The purpose of the role will be:
- To provide innovative, exciting and accessible youth work and youth projects to disabled young people aged 11-25 years old
- To support the running of girls group aged 11 – 25 years old
- To working alongside Caxton Youth Organisation colleagues to support children and young people from the Westminster community to run our youth programmes.
- To support the delivery of our holiday programmes; and residentials providing overnight disturbance cover where you will be responsible for our female member
Required skills, knowledge and qualifications
- A minimum of 1 years experience in the youth work sector.
- A minimum in Level 2 Youth Work.
- Excellent written and communication skills at all levels.
- A strong understanding of the principles of youth work as a distinctive practice of informal education and voluntary participation.
- A good understanding of inclusive practice including different communication methods e.g. Makaton.
- Advanced use of Microsoft packages.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.
- Is able to work as part of a team and to use own initiative.
- Is willing to travel and to work unsociable hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
- A highly motivated and creative youth worker.
- Strong empathy and a person centred approach.
Desirable
- Experience of supporting learning disabled and autistic young people.
- To have a driving licence and ability to drive a minibus (including a D1 licence and MIDAS qualification).

We are seeking to appoint an Advocacy and Communications Officer – a vital role for our 70-strong coalition during an exciting period for our work.
CJC is a broad coalition of NGOs, trade unions and law firms, encompassing a range of political and thematic priorities, from workers’ rights and modern slavery, to climate and the environment, global justice and the rights of women and girls, children and indigenous peoples. But what brings us together is a shared commitment to ending corporate impunity for human rights abuses and environmental destruction: in line with this, collaborative work for change alongside our partners is at the heart of all we do.
We’re at a crucial point in a campaign which spans advocacy, public communications and engagement with businesses, and seeks to ensure the implementation of a ‘Business, Human Rights and Environment Act’ in the UK. This legislation would help end corporate abuses of human rights and the environment, and make it easier for victims to access justice. At an exciting juncture for the campaign, the successful applicant will play a central role in shaping it and driving it forward, working alongside our civil society partners to do so.

What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have a real commitment to campaign for change on corporate accountability for human rights abuses. You’ll be enthusiastic and full of ideas, able to juggle multiple deadlines and tasks, while being ready to show initiative and take ownership of your area of work.
You don’t need to be a policy expert on our issues, but you’ll need to have the ability to rapidly gain an understanding of what we work on and why, and advocate for these issues to Parliamentarians and civil servants.
Facilitating joint work alongside our coalition partners is fundamental to everything we do, so we’re looking for someone who already has experience of working in coalitions or in the not-for-profit sector - whether in the UK charity sector or elsewhere - and who will be at ease regularly communicating with other organisations and facilitating meetings which can have multiple organisations in attendance. Responsibilities
- Contribute to laying the foundations for a new Young Lives (YL) Research Hub on Climate Change and Environmental Shocks.
- Support the Deputy Director to deliver the YL Policy Influencing Strategy and key research-to-policy outputs across the YL programme, including key messages, policy briefs, impact case studies, blogs and other policy focused materials relating to YL research themes. Key themes include education and skills, employment, health & wellbeing and family lives, with a specific focus on the crosscutting impacts of climate change and environmental shocks, poverty and inequalities.
- Track and analyse international and national policy debates, with a specific focus on the impact of poverty, inequalities and climate change on young people in low- and middle-income (LMICs) countries, including the disproportionate effects on girls and women.
- Proactively engage and build relationships with key international policy stakeholders working on the impacts of poverty, inequalities and climate change in LMICs, including policy influencers and practitioners (e.g. governments, donors and civil society), research-to-policy networks and researchers.
- Work closely with the Deputy Director and YL Country Directors to identify opportunities to influence policy debates both internationally and in the four study countries and provide technical support in developing research-to-policy engagement plans.
- Work closely with the YL Head of Communications to ensure research findings and related policy implications are effectively disseminated for maximum impact, including through website and social media, webinars, conferences, policy events and meetings to encourage the maximum uptake and impact of Young Lives evidence. Represent Young Lives at external events and meetings where necessary.

About the Role
To work as part of a team delivering an assessment, support and move on service to vulnerable clients in supported or community-based accommodation. Your work will be underpinned by the Depaul Endeavour model of assets-based, psychologically informed delivery. The aim of which is to ensure that every client leaves a Depaul service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.
Working under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for a caseload of (5) clients as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service.
In accommodation-based services, you will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in a positive and successful move on. The role will have responsibility under Depaul’s commitment to successfully deliver the contracted outcomes.

REDRESS is an international human rights organisation based in London and The Hague that pursues legal claims on behalf of survivors of torture in the UK and around the world to obtain justice and reparation for violations against their human rights. We empower survivors to access justice through human rights cases against governments, civil cases against individuals, and cases where we advocate for law enforcement bodies to prosecute perpetrators under the principle of universal jurisdiction.

The Team
The Administrative Assistant will work within the operations team to support the smooth running of the London office including managing the office environment, managing suppliers, liaising with our IT support, and ensuring administrative tasks are completed efficiently. This role will also support REDRESS’ projects with administrative tasks including support with the delivery of events and organising travel.
Position Profile
The main responsibilities of the role are:
Events support: Assist with delivering internal and external events, including booking flights, hotels, catering, venues, checking VISA requirements, organising interpretation, preparing logistics, drafting forms.

Terms
Reporting. The position is part of the Operations team and will report to the Operations Manager.
Hours. This is a full-time position at 35 hours a week. Evening and weekend work may be required from time to time.
Location. The position is based at the REDRESS office in London.
Flexible Working. REDRESS is an “in-person” organisation and we value team work, but we have a flexible working policy which allows for working from home. This role is currently required to be in the office at least three days a week.
Salary. REDRESS has fixed salary scales, with annual cost of living increases, and the possibility of step increases with strong performance. This is an entry level assistant position, and the salary is £31,681 which is A1 on our salary structure.
Duration. The contract is for a fixed-term of 12 months, but is expected to be extended, subject to funding.
Start date. The position would start in January 2025.
Probation. There is a six-month probationary period.
Pension. REDRESS offers a pension contribution of 10% of salary.
Holiday. There are 25 days of holiday per year, in addition to UK public holidays. The office is also closed between Christmas and New Year.
Status. The candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK. Unfortunately, we cannot sponsor a UK immigration process for this role.
Interview process. We expect to do two rounds of interviews. We may ask candidates to complete a brief written test as part of the process but will provide information on that nearer the time.
· First round Interviews will take place on a rolling basis and will be on-line.
· Final round interview will take place on 27 November 2024 and will be in-person at our office in London.

Here at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our new temporary accommodation service as a Concierge in Radford, Nottingham. Internally this role is known as Night Porter.
Sutton House is a new temporary accommodation service for families which will be opening 2nd January 2025 in Radford, Nottingham.
The team inform referral agencies about vacancies and give advice about the suitability of potential referrals. You will interview applicants and complete risk and needs assessments, discussing applications and allocations with the project manager. You will assist with the move-in process, ensuring that new tenants are aware of their rights and responsibilities and relevant management procedures. Assist tenants with housing benefit applications and ready to move plans.
As Concierge, some of your responsible include but are not limited to:
- Manage access to the building via the main entrance/monitor CCTV (done by PM/HPWs during weekday daytime).Move in families overnight where required.
- Log all complaints/accidents/potential risks/incidents of anti-social behaviour in accordance with policies/procedures.
- Keep a daily log of events/monitor ASB when on duty, ensuring effective handover of information to relevant staff.
- Conduct regular security checks including fire alarm/emergency lighting/fire extinguishers, reporting any concerns.
Ideal candidate
We’re looking for someone who has the values, knowledge and skills of working within a care and support environment and can demonstrate how they use their skills and common sense to support vulnerable individuals. They’ll have a commitment to maintaining the dignity and rights of the individuals and families we work with, with top notch communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but we welcome candidates with relevant experience from other sectors or transferable skills. You must be willing to work on a rota basis including weekends. Full training will be provided.
