The Role
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.
The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.
You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
- To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.
- Support the work of the Safeguarding board, providing expert briefing, analysis and recommendations as required by the board.
- To act as an additional Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting the work of the existing Designated Safeguarding Leads as required.
- To lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the new safeguarding policy, using a risk-based approach to embedding it in parliamentary activities, structures and culture.
- To establish a network of local safeguarding co-ordinators across Parliamentary teams
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Experience of successfully implementing safeguarding policy and guidance in an environment which, like Parliament, is a mixed-use site, with a wide range of activities and stakeholders. Evidence of using a risk-based approach to deliver robust and proportionate training, procedures and guidance in support of meeting statutory obligations.
- Specialist knowledge of safeguarding relating to children and adults at risk, with a demonstrable understanding of current legislation, including core principles and current best practice, and the ability to apply this in a pragmatic way relevant to our organisational context.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across organisational boundaries and teams. Able to confidently engage with and influence people at all levels within the organisation, including senior leaders.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to meet demand and deadlines whilst taking full responsibility for the quality of the work delivered both individually and through others.

Role Purpose
To develop and deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project across London, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The post holder will work closely with the Virtual College and Leaving Care teams within London Borough Councils and local volunteers to ensure that we improve and empower the lives of care leavers (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.
Key Duties Responsibilities
· To effectively deliver the service to ensure the project meets its agreed targets and millstones.
· Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and local authority staff at a day-to day level.
· To ensure volunteers are recruited, appropriately trained and supported in their role; this will involve processing volunteer expenses, DBS checks and maintaining databases.
· To ensure regular communication between project staff and volunteers is maintained and that regular supervision for volunteers is provided.
· To work with your line manager to ensure project expenditure is in line with the budget.
· To maintain accurate administration, for all aspects of the project.
· To maintain accurate records on all aspects of the project and submit data onto a secure database.
· To manage and maintain effective monitoring and evaluation records to capture impact and outcomes and ensure contractual compliance.

We have a job vacancy for a Dementia Specialist to join Shine as the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator.
Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.
In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just over 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows.

The Centre for Computing History is an accredited museum and charity situated in Cambridge, with collections and learning at its heart. The museum's core purpose is to increase understanding of the history of computing by exploring its social, cultural and historical impact.

Role Summary
We're now seeking a talented, energetic and efficient Project Coordinator to oversee this exploratory project.
The Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, run by the Museums Association, aims to encourage participatory practice in museums, and this concept lies at the heart of this project. Participatory practice means involving visitors and communities in the creation and interpretation of museum exhibitions, programs, and events content – asking for stories about objects in the collection, rather than assuming we know what the most important stories are. This approach is inclusive, encourages visitors to feel ownership and helps museums discover untold stories about their collections.
We are looking for someone special to co-ordinate this process and exploit our unique platform to raise awareness of environmental issues and e-waste and to create change. The Project Co-ordinator will take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the Broken Earth Project, including working closely with all external and internal stakeholders, monitoring progress, and ensuring project milestones are met. This new fixed-term role is a critical part of the project and crucial to its success.

You will have part time staff support and will organise a team of volunteers, working closely with other Asylum Welcome staff and services to help young people under and over 18 to settle and thrive locally.

Job Description
Report to: Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering
Responsible for: Leading the food distribution service and quality assurance at Hackney Foodbank’s allocated Food Distribution Centres located across the borough of Hackney. This includes ensuring all our visitors have a positive experience when collecting their food parcels and are signposted to other provisions appropriately; being responsible for directing the volunteers, working closely with the Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering, Health and Safety, and promoting best practice at each centre. This role will also involve administrative tasks, organising and carrying out home deliveries for visitors, inputting data on visitors’ journeys accurately into a database, driving the Hackney Giving Van occasionally and regularly driving a Luton van to the various Distribution Centres.
Part-time: 25 hours per week, evening and/or weekend work is required
Salary: £27,500 per year (pro-rata for 25 hours per week)
Compulsory: Must have a UK manual driving licence
Specific responsibilities:
· Attend Hackney Foodbank’s Food Distribution Centres to ensure each Centre is run in accordance with HFB’s best practice procedures.
· Treat visitors to the Food Distribution Centres with the utmost respect
· Work with volunteers to ensure a safe and efficient setup, including H&S responsibilities
· Manage all volunteers on site delivering services
· Ensure effective data capture and input onto the system
· Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure relevant and up-to-date signposting partnerships and referral systems are working efficiently
· Confident in responding to telephone and email inquiries from referral agencies and visitors
· Manage system for home deliveries for visitors who have access issues
