We have an exciting new opportunity for a Conference and Events Officer to join our Engagement team at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. We're looking for someone with proven events experience and strong digital skills to help us deliver high-quality, inclusive events in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

The Conference and Events Officer will support the delivery of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events, working closely with colleagues, venues and suppliers to ensure everything runs efficiently and accessibly.

Key Responsibilities:

As Conference and Events Officer, you'll support the planning and delivery of a wide range of events. You'll be involved in the full event cycle - from logistics and registration to on-the-day coordination and post-event evaluation.

• Project lead on planning, coordination and delivery of designated physical, hybrid and virtual events
• Oversee effective and accurate set up and maintenance of event registration platforms, ensuring a smooth attendee experience
• Lead on venue visits and support with venue and stakeholder discussions
• Proactively champion accessibility and inclusion across all events to ensure equitable participation
• Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to support collaborative planning
• Support event marketing, including webpage content and digital promotions
• Take ownership of event logistic tasks assigned by the Conference and Events Manager
• Represent the team at stakeholder meetings where required
• Work with colleagues including the Symposium Event Manager and Celebrity Relations & Partnerships Manager to deliver key event logistics

About You:

You'll bring experience of supporting events and have a proactive and organised approach. The Conference and Events Officer role requires someone who is confident, adaptable, and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

• Experience delivering in-person, hybrid and virtual events
• Skilled in using CRM systems to support event delivery
• Able to travel and transport event materials when needed
• Willingness to work outside standard hours and stay overnight occasionally
• Strong digital skills, including event software (e.g. EventsAir) and webpage updates
• Understanding of digital marketing tools such as Dotdigital
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication
• Experience working with a range of stakeholders and suppliers
• Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple projects

Working arrangements

This is 12 month fixed term contract. 

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

About you

The Director of Finance & Operations will direct, administer and coordinate the financial, governance, HR, IT and operational activities of the charity in accordance with company policies and the Strategic Plan established by the Chief Executive (CE) and the Board of Trustees, and to assure the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the planning, delivery and reporting of these activities.

Would you like to be involved in this new opportunity to support young people in Swansea develop the skills needed for the world of work?

Believe: Positive Destinations is a 12 week work readiness programme for young people aged 16 to 25.  The programme, part funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, has been developed specifically for young people who have little or no experience of the world of work. It is a holistic programme, it will support them to develop workplace skills, build their aspirations, increase self-confidence as well as providing them with strategies to manage their wellbeing. 

As the Project Co-ordinator you will assist the CSM with the development of this new service. This will include building a network of work placement providers and referral sources. You will be the main contact for placement providers and will provide direct support to participants to ensure they are achieving their potential. You will be responsible for delivering the programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants.

What does the job role involve:

• Promotion of the service at networking events and online.
• Establish a network of appropriate placement providers throughout Swansea and be the main contact for placement supervisors for the duration of the placement.
• Establish links with organisations who will be referring into the service, this will include Education, Leaving Care and NEET services.
• Delivery of a 12 week work readiness programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants including the delivery of Agored Cymru accredited units.
• Supporting young people to achieve their development goals.
• Responsibility for gathering and collating relevant data and contribution to report writing as per the request of the service manager and the commissioner of service.
• Tracking service user progress through the use of outcomes scoring over the duration of the programme and after exit, using a young person centred approach.
• Provide advice and guidance to PW1s in manager's absence.
• Standard service operating hours will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm Friday, however the role requires some flexibility around hours as we support young people around their needs.

• Experience of working with young people aged 16 to 25 years in a one to one and group work context.
• Experience of working with young people who are NEET (not engaged in education, employment or training) in a relevant setting.
• Experience of delivering group work programmes.

• Experience of mentoring or taking on a leadership role.

Smart Works is looking for a Head of Data & Impact to play a pivotal part in ensuring that Smart Works is a data-driven organisation, where insight and analysis underpin strategic decision-making and service delivery. 

At its core, this position is responsible for overseeing the how the charity measures impact. The successful candidate will lead on management of the charity’s central database—used across all centres—to manage client, volunteer and referrer information. This includes coordinating system updates, working with external contractors, and maintaining data integrity and functionality across the board.

Job Description

To provide advocacy support to a caseload of clients with complex mental health needs, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues. CARA’s advocacy service focuses primarily on meeting the needs of some of our most complex clients – victims and survivors who would be unable to access other advocacy services.  The role will also involve supporting the wider CARA team in signposting other clients to external advocacy agencies, as appropriate and attendance at CARA groups to provide a drop-in advocacy surgery.

Main Responsibilities

·To manage a caseload of complex clients seeking short and long-term advocacy support, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues.

·To manage referrals in to CARA’s Advocacy service, ensuring clients meet the referral criteria.

·To provide line-management for CARA’s social care placement worker and potential future advocacy volunteers.

·To assess all new referrals to CARA’s advocacy services, allocating cases to members of the advocacy team, as appropriate.

·To liaise with other agencies, receiving and making referrals and ensuring that they understand CARA’s role and services.

·To gather information about local and national agencies and manage storage and display of this material at CARA.  To work with CARA’s Integrated Support and Advocacy Manager to create a directory of services that can be used by all the CARA team.

·To support CARA’s group work, including attendance to provide advocacy support and supporting other activities.

·To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.

·To maintain and collate evaluation data, testimonials or case studies for distribution.

·To adhere to CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding procedures.

Job Title: Partnerships Engagement Coordinator (Inspiring the Future)

Purpose: This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a newly created post in the role of Partnerships Engagement Coordinator for Education and Employers on the internationally recognised Inspiring the Future programme. The Charity aims to ensure that all young people have the inspiration, motivation, knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to help them achieve their potential.

This key post is part of the Partnerships Team with responsibility for supporting the team to deliver various showcase virtual and face-to-face events and activities involving a diverse range of volunteers from the world of work. The role is rewarding and varied and will include supporting delivery of funded partnerships and general administrative support. 

Remuneration: £24-25k per annum

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Partnerships Manager and working closely with colleagues in the Partnerships Team, the Partnerships Engagement Coordinator is responsible for working closely with volunteers and school staff to support successful delivery of interactive activities aimed at schools and young people under key funded projects for the charity’s Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes. These programmes leverage technology to raise the aspirations and broaden the horizons of children and young people by connecting them to a huge range of volunteers from the world of work via career related learning activities.

The Partnerships team are responsible for relationship management of the key corporate and charity partners for the charity’s Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes. Partners cover a range of sectors and employment areas and our employer partnerships provide partners employees with the opportunity to engage with schools, and reach many children and young people across the UK, both virtually and in-person.

This role will be split between supporting organisation of activities related to our corporate partners and delivering activities to schools across parts of the country. There is opportunity to interface directly with children and young people from both secondary and primary schools. through facilitating virtual and in person interactive activities with volunteers.

• Monitoring new event registrations from schools and sending welcome emails, keeping this up to date with the latest opportunities and messaging for schools
• Supporting the engagement of employers and volunteers in special activities within funded projects.
• Tracking and reporting back to Partnership Manager and Events Lead on delivery against agreed targets
• Using Salesforce CRM to support with data management, assisting with maintaining up to date records and supporting data cleansing as needed
• Recruiting and engaging schools according to the geographic or sector focus of a funded partnership
• Setting up virtual and face-to-face activities including school liaison, securing volunteers, organising events via the Inspiring the Future system and hosting on tech platforms (Zoom, MS Teams etc)
• Facilitating interactive virtual and face to face activities to connect pupils with volunteers through themed sessions, Q&A or job guessing-game format.
• Supporting and co-hosting teacher training sessions, staff meetings and info webinars to promote Inspiring the Future and encourage engagement and independent usage of the platform.

• Support the collection of feedback and data after each event to measure impact

The charity runs Inspiring Governance the free governor recruitment and support service. This Department for Education funded service aims to get highly skilled volunteers to serve as governors in some of the most disadvantaged schools in England and in so doing help raise educational achievement.

Since the Charity’s launch it has sought to understand what difference employer engagement in education makes to young people and the economy. It works with academics and researchers from around the world and its own research is regularly cited by government and international organisations like the OECD. The research, which has informed and influenced a range of government policies, shows that employer engagement helps improve social mobility, reduces the likelihood of young people becoming NEET (not in education, employment of training), increases the amount they earn in adult life, helps them make better informed career choices and leads to improvements in educational attainment.

About the project 

The proposed service Kineara aims to provide is a Community-Based Housing Advice and Support Service for lone parents living in TA (Temporary Accommodation) and to provide a prevented service that advice and support lone parents living in PRS and social rented accommodation, where their tenancies is insecure.

This service will address urgent housing concerns, provide essential advice, and offer tailored, intensive support for those with complex needs. The project will focus on delivering maximum reach through our outreach while maintaining smaller 1:1 caseload for high-needs cases.

About the role 

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate community -based housing advice and support worker. This role involves conducting community drop- in surgeries which will be delivered across Lambeth Schools, Children’s Centres, Community Groups, GP practices and

Housing Advice Surgeries offering face-to-face housing advice, legal support (where necessary), and signposting to additional service.

You will have experience of working with families and individuals with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic person who has empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to working with clients and who thrives when working independently with a passion to support change. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of housing policies and tenants' rights, experience of delivering holistic support, be a solution-minded thinker, have a good understanding of strength-based approaches and be able work committing to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of work. To work as part of a team and independently, the roles require you to think creatively and use the resources around you effectively. 

Strong partnerships will be essential to the project’s success. Building on relationships developed through the Homeward consortium, you will work closely with local schools, Lambeth Council, children’s centres, community organisations, and legal advisors to ensure meaningful signposting and wraparound support for families.

The successful candidate will work with clients to identify their needs and offer tailored solutions to help them achieve sustainable housing outcomes. In this role, you will be working in partnership with community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to address their housing issues. The objective of the programme is to provide advice and support to clients who have problems related to their housing and to improve wellbeing and awareness of tenancy rights and housing polices.
