Citizens Advice Waltham Forest has an exciting opportunity on their successful Debt Free Advice Team for an experienced Debt Advice Caseworker. We have been part of the wider Debt Free Advice partnership for over a decade and have success in delivering high quality debt advice to local residents who are facing financial difficulties. The demand for the service in light of the cost of living crisis has increased substantially over recent years and we are looking to expand our team.

We are seeking an experienced debt advice caseworker who has a proven track record in helping and assisting clients facing financial difficulties and providing creative solutions to help alleviate their challenges in a sensitive and supportive role. They will have an awareness of having successfully provided debt advice in a regulated environment. 

The successful candidate would be expected to work a hybrid model of delivery - in an office environment, outreach sessions as well as home based. They would be expected to provide advice via omni-channels such as face to face, telephone and email advice.

Main responsibilities:

To provide over-indebted Londoners with free, face-to-face/telephone advice that is accurate, effective and tailored to individuals’ circumstances. This includes:

● Provide case work covering the full range of debt - Interviewing those that access our service using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.

● Researching and exploring options and implications so that those accessing our service can make informed decisions. 

● Ensuring income maximisation through the appropriate take up of income, including those relating to water charges, benefits, tax and housing.

● Providing in-depth quality advice and on-going casework, including acting for the client where necessary using appropriate communication skills and channels.

● Maintaining detailed case records, ensuring that all work meets all auditing and quality standards and the requirements of the funder.

We are looking for a Tennis Development Officer to support with the development and delivery of our Tennis Programme as our inaugural focus sport. The role combines coaching delivery with desk-based sports administration. We are looking for someone passionate about developing tennis in all forms; an experienced coach who is confident with coaching beginners through to talented athletes.

The post holder will need to ensure high quality tennis coaching for all tennis club activity, including BUCS and LUSL team training. This will be achieved through a combination of direct coaching delivery and coordination of a wider tennis coaching network. They will also support the Sports Administrator with developing relationships with new tennis facility partners, and maintain strong relationships with all key external stakeholders including the LTA. The role holder will also deliver beginner-friendly coaching for our ‘Learn to…’ tennis sessions.

About The Access Project

The Access Project is an education charity; we believe that every young person can make the most of education, unlocking their potential and creating a fairer society.

We support over 1,800 young people aged 14 to 18 across 40 schools. Our mission is to support students from under-resourced backgrounds to access top universities, through a unique combination of tuition and in-school mentoring. What you’ll be responsible for

Leadership and management

• Working closely with the Fundraising and Communications Director to develop a corporate partnerships plan that focuses on the acquisition of corporate partnerships and excellent account management of existing partnerships, resulting in renewals and uplift in value.
• Leading, supporting and inspiring a team of two (Corporate Partnerships Manager and Fundraising Co-ordinator) to deliver the corporate partnerships strategy and individual giving strategy.
• Developing objectives and targets for the corporate partnerships team and ensuring accurate and timely reporting against these.
• Ensuring effective team use of Salesforce for relationship management, data management and providing information for financial reporting and audit purposes.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and adherence to latest legislation, especially Fundraising legislation relating to corporate fundraising and best practice guidelines issued by the Fundraising Regulator, and GDPR. 

New business development

• Periodically refreshing our corporate offer with creative ideas, proposals and content to inspire decision makers. 
• Winning new business for The Access Project at the 5 and 6 figure level with support from the Director of Fundraising and Communications and the CEO/Executive team and Board.
• Managing the preparation and submission of major corporate partnership bids and coordinating internal teams to contribute effectively. 
• Leading research and development to identify new fundraising opportunities.
• Ensuring high quality and inspiring communications and materials are produced in accordance with brand guidelines.

Account management and stewardship 

• Delivering successful partnerships in your portfolio through excellent account management to maximise fundraising and volunteering potential and retain partners. 
• Ensuring corporate partnerships are celebrated through working with Communications colleagues. 
• Working collaboratively with the wider Fundraising Team, Volunteer Team, Programmes Team and other functions to deliver a fantastic partner experience and ensure an integrated and joined up approach. 

Skills, knowledge and attitudes we’re looking for

• An impressive track-record in corporate fundraising. We will also consider exceptional candidates who have excelled in another field of fundraising, partnership management or sales or with a corporate background.
• Ability to work strategically, bringing others along with you, as well as being a hands-on fundraiser as part of a small team.

To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.

You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

Our Strategy Enablement directorate brings together four core enabling support functions -  HR Delivery, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning & Property and Finance where this particular role sits. About the role

As the Head of Financial Control and Operations (FC&O), you’ll be managing a highly engaged team of fourteen with three direct reports who are supported to drive their own development. This role has a critical remit within our wider Finance team, managing our Supporter Income, Accounts Payable Team and Financial Control team. We’ll count on you when it comes to maintaining robust financial controls, including compliance with laws, reporting standards and regulations. You’ll support your managers and their teams in ensuring we steward our resources carefully.

You’ll be working closely with our Assistant Director for Finance, assuring Shelter’s leadership that we have a financial control capability that meets the needs of our organisation.  You’ll form part of our Finance Leadership Team, working with your peers and the Assistant Director in leading the finance function, ensuring we deliver the Finance plan within budget and provide our people with a work culture in which they can succeed and thrive.

About you

You will be an experienced finance professional and chartered accountant, with experience of year-end processes, including accounts production and external audits, and have a good understanding of charity finance including the laws, regulations and taxation that come with this. You’ll need a strong control mindset, with experience and understanding of effective financial control frameworks.

You’ll have great people management skills and experience, not only in leading your team to success but also with knowing how to influence and challenge peers at all levels to ensure that we work collaboratively and manage Shelter’s financial resources effectively.  Excellent time and project management skills are also required, including the ability to work to competing deadlines and prioritise asks when circumstances change.

Add in, excellent attention to detail with a high-level of numeracy and good MS Excel skills, as well as strong experience of using accounting software (Unit 4 Business World is desirable), and it’s clear you have exactly what we’re looking for.

The role:

• Assist the Head of Finance with the preparation of the Greenpeace Ltd monthly management accounts.
• Provide support and advice to budget holders to aid budgetary understanding and ownership.
• Proactively work to improve finance processes, including developing budget management processes.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified, or a finalist Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or other chartered accountancy qualification) or will be qualified by experience.
• Have substantial experience of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Be a self-starter, with the ability to work on own initiative
• Have proven experience of delivering a business partnering focussed service and providing in depth insight, analysis and guidance to budget-holders.
• Support and believe in the aims of Greenpeace.
• Have highly developed communication skills with credibility to operate outside the finance function up to senior management level.

To be successful in this role you will have

• Significant experience in producing high quality, compelling written materials for an external audience displaying a high level of copy writing skills and attention to detail 
• A proven track record in writing successful high value fundraising proposals and securing significant donations from major donors, charitable trusts and foundations and/or corporate donors 
• Proven experience of developing appropriate strategies in line with organisational and departmental objectives 
• Experience in leading a cross team project or strategy which involves multiple stakeholders

Habitat for Humanity Great Britain (Habitat GB) is part of the international Habitat for Humanity network. We address housing poverty worldwide by partnering with communities and families to help them achieve their dreams of safe, decent housing. 

Purpose of The role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Community Outreach Coordinator to join our growing, dynamic team. This role will support the development of a community hub attached to our charity retail “ReStore” in Romford—the first of its kind in the UK. Globally, over 1,000 ReStores operate with the mission of upcycling unwanted home materials to support low-income households and promote a circular economy.

Beyond being a retail space, our ReStore aims to become a community hub offering additional targeted activities and services to those most vulnerable to housing insecurity. Our pilot programme will focus on supporting women recovering from domestic abuse or trafficking. These women will access free essential goods from the store, and benefit from workshops and courses such as upholstery, upcycling, art therapy, employability, confidence-building, and practical life skills.

Main Responsibilities 

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to design and maintain all community outreach activities. The Community Outreach Coordinator will represent Habitat GB, working with the leadership team to develop and implement initiatives that increase the community hub’s visibility and impact.

This position will:

· Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with collaborative partners in the housing support sector.

· Budget Preparation: Assist in preparing an annual budget for community outreach activities.

· Volunteer Management: Recruit, screen, and train volunteers.

Our Strategy Enablement directorate brings together five core enabling support functions -  Finance, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning and Property and HR Delivery, where this particular role sits.
