As an international network of charities, we’ve been funding life-saving research, influencing global healthcare policy, and educating the public on how to make informed choices since 1982. We now have an exciting opening for a Head of Media, PR & Editorial. The postholder will be responsible for developing and supporting key campaigns and strategies that help to promote and explain the work, impact, health messaging and funding needs to diverse audiences. You will achieve these through PR and media relations, awareness-raising campaign development, supporter stories, celebrity/ambassador management, and the management of a small team, including staff and specialist consultant support.
We are seeking an experienced communications professional with demonstrable expertise and a track-record of success in managing communications for a charity, health or science-related organisation, including developing successful media strategies, with positive press coverage, and writing clear, engaging copy for different audiences across digital and social media channels. The successful candidate will also have proven experience planning and managing multiple cross-departmental projects.

Today, Ochil Tower School is a thriving educational and residential community, where 27 children and young people, aged 8-21, with special and complex additional support needs live, learn and grow together.
The School is part of the Camphill Community which comprises 11 different Camphill sites in Scotland.
Ochil Tower School is set in seven acres of stunning Perthshire countryside. This enables its children and young adults to feel more relaxed and better able to forge relationships with peers and staff. They are then more able to build self-esteem, confidence and their capacity for resilience.
The School provides excellent care and education and is not short on ambition. In October 2018, it opened a new Life Skills Centre. This facility is for young adults aged 18 – 21 and is designed to help them so that they are better prepared for the challenges of living an independent adult life by developing their skills in learning, life and work. OTS is now focussed on extending the residential provision to 52 weeks. The Board of Trustees have a commitment to further enhancing and developing their residential houses and plans to build new educational facilities for the school.
Ochil Tower School is now looking for a Head of Care who will form a key part of the Leadership Team, working under a highly experienced and dynamic Executive Director. The Head of Care would be effective in collaborating with the education team, parents and carers and a range of other partners to meet the needs of our children and young people.
The Head of Care will liaise with members of the school community primarily but will link in with other residential schools and with other external agencies to ensure that the service remains responsive to need, is professional in approach and in line with National Care Standards, as well as Government initiatives regarding residential and day care for children and young people. The successful candidate will undertake the day-to-day strategic leadership and management of the residential team and ensure effective systems are in place for policies, procedures and monitoring. You should have significant experience of working successfully in a leadership role with proven experience of leading and supporting the development and delivery of operational strategies and associated action plans.
As well as all the skills required of a senior manager, you will need to have a commitment to and respect for the Camphill ideology.
We would emphasise that you need not be an existing Head of Care but a very experienced leader in a sizable organisation who is ready to step into strategic management.

The role of Head of Finance Business Partnering will deliver an exceptional financial and business partnering service that influences the direction of the business and monitors progress against the plan.
The role:
- Work in partnership with the business to deliver the strategy and creatively solve problems;
- Responsible for working with the business to prepare and deliver robust budgets, challenging at regular reviews if we are off target and forecasting as appropriate;

Essential criteria:
- Experience of reporting financial information, including explaining finance concepts to non-financial people;

We are seeking a Head of People and Operations to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a multifaceted role, leading the people and culture agenda along with responsibility for the smooth running of our operations, including overall office management and managing our IT provider.
Reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer (COO), the successful candidate will be both forward thinking and focussed on long term sustainable improvements as well as hands on, developing initiatives that will improve efficiencies and ways of working throughout FNF and will have proven experience in working in an operational role within a similar sized environment.
Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility
People and Engagement
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team on the development and delivery of a people plan that drives engagement and performance. This includes proactively listening, learning and acting on feedback from our people engagement survey
- Lead on all aspects of HR, including recruitment, onboarding and performance management, staff benefits, leave allowances and mandatory learning.
- Responsible for managing our employee relations provider, ensuring that their service is fit for purpose and supporting all managers within the charity
- Work with our Occupational Health outsourced service to ensure that we are providing our people with an effective occupational health solution
- Create an approach to reward and recognition that celebrates success and encourages people to go above and beyond and making a difference for FNF, fully utilising our recognition platform
- Lead on the diversity, equity and inclusion agenda, ensuring that inclusion is considered throughout the employee lifecycle
- Work with our Marketing and Communications team to drive internal communications including our newsletter and team meetings
- Champion and embed the new values and behaviours across FNF, ensuring they are reflected in HR policies, practices and employee engagement initiatives to drive a positive and inclusive workplace culture
Policy and Governance
- Ensure that the people KPIs are monitored each month, looking at any themes and trends and associated actions
- Develop and maintain people policies and processes which are fair, transparent and comply with relevant legislation promoting FNF as an employer of choice.
- Maintain all employee records in line with regulation and organisational policy ensuring that all information is up to date and relevant
- Provide transparent and clear people and workforce information to the Board along with the relevant FNF committees
- Work collaboratively with our Finance team and Pension administrator to effectively manage the FNF salary exchange pension
Health and Safety
- Ensure that health and safety standards are met across FNF, this includes the communication of health and safety policies to ensure they are understood and adhered to
- Conduct regular risk assessments across all areas of FNF including office spaces, remote working environments and any other areas where the charity operates
- Establish and maintain an effective system for reporting, managing and investigating accidents, incidents and near misses
- Work with external partners to keep up to date with changes in legislation and to conduct the annual health and safety audit and ensure that any recommendations are implemented promptly
IT
- Act as the primary point of contact between FNF and the IT provider, ensuring clear and effective communication to ensure they deliver high quality services that meet our needs
- Review and manage the IT service contract ensuring that all terms and SLAs are monitored as well as considering value for money and service experience
- Manage the budget for the IT function at FNF
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets (hardware, software licenses etc) and ensure they are properly managed and documented. This includes the procurement and disposal of IT equipment as needed.
Office Management / Administration
- Partner with managed office provider to ensure that all services are delivered as per the contract, building a strong working relationship with the building and facilities team
- Ensure that the office environment is well maintained, welcoming and conducive to productive work
- Oversee the management of office supplies, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and ordered are placed
- Implement best practices in office management, including document management, filing systems and communication protocol
- To identify areas across the charity where processes, systems and collaborative working can be made more efficient, and support the team in implementing improvements
Person Specification

- Relevant professional qualifications in business administration or a related field would be desirable

Duchenne UK is an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity. Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012.
DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.

About the role
At a strategic level this role is responsible for leading on all aspects of income, including fundraising, commercial engagement, and new business opportunities, leading the development and delivery of a bold and effective income strategy to support our organisational ambitions and future sustainability.
The Director of Income Generation will inspire and develop the charity’s income team, taking overall responsibility for setting and achieving income targets for the organisation. They will ensure a collaborative and integrated approach to income generation across the organisation.

Job Description
Income Generation
- Aligned to the organisational strategy, designing and delivering Duchenne UK’s income generation strategy, establishing a delivery plan to hit targets across a diverse range of income streams, including community fundraising, events, trusts and foundations, major donors, research and development grants and commercial income.
- Oversee the process and systems of managing funders and new business opportunities, including overseeing the charity’s CRM system (Salesforce) to support a high end and holistic approach to the account management of funders and stakeholders.
- Set, monitor and deliver annual income and expenditure targets.
- Attend meetings with funders and prospects, and networking events to uncover new opportunities, including management of Duchenne UK’s Development Board.
- Developing and growing the income pipeline, working closely with the Research and Development team to identify funding for existing and pipeline projects.
- Support the team to develop professional and engaging materials including fundraising proposition, applications, proposals, appeals, pitches and reports.
- Proactively seek-out and identify new trends and developments and make recommendations to Duchenne UK.

This role is designed to meet the debt advice needs of Oxford residents. The post holder will provide debt advice including benefit checks, ways to raise income and reduce overheads. Advice will be given by telephone/email, by appointment in person at our office, and to drop in clients at outreaches.

Role purpose: to provide an effective and efficient debt advice service to local residents within the aims, policies and principles of the CA service.
Key responsibilities:
- Interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.
- Use the Citizens Advice Information System to find, interpret and communicate the relevant information.
