Since 2004, Village Water has been dedicated to transforming lives in Africa by providing vital support in hygiene promotion, sanitation facilities, and safe water (WASH) in rural communities of Zambia and Mozambique.

Key information:  

Location: Remote working. (UK only) Must be able to attend a minimum of 5 mandatory meetings per year (includes overnight stay for 2-day meetings) at our office in Shrewsbury and occasional meetings elsewhere. 
Contract: Permanent. Full time 37.5 hours a week.  

Salary: Between £30,000 – £35,000 a year depending on experience. 

Benefits and entitlements:  Matched pension contributions - 7% of salary after probationary period, 5 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays and discretionary Christmas shut down.

Job Purpose  

To maximise income for Village Water’s work from corporates (UK and International) & to develop and manage your own portfolio of existing corporates and research and prioritise new opportunities ensuring high quality stewardship to secure ongoing support. This role will focus on networking, delivering compelling pitches to corporates, organise and support corporate fundraising events, preparing high-quality funding applications and reports, providing exceptional account management, and fostering cross-team collaboration. 

Responsibilities  

Corporate Fundraising 

• Develop, implement, and sustain a dynamic corporate fundraising portfolio, maintaining a well-organised pipeline of funding opportunities. 

• Attend and contribute to networking events, while actively organising events to foster relationships with new and existing corporate donors. 

• Identify and pursue corporate funding opportunities by aligning proposals with companies' ESG policies, emphasising shared values and potential partnerships. 

• Establish and nurture relationships with Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) to unlock new support avenues. 

• Work closely with colleagues to develop compelling proposals and reports that effectively communicate the organisation's impact and funding needs. 

• Coordinate with monitoring and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors, adhering to grant conditions and budget requirements. 

• Maintain precise and well-managed donor information in the organisation’s database to facilitate efficient tracking and follow-up. 

• Organise pop-up events for and with corporate partners to enhance engagement and visibility. 

• Support fundraising team with social media content ideas that highlight our activities and showcases the impact. 

General   

• Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, external suppliers, and local partners to advance organisational goals. 

• Participate in and report during weekly team meetings and, when necessary, at Trustee meetings. 

• Provide assistance for other fundraising initiatives as needed, promoting a collaborative work environment and supporting the overall fundraising efforts of the organisation. 

• Ensure compliance with the organisation's safeguarding policies by completing all required training. 

Skills and experience: 

• Demonstrated ability to secure funds from new corporate partners, with experience in winning awards exceeding £10,000. 

• Confident and skilled in delivering presentations to a diverse range of supporters, whether in groups, individually, in person, or remotely. 

• Proven experience in crafting persuasive cases for support and donor updates that motivate giving. 

• Expertise in building and maintaining strong donor relationships to ensure sustained support. 

• Strong writing skills for creating compelling cases for support and effectively presenting the organisation’s work to potential donors. 

• Ability to develop, analyse, and interpret budgets and financial information. 

• Proficient in using databases for fundraising performance analysis.

The opportunity:

Working within the Impact and Investment team, you will support Better Society Capital to manage and leverage impact and system change data, processes and our tools, to enable effective data driven insights to help decision making, drive our strategy and support market building.

The Interim Data & Impact Director will play an important role in defining the way we manage our impact and systems change data by designing workflows and processes to ensure an effective flow of data across our investment process and translating this into impact management information and insight. The role will also help support key impact projects and influence the impact practices of other market players.

What you will do:

Portfolio Data: Impact & Systems Change

•  Lead on developing our impact and system change data management architecture and infrastructure to create a ‘data-on demand’ environment. This includes designing workflows to collect and receive impact data from fund managers, aggregating with existing portfolio data, and presenting for insights, learning, and decision making, including the creation of data dashboards and other tools.

• Oversee the impact and systems change data stored on Salesforce and other management information systems ensuring it is up-to-date and accurate and designing workflows to process and report on the data.

• Lead on the design, data collation, analysis and presentation of the investment portfolio’s impact performance for our annual impact and systems change performance committee.

• Supporting the impact manager to deliver the annual impact report, leading on our data input.

• Creation of reports and presentations that are engaging, user-friendly, insightful, and incorporate best practices in data visualisation and storytelling throughout the impact calendar i.e. lead on website updates for our investment numbers & where we invest section

• Working collaboratively with Communications, Investor Engagement, Policy, Finance, Legal, and Operations groups and external Fund Managers on cross functional projects and initiatives.

• Assist the Head of Impact and the Head of Investment Management in delivering our impact and systems change approach across stakeholders (incl. BSC Board, external audiences) and products (BSC’s Annual Report, BSC’s Impact Report, etc.)

Market Data

• Leading our annual market sizing estimate & enterprise level data release, collaborating closely with relevant teams including market systems and communications to effectively communicate our findings and insight.

• Working closely with other market players i.e. GIIN, Impact Investing Institute and European NABS to share and alignbest practice with market sizing methodologies.

Systems Management

• Maintain and help develop back-end architecture of Salesforce and user experience on our frontline, impact and co-investor objects working closely with our Salesforce Administrator to continue to build out our impact data infrastructure.

• Using Tableau/Power BI and other visualisation tools to present data clearly and build in house capacity to encourage others to ‘self-serve’– allowing users to gain portfolio level insight.

Experience

Essential

• Experience leading on impact, ESG or equivalent data management process design and execution to enable insights and drive decision making

• Experience and confidence in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualisation software to create dashboards (i.e. Tableau, Power BI or similar)

• Proven project management skills

• A background relevant to Better Society Capital objectives (such as government, social enterprise or charity, finance, or investment)

The role

Art Fund is looking for an experienced Supporter Experience & Operations Lead to play an integral role within the membership team.

Joining a friendly and passionate environment, this post is a great opportunity for someone with a background in managing consumer-facing membership and/or donor operations to innovate, improve, and deliver an outstanding membership and supporter experience.

The post-holder is responsible for overseeing the development and management of all membership-related systems, effective supplier relationship management, payment processing, financial reconciliation, and membership budgeting and forecasting. You’ll also have substantial supplier management experience (ideally within a customer-facing service environment) with the ability to proactively manage supplier contracts and relationships to maintain the best-possible service and value. We are hiring a Grassroots Development Officer at BVSC on a 2 year contract. Responsible to the Funding and Development Manager, the role of Grassroots Development Officer will be to support the growth and sustainability of small voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Bexley. This role is funded by the VCSE Capacity Building & Infrastructure Fund 2024/2025 through the South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) and aims to enhance the effectiveness of smaller, often informal groups delivering services that are both ‘by and for’ their service users that are crucial in addressing local health and wellbeing needs for the ‘under-served’ but face significant challenges in visibility and support.

The Grassroots Development Officer will be responsible for providing a wide range of organisational development support services and activities to assist grassroots VCSE organisations to develop, thrive and remain sustainable. This role is particularly interested in working with groups who deliver services to young people, the elderly, minority ethnic (global majority) and migrant groups, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and residents in the north of the borough (areas with high deprivation and a higher proportion of small groups). 
You will be led by the VCSE sector within Bexley to ensure services are accessible, connected, consistent and to a high standard. Development work strives to build the capacity and capabilities of local groups, provide partnership/networking opportunities that enable them to carry out their own objectives effectively and offer high quality services. You will work flexibly and nimbly to provide consistent and seamless support to organisations. You will support across the whole spectrum of charity development, but focus on EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion), governance, funding, safeguarding and developing a holistic training package in a variety of formats suitable for grassroots VCS organisations.

About the Role:

This role is a hybrid working role and is based at our Singer Street offices, Islington, London for a minimum of one day a week and home working, subject to operational demand. As a Deputy Head of Service you will assist the Head of Service (HoS) to deliver consistently safe, high-quality support for all service users across the Service and ensure contractual targets are met. You will deputise in the absence of the HoS.

• Assist the HoS to deliver a high-quality service across London, meeting funder requirements and deputising in HoS absence.
• Coordinate of the continuous improvement of the DA Service, ensuring consistent implementation across all aspects of the Service.
• Facilitate consultation across the teams and other key stakeholders to develop new and build on existing good practice, implement and support the strategic direction of the regional business plan.
• Be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff, ensuring appropriate and effective delivery of services to survivors, including, safeguarding, risk assessment, needs assessment, safety planning, referrals to other agencies and MARACs.
• Drive continuous improvement of performance through use of data and other operational information to ensure teams perform to the highest standards at all times. This will include developing further data sources/requirements to ensure where possible all aspects of DA Service performance are evidenced.
• Coordinate the auditing and analysis of data and other information required for the performance and monitoring reports for the commissioner as well as ad hoc requests from partners, HoS and/or Director.
• Help build on and lead external relationships promoting positive working relationships to ensure the best possible support and outcomes is provided to eligible service users.
• Ensure we are meeting the needs of our service users to a standard as expected of our commissioners and partners.
• Be a Designated Safeguarding Officer.

Gambling with Lives (GwL) was founded in 2018 by the families and friends of people who had taken their own lives as a direct result of gambling. The charity supports people bereaved by gambling-related suicide, raises awareness of the devastating effects of gambling disorder and works to prevent gambling-related harm and suicide.

We are recruiting for a Chief Operating Officer to join us on a 14-month fixed term contract (maternity cover) to start in early 2025. Gambling with Lives operates as a fully remote working organisation however there will be some UK travel required as part of the role.

The Chief Operating Officer is the most senior staff role within the organisation, responsible for the day to day running of the charity and, in close coordination with GwL's co-founders, delivering the organisation's strategy. During this fixed term contract, the interim COO will be responsible for overseeing and managing the implementation of the charity's new strategy and operational plan (developed in late-2024). In addition the COO will ensure the ongoing delivery and quality of the charity's services and activities, and will lead and support GwL's expert and agile staff team.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a senior leadership role within a small charity setting. You will have demonstrable experience leading, developing and nurturing teams including remote workers. Having worked successfully at a strategic level, you will be adept at delivering strategic and operational plans, and bring a project management mindset, with the ability to stay on top of all aspects of the organisation. In addition to the inward facing parts of the role you will also demonstrate the drive and experience to work externally, with a range of stakeholders and contractors. You will demonstrate passion for the GwL mission, operating with a strong political awareness and sensitivity around the subject area.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Primary Care team which supports committee effectiveness and ensures representation within Local Medical Committees within London. You will report to the Director of Primary Care, working across local committees within the Primary Care team.

The focus of this role is to provide administrative support to Local Medical Committees, enabling the smooth running of Committee meetings. It would be helpful if candidates have a contextual understanding of the health environment or other public-sector environments that we work in, along with excellent administration and note-taking skills.
