. We also have parent/carer support in place to emotionally support parents and carers that are impacted by exploitation and to raise awareness and increase understanding to enable to them to increase protection for their children.

We also deliver work around 'systems change' that challenge the challenges and barriers that exist within professional systems and processes that may increase further risk and harm for young people. The project supports young people who are wishing to exit the abusive and exploitative relationships/situations they find themselves involved/forced into. It also works preventatively with children and young people in a variety of settings as well as offering training and information sessions to groups of professionals regarding sexual exploitation.

We are currently looking for a creative and resilient person to join our dynamic, ambitious team.

A key part of this role will be your ability to build positive relationships with individual young people by providing intensive one to one support and group work interventions in order to reduce harm and develop their emotional resilience.
