As we continue to grow and expand our operation, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Financial & Operating Officer (CFOO) to join our senior leadership team.

The Role

We are looking for a seasoned and qualified financial & operational leader to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our financial strategy, ensuring strong governance and compliance, and supporting our mission to create lasting change for vulnerable households.

The CFOO will report to the CEO and work closely with them and the Board of Trustees, overseeing financial & internal operations, advising on strategic financial matters, and safeguarding our resources for maximum impact In addition to the financial aspect of the role, the CFOO will support the CEO with the day to day operational running of the trust, overseeing HR, Admin, Compliance and IT functions.  This role also includes leadership responsibilities for a small internal dedicated team and oversight of external contractors and consultants.

The role is home based with some travel to meetings, including overnight stays within the UK as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and develop the Trust's financial strategy, aligned with our mission and long-term goals. 

- Oversee governance, risk, and compliance processes, ensuring that all regulatory and ethical standards are upheld. 

- Present clear, insightful financial reports and analysis to the Board of Trustees, supporting informed decision-making. 

- Develop and oversee the internal systems and processes within the Trust, fostering a culture of accuracy, integrity, and accountability. 

- Work closely with the CEO and senior management team, providing guidance on financial sustainability and risk management. 

- Proactively identify and manage financial risks, ensuring resources are deployed effectively and responsibly. 

About You

- A qualified Chartered Accountant

- An Experienced Financial Strategist with a proven track record in strategic finance within a charitable organisation, foundation,  trust or relevant setting.

- Experience of overseeing both Financial and non-financial internal functions, processes and systems.

- Risk-Aware and Analytical: Skilled at assessing and mitigating risks, with a highly analytical approach to financial & wider risk management. 

- Skilled Communicator: Exceptional ability to communicate financial & wider insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including presenting to the Board of Trustees. 

- Governance and Compliance Expert: Strong knowledge of governance, compliance, and risk management in the charitable sector. 

- A Strong and Supportive Leader: Leadership experience with a small team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. 

- Diplomacy & Commercial Acumen

We are recruiting a Policy Officer to undertake an exciting new role within the Advocacy and Communications Team. You will report to the Director of Advocacy and Communications and work closely with all others in the team.

The purpose of this role is to strengthen LFF’s policy and advocacy efforts. You will be crucial in helping to develop strategic engagement, influence change and strengthen LFF’s impact on public policy, and in doing so, make a significant contribution to the prevention of child sexual abuse.

Bringing together your knowledge and experience engaging with various stakeholders, you will effect change by identifying opportunities to influence decision-making, analyse data to develop policy positions for the organisation, contribute to consultation submissions and provide advice on various policy matters.

Advocacy is one of our three strategic pillars within our current organisational strategy, together with reach and research.  It sits within the wider Advocacy and Communications Team which supports the promotion of all areas of our work across various channels: websites, social media, press and PR, marketing and digital advertising. As we look forward to a new organisational strategy in 2025, we will be embedding advocacy across the organisation and will be striving to better showcase our advocacy work both internally and externally.

About the role

The role of Change Programme Director is a new, fixed-term opportunity. The successful individual will report into the Chief Operating Officer (COO). And provide strategic leadership of the Foundation’s change programme portfolio (Our Future Foundation and Operational Improvement Programme).You will ensure cohesiveness and strategic alignment, and the effective delivery of change outcomes in accordance with best Organisational Development (OD) practices.

A self-starter you will have experience of leading organisation-wide transformation in a complex environment.And successfully deliver to competing priorities and deadlines.

This is a perfect role for a people leader who is astute, has great interpersonal skills and coaches’ multidisciplinary teams to deliver results and grow organisational capability.   As well as delegating for the COO in his role, some other key responsibilities within your role will include:

• Lead on the design, scope, phasing, and approach to the change programme portfolio, ensuring they are optimal, efficient, and enabling the programme to succeed.
• Work with the wider Corporate Services team, develop change capability across the Foundation, enabling colleagues to operate more effectively and deliver greater impact.
• Lead specific organisational development and design projects and workstreams to ensure compliance, best practice, and people-focussed approach to change implementation.
• Lead on the mitigation of risks associated with change programme – including management of complex suite of dependencies.

The British Society for Immunology (BSI) is recruiting a Marketing & Communications Officer to deliver engaging communications to a variety of audiences to drive the reach and influence of the Society’s work.

This role is split equally between supporting activities of the BSI and those of our publishing portfolio. On the BSI side, you will support in the development and delivery our marketing and communications activity through a variety of channels. Activities can include promoting our membership offering to immunologists working in academia, industry and the clinical sector, promoting key activities such as our events or training offerings, and supporting initiatives to raise the importance and influence of immunology. On publishing, marketing activities will be focused on increasing submissions and readership of our official journals, Clinical & Experimental Immunology, Immunotherapy Advances and Discovery Immunology, in particular building the reputation of our newer Open Access journals.

This creative role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills and a passion for science, who is looking to build their expertise and experience working on impactful marketing and communications projects in an innovative charity.

Responsibilities 

Program Finance – supporting the Program Finance Manager to:

• Monitor financial aspects of Freedom Fund grants to partners.

• Assist in commissioning and reviewing partner due diligence assessments.

• Support with monitoring the completion of actions resulting from due diligence assessments of new partners.

• Assist in reviewing partners budgets.

• Review quarterly partner finance reports to ensure these are completed accurately and are compliant with Freedom Fund reporting requirements.

• Prepare and post the journal for partner expenditure into FF finance system (Microsoft Business Central).

• Reconcile partner expenditure balance sheet accounts.

• Maintain program finance information in the grant management system (currently held in Access, transitioning soon to Salesforce). 

• Assist in commissioning and reviewing partner financial reviews.

• Participate in coordination meetings between Finance and Programs teams. 

• Support the assessment of partner financial risk, including maintaining the partner risk summary table and dashboard.

Compliance and Reporting – supporting the Senior Financial Reporting and Compliance Manager to:

• Help monitor compliance with internal policies and procedures across the organisation.

• Help build the capacity of partners in relation to their understanding of Freedom Fund and donor standards/grant conditions (particularly US Government)

• Help to build the capacity of the staff, increasing awareness of key compliance requirements and embedding compliance within organisational culture.

• Ensure the accurate recording of restricted funding within the accounting system.

• Help produce donor budgets and reports. 

• Help produce Freedom Fund departmental budgets and management accounts. 

Other Support for the Finance team 

• Design and implement ad-hoc reports as required

• Assist with donor and year end statutory audits.

• Perform monthly reconciliations between the grant management system (Salesforce) and the accounting system (Microsoft Business Central)

• Assist with month-end balance sheets reconciliations and other related month end tasks

• Help develop and maintain financial guidelines, templates, systems, and procedures as required. 

• Help ensure a strong financial control environment, ensuring accounting records are complete and accurate

• Provide cover for other Finance team members, as required.

• Any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Senior Financial Reporting and Compliance Manager.

Qualifications and experience

• Advanced Excel skills and strong general IT skills.

• Experience working in the Finance department of an International NGO or local NGO funded by international grants.

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

• Experience working with multiple currencies.

The Fundraising Officer - Events role sits in the Events team. This team is responsible for a portfolio of third party organised sports events - such as London Marathon, Tough Mudder, Cardiff Half and skydives - that will raise more than £4.5 million in the next financial year.

The Events team is a part of a wider Community, Events and Products Fundraising team. Our vision is to engage, grow and inspire a community of passionate fundraisers to power the fight for mental health. Because together, we can change lives.

You'll play a pivotal role in the Community, Events and Products Fundraising team's strategic objective to sustain and improve the portfolio to raise £12.9million by March 2026

This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover a secondment.

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

-Steward event participants; this could include undertaking welcome calls, sending supporter communications, providing ongoing fundraising support, following up non-payments, personalised thanking, and supporter surveys. This can be done across a range of channels including mail, email, and telephone, online and face to face.

-Attend events to help enhance our supporters experience and deepen their relationship with Mind.

-Work with the Senior Fundraising Officer to deliver events fundraising activity. This can include planning, writing and submitting briefs, generating marketing and stewardship communications, working with third party agencies, setting up web pages, delivering memorable on the day experiences for our supporters, reporting and analysing live activity and conducting evaluations.

-Analyse and interpret data, including marketing and stewardship performance, and adjust tactics to continuously improve and ensure results are met.

-Produce high quality analysis reports for activities, including recommendations to inform and improve future fundraising.

-Work with our media agency and internal Digital Teams to achieve Mind's digital-first strategy, attending training opportunities with internal teams and external agencies to upskill as needed, and thinking digital-first in the briefing of all new activity.

-Maintain high standards of data capture by ensuring data entered on systems are accurate and timely, in accordance with the team's requirements.

We'd like to hear from you if you have the following:

-Experience and a proven track record of managing volunteers to undertake a fundraising activity and exceed their targets.

- A commitment to understanding Mind's audiences and delivering a memorable fundraising experience through excellent marketing and stewardship.

- Ability to interpret and analyse data and use insight to improve performance and help inform future strategies.

- Excellent project management skills, including managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to use initiative to work alone ensuring work is planned, prioritised, and organised to achieve set deadlines.

- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deal with people at all levels and in all walks of life, on the telephone, face-to-face and in written communication, in fluent English.

- A strong influencer with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build authentic and effective relationships and encourage participants to exceed fundraising targets and do more for Mind.

-Experience of using appropriate IT suite and level of programmes associated with the role including databases, digital platforms and financial system. Ability to adapt to and use new technologies to complete tasks.

We are seeking a Head of Communications and Marketing to lead on the charity's communications strategy.

The Head of Communications and Marketing is a strategically important post in the organisation with lead responsibility for overseeing communications, marketing and PR for the UK’s only national cleft lip and palate support charity. The role involves managing all aspects of internal and external communications including media relations, digital content and brand strategy. 

The role reports directly to the Chief Executive, is a member of the Senior Management Team and works closely with the CLAPA Board of Trustees to ensure that we maximise all opportunities to promote the work of the charity.  The post holder also has responsibility for the direct line management of the Communications and Marketing team.

·Provide leadership, strategic and operational oversight of Rainbow Haven.

·(with the Trustee Board) Ensure the long-term financial sustainability of Rainbow Haven.

·Develop and oversee the delivery of high quality services in response to changing external and internal pressures. 

·Ensure appropriate support for an experienced and committed staff team.

·Maintain effective partnerships and develop new partnerships across statutory and voluntary sectors to enhance the range, volume and quality of the services Rainbow Haven can offer.

At Bipolar UK we are passionate about improving understanding of mental health and empowering people affected by bipolar to lead their best lives.

Every month we empower 1,000 people to stay well and we plan to support many more. We offer specialist information and resources through our website, host over 80 peer support groups monthly and offer a 1-1 peer support line and moderated eCommunity. We also work with research organistions and campaign to ensure bipolar voices are heard.

The Senior Marketing Officer will work closely with the communications team, stakeholders and an external agency to develop strategic, audience-driven campaign assets and deliver an impactful and integrated awareness campaign. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact in mental health and improve lives across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of developing, delivering and evaluating high-profile integrated marketing campaigns, working to tight deadlines, prioritising a high workload, together with excellent written and verbal communications skills and experience of developing a range of emotionally engaging content for multi-media channels is essential. 

Knowledge of current digital marketing trends, an understanding of SEO best practices and experience of managing complex relationships with agencies, external suppliers, funders and a wide range of internal stakeholders is also essential.
