We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Direct Marketing and Fundraising Officer to join our Public Fundraising team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our fundraising activities, particularly during appeals, where your coordination skills will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Appeal Coordination:
- Assist the Direct Marketing Manager - Acquisition in keeping member agency fundraising directors and key suppliers up to date in the run-up to and during appeals.
- Update the fundraising and marketing team budget tracker, ensuring accurate financial tracking throughout the appeal process.
- Support the setup and management of Appeal Toolkits and Appeal Hubs, providing essential assets to staff, member agencies, and suppliers.
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of creative projects across all direct marketing channels, ensuring timely and effective execution.
- Work with the team to gather and report appeal results, providing updates to the Director of Fundraising and Marketing, Executive Team, and CEO’s office.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage review meetings with suppliers’ post-appeal, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Monitor and update core and appeal budgets, processing invoices and ensuring financial accuracy.
- Support the Director of Fundraising and Marketing in organizing and managing the Fundraising Director’s Group meetings, including diary coordination, preparing presentations, and taking minutes.
- Provide general administrative support to the Fundraising and Marketing team, including setting up monthly team meetings, organizing agendas, and coordinating away days.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in project coordination and administrative support, ideally within a fundraising or marketing environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience with budget tracking and financial processes.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work well within a team.

We’re looking for an Events and Community Fundraising Officer to join our team
Salary: £30,000
Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid
Hours: Full time and permanent. 35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am – 6pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

Over the past few years, Families in Grief (FiG) has grown significantly to meet the needs of our North Devon and Torridge community. We have just completed a piece of work to expand our reach, enhance our accessibility to healthcare professionals and schools, and broaden our range of services to better support children, young people and families who have been bereaved. The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Officer holds a central role in ensuring the quality, impact, and accountability of WAG’s projects through the implementation of comprehensive Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems. This role is designed to support fostering projects MEAL systems, ensuring learning and quality improvement in projects implementation. By leading the implementation of robust projects MEAL activities, the officer ensures that project insights and data are effectively harnessed for continuous improvement, aligning with performance indicators. This position supports the Programme Performance and Effectiveness Manager in capacity-building for program teams, ensuring that MEAL is leveraged for knowledge management and innovation. This position exists to support the creation of a culture of accountability and learning, where project delivery and effectiveness is continually improved through best MEAL practices, contributing directly to the overarching goals of the national program and WaterAid's mission.
In this role, you will Lead in planning and implementation of MEAL systems for projects, ensuring alignment with WaterAid's PMER Core Procedures, M&E System, M&E policy and guidelines as well as Hold regular project reflection meetings and data quality assessments and ensure effective use of monitoring data for adaptive management.
You’ll also:
- Enhance community involvement in MEAL processes, ensuring that projects meet donor and organizational MEL standards.
- Support the planning and implementation of CP Annual M&E Plan and Learning Agendas and Annual Review Meetings

To be successful, you’ll need to be Degree in Development Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Research, Quantitative Analysis.
- Demonstrated capacity in implementing MEAL, including the working of consultants.
- Proven effectiveness in facilitating training and building the capacity of partners and community members.

The Role
The Supporter Journey Team is responsible for delivering world-class behavioural journeys for our charity partners.
You will ensure that we are continuously providing the best supporter journeys in the sector by designing, building, delivering and optimising omni-channel behavioural journeys at scale, in turn delivering value to our clients.
Working across both Social Mind and Social Sync, you will join an existing team reporting into our Campaign Manager and you will ensure all our charity partners and their supporters receive personal, bespoke communications to maximise fundraising for our charity partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development:
- Develop comprehensive, integrated journeys for supporters across multiple channels.
- Ensure these journeys are behavioural and provide a great stewardship experience for supporters.
- Performance Analysis:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of supporter journeys.
- Analyse key metrics to assess the contribution of these journeys to overall goals, for example, email open and click through rates.
- Optimisation and Supporter Experience:
- Identify areas for improvement within existing journeys.
- Propose and implement enhancements based on testing and learning outcomes.
- React to key performance indicators (KPIs) to pinpoint opportunities for journey improvements to help drive campaign performance and income.
- Make data-driven decisions to refine and improve the journeys.
- Commit to delivering a high-quality experience for all supporters.

Skills and Knowledge
- Experience of designing, creating and delivering outstanding supporter experiences that increase engagement, fundraising rates and average value.
- Ability to understand our charity partners objectives and translating that into exceptional supporter experiences at scale.
- Ability to analyse data and make recommendations that improve fundraising and the supporter experience.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience of writing stewardship copy and ability to adopt different charity’s tone of voice.
- Experience of using communication software.
- Be comfortable operating in a fast paced start up environment, working efficiently at pace with available resources.

To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have experience of community fundraising involving relationship-building, planning, and generating a response to a call to action with experience of community fundraising in a Christian context being desirable.
- Be a passionate and convincing public speaker, with experience of speaking/presenting in a Christian context; being a qualified preacher and/or worship leader in a church tradition would be an advantage but is not a requirement.
- Have experience of generating and following up on new opportunities. Experience of project management in a professional context will be an advantage but is not a requirement.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills and proven ability to communicate both stories and data.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability and willingness to communicate to diverse audiences. To be comfortable communicating to Christian groups and individuals.
