We are looking for an experienced and proactive Administrator with good organisational skills, an eye for detail and people skills to join us at The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), a medical charity focussing on supporting doctors to deliver medical imaging and cancer services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the high performing RCR Exams Quality Team. In this varied role the Examiner and Committee Administrator will be high functioning and able to multitask to support and service the RCR’s exam committee meetings. You will provide secretariat support for committee as well as organising facilities, travel, accommodation, dinners, and expenses as well as manage the examiner recruitment, induction and training process. 

The successful candidate will be a good communicator, able to work collaboratively with colleagues, examiners, and chairs of relevant committees. With excellent administrative skills it is important that the successful candidate has a commitment to providing a professional, friendly and proactive service.

What you will do: 

• Coordinate committee meetings in person, online or hybrid routinely or as when needed. 
• Prepare committee agendas, source papers for timely circulation.
• Keep accurate records including updating the CRM and website. 
• Manage examiner recruitment materials, acting as main point of contact for applicants. 
• Support examiners with travel and accommodation bookings.
• Evaluate and grow our examiner appreciation work.

• Experience providing high quality support service. 
• Experience in providing administrative support and managing administrative processes. 
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

About the Team:

The Water Security Senior Advisor is a senior position in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the Water Security Lead. The WASH Technical Effectiveness team is situated within the Programme Support and Knowledge Team (PSK) of the WaterAid UK International Programmes Department (IPD).

IPD operates in 17 African and Asian countries. PSK is a diverse and motivated group of 20+ technical specialists and advisors, passionate about bringing sustainable WASH to the world's poorest and most marginalised people. PSK leads and supports organisation-wide programme learning and knowledge management, collating and disseminating programme knowledge and facilitating knowledge exchange.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Water Security Lead, the Senior Advisor Water Security co-leads the delivery of core team responsibilities regarding the thematic areas of water and other closely associated topics. Applying a people-centered, systems strengthening approach to WASH, they provide high-quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid's programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.

In collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues, they co-lead the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and co-leads the development of relevant standards and guidance.

The Water Security Senior Advisor will:

Provide and coordinate targeted technical support to Wateraid programming (approximately 50% of time)

• Provide in-depth strategic and technical advisory support on water security, water resources and environment, catchment and watershed protection, hydrogeology, water supply, water quality, services delivery and management models, engineering and procurement, assets management, resilience, sustainability, and/or other inter-related topics for high quality WASH programming in both urban and rural, low-income settings, including households, schools, health care facilities and/or other relevant public places, incorporating WaterAid's and the sector's leading practices, innovations and methods.
• Coordinate with other technical colleagues for coherent embedding of cross-cutting topics such as gender, climate, systems strengthening, finance, and partnerships.
• Provide high quality, detailed technical analysis and advisory support to project design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments.
• Co-lead the facilitation of thought leadership on these technical topics across the organisation. Act as a subject-matter authority.

Support programme learning and knowledge management (approx. 15% time)

• Co-lead capturing of organisational programme knowledge and experience on water-related topics.
• Co-lead facilitation of effective learning and knowledge management on these topics across the organisation. Guide and support country and regional colleagues to do the same.
• Identify knowledge and implementation gaps on these topics. Coordinate with relevant teams to develop and carry out practical research plans.

Support development of programme guidance and standards (approx. 5% time)

• Co-lead the development of water-related normative frameworks, standards and guidance materials for both internal and external audiences in collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues.
• Support country, regional and global colleagues to develop a consistent understanding and application of water-related technical considerations into WaterAid's core programme work, and in applying relevant guidance, standards and considerations to their specific context.

Support fundraising, external engagement, and communications (approx. 20% time)

• Support donor engagement, intelligence gathering, and preparation of funding proposals.
• Provide strategic technical input into specific strategic initiatives and positioning alongside the other advisors.
• Coordinate with other teams in jointly engaging the WASH sector at all levels. Foster, promote and support global WASH related networks to enhance WaterAid's ability to share its experience and to learn from others.

Contribute to team processes (approx. 10% time)

• Be an integral part of the PSK team, helping to ensure the integration of our support work and a joined-up articulation of our core framing materials.
• Support PSK annual planning, budgeting, and reporting processes

About You:

• Strong technical experience in water supply engineering, groundwater development, water resource and environmental management, catchment and watershed protection, hydrogeology, water quality, service delivery and management models, procurement, asset management, resilience building, sustainability, and/or other inter-related topics across different settings, demonstrated through a progressive career record.
• A relevant post-Graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong experience in offering technical assistance, consulting, and/or advisory services to empower and to develop capacities.
• Ability to handle highly specialized, unusual, and challenging technical assignments, resolve complex issues in practical and imaginative ways.
• Strong writing ability in English. Experienced in producing practical knowledge products targeting the needs of diverse audiences.
• Working style that reflects WaterAid's values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation.
• Solid IT skills, particularly with core Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 30%.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Relevant technical experience in systems strengthening, sustainable development, sanitation, hygiene, behaviour change, health, gender, inclusion, environment and/or other WASH-related topics.
• Working knowledge in French, Portuguese, Spanish, and/or any language widely spoken in the countries where WaterAid has programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Will contribute fully to the day to day operation of their team or area, with flexibility and without the need for close supervision
• Using a good degree of proficiency and well - established professional knowledge, will analyse and help to find solutions to challenges and issues that arise
• Support the Alpha Financial Controller in running the reporting and reconciliation systems of Alpha
• Complete monthly reconciliations (such as accruals and prepayments), as directed by the Alpha Financial Controller or with the Processing Team, if the need arises.
• Work with Accounting Processing Team on their monthly reconciliations, providing support on purchase and sales ledger
• Review the twice-monthly purchase ledger payments and monthly payroll for Alpha providing first-time compliance and accuracy checks.
• Review the monthly credit card payments for Alpha to make sure compliance with the expense policy and accuracy checks.
• Take responsibility with the Alpha Financial Controller for ensuring strong financial controls, good governance, and statutory compliance
• Assist the Alpha Finance Director and Financial Controller with projects on an ad-hoc basis.
• Detailed monthly bank reconciliation for Alpha with queries sent to responsible person for posting.
• Assist the Alpha Risk and Governance Team with Due diligence on grants outward –ensuring these are recorded completely and accurately; and that due diligence requirements are followed up, assessed, and filed
• Take responsibility for detailed analysis and reconciliation of all regional expenditure and income analysis
• Monthly Intercompany reconciliations and follow up

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Officer.

As our reach and impact has increased significantly in recent years, so has our income, and this new role has been created in response to that demand.  This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser who wants to widen, or consolidate, their knowledge and experience of fundraising, in an international context, as well as gain communications experience.

We are a very small team so the role will cover a breadth of funding streams, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations, High Value Donors, and Events, both special and community.  It is therefore important that you have excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and solid experience of crafting successful funding applications.  You will also need excellent planning and organisational skills.

The role can, to some extent, be shaped by the skills and experience of the successful candidate, but it is likely to include the following responsibilities.

 Key Responsibilities

• Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. Alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, the post holder will be responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors and taking responsibility for their own portfolio of donors.
• Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
• ​​External communications: working alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, assisting in the creation of our quarterly e-newsletter and the Annual Report, managing our social media channels, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
• Events: supporting our community and events fundraisers and assisting with the organisation of occasional special events, alongside Board members.

Person Specification

Experience of working in a smaller charity and team is beneficial as this is a very hands-on role, covering a wide range of responsibilities.

About the role

This is an awesome role focussed on improving our ways of working and processes when it comes to those who support us. We want all of our supporters to have a first class experience when they decide to donate their time and/or money to supporting children and young people with cancer and their families. However we know that as an organisation we have more to do to make this happen and the time is now.

Working in Income Generation, this role will take a recently conducted diagnostic carried out by a business improvement consultant and not only work through the next steps but make change happen, prioritising the areas with the biggest wins. This role really will have a lasting legacy in the organisation.

We're not just looking for someone to map change, this person will lead operational design and process re-engineering that transforms the Income Generation directorate and it's workforce into high achievers. 

You’ll be based within the Project Management Office (PMO), a supportive team of professionals that lead transformational change across the organisation as well as corporate planning. You’ll also have close relationship with the Head of Planning and Strategy in Income Generation as well as the Associate Director Supporter Engagement.

What will I be doing?

Populo Living are partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell in their search for a permanent Head of Finance – Treasury and Financial Planning. Populo Living is a development and housing company wholly owned by a single shareholder, Newham Council. Populo Living enable Newham to keep control of Council land and build high quality, low carbon homes and neighbourhoods whilst retaining the developer profit for Newham Council, in the form of new affordable homes and long-term investment income.

The role of Head of Finance – Treasury and Financial Planning will lead, manage and co-ordinate the provision of the Groups Financial Planning, Treasury Management Services and Management Accounting functions as well as assist the Finance Director to lead and manage the Finance team.

The role:

• Lead, manage and motivate a team of four with two direct reports.
• Lead on all treasury related matters for the group such as arranging new funding, loan compliance, cashflow and banking.
• Lead on the organisation’s annual financial plan, including extensive sensitivity analysis of key performance indicators.
• Lead on the review of management accounts and production of board papers.
• Attend relevant committees and board meetings as required.
• Build strong collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders.
• Deputise for the Director of Finance and Resources as required.
• Support the Financial Controller to deliver year end accounts.

• Oversee cashflow forecasting, managing all cash and loan balances.

Essential criteria:

• Fully qualified Accountant.
• Previous experience working in either social housing, a commercial house builder or residential lettings.
• Experience developing and delivering on treasury strategy.
• Technical knowledge around long term planning AND management accounting forecasting.
• Strong people management skills as well as being resilient and have an appetite for change.

This position requires someone able to commit to working three days per week from Populo’s head office in Stratford. Benefits include 30 days of annual leave and an employee pension contribution scheme of 10%.
