Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people
Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

Role Purpose
We are seeking to recruit a manager to lead a frontline team. This role will suit an experienced people manager who is friendly, kind and able to manage a busy workload. Someone who can motivate staff and volunteers, engage with elders and be solution focused.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the day to day running of the Elders Core Service as part of the wider Elders Programme. This includes the three day a week lunch club, transport offer and social sessions and one-off activities and trips.
• Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers. The team members include a cook, support worker, minibus driver and sessional workers such as exercise tutors.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide this “hands on” programme which builds on older people’s strengths and potential.
• Manage the monitoring and evaluation of the project.
• Ensure the programme runs to budget.
• Support the planning of the core programme with Elders members themselves and with the wider team.
• Recruit, assess and support new and existing members (service users)
• Manage waiting lists for the programme
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and oversight
• Working with the Head of Programme, ensure that all service output meets KLS’ vision, mission, values and charitable objects and with the Head of Programme, ensure the service meets the programme strategy and KLS’s 5-year strategy.
• Ensure the smooth delivery of core older people's activities throughout the week and organise, plan and promote agreed one-off activities throughout the year in a timely and planned manner.
• Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules of older people to and from KLS’ activities with the Minibus Driver. Ensuring the Minibus Driver maintains records.
• Ensure activity records and registers are kept accurately and up to date as well as case work notes for the core team, completing regular checks on this. We use a Salesforce Database for which training will be given.
• Actively support the social and support needs of our older people as appropriate, including safeguarding issues and being a first contact for compliments and complaints for the service.
• To be part of, and work closely with, the wider elder's team, sharing information regarding elders on a regular basis where appropriate.
• Conduct outreach and support work with older people in the community and on home visits and oversee the case work of the Core Team as well as having a small caseload. This does not involve advice work but is mainly signposting, referral and light advocacy.
Staff and volunteer management
• Take responsibility for the Core Programme. This includes line management of the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook and key relevant social activities workers and volunteers related to the core programme (we do also have a KLS Volunteer Manager who recruits volunteers).
• Ensure performance management and quality systems are used to monitor and evaluate the project’s work, processes and safeguarding.
• Managing individual volunteers as part of the Core Programme Team.
Relationships, comms and networks
• Continue to build and sustain strong relationships with our members.
• Contribute to comms for the service with the Head of Service. Oversee the comms for the Core Programme including the shared service newsletter, activities calendar, annual report and social media platforms.
• Attend meetings as requested on behalf of the Core Programme.
Finance
• Manage the project areas to budget, maintain basic financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme – in this instance this is usually a petty cash sheet.
Safeguarding
• Responsible for ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across the core team, ensuring that safeguarding is at the forefront of KLS’ delivery.
Undertake other duties
• Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal; help to identify your own job-related development and training needs
• Undertake your role in a professional manner and maintain a high-quality standard of work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of KLS
Skills and Experience
• Experience of working with older people in a community setting
• Experience of line managing a small team in a community setting
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including communicating with people from a wide range of backgrounds and when working individually or in groups
• Strong multi-tasking skills and time management
• Ability to work as part of a small team, whilst also working independently
• Experience of monitoring and evaluating projects effectively and ensuring that they are consistently meeting needs
• Understanding and experience of safeguarding, and health & safety in theory and in practice
• Excellent IT skills including MS Office suite and ability to use Internet, email and social media. Database experience would be an advantage (Salesforce)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Special Events Team as Senior Special Events Fundraiser.
We have some exciting events coming up including a reception in October and a high-profile dinner at The Design Museum in November, so we need somebody to come in and hit the ground running. Please note that these events are in the evenings so the role will require some flexibility.
You will work closely with the Head of Special Events to deliver our events, taking responsibility for key elements of the management and delivery of each event and ensuring they meet budget targets. You will collaborate with internal teams on delivering events, including the bi-annual Patrons’ Club Reception and other events that arise over the year.

About the role
The Programme Coordinator will primarily be responsible for supporting Money Heroes, our largest primary programme designed to develop the financial capability of children across England and Wales. About the team
Shelter Sheffield provide housing advice and support to people across the city with a focus on emergency homelessness, intensive support for children and families, people experiencing domestic abuse and people with multiple and complex needs. We take a holistic approach to help people deal with interrelated issues that can impact their ability to keep a home.
About the role
You will be the local leader for Shelter’s Community Services, leading a multidisciplinary team in implementing Shelter’s strategy locally, delivering the local response to the housing emergency and empowering the local community in Sheffield to fight for home.
You will take the lead on the delivery of services and contracts to provide consistently high levels of performance, and plan and deliver service development strategies, including seeking business development opportunities that align with our strategic aims, both across Community Services and in partnership with the Lead Solicitor.
As the strategic lead for your locality, you will promote and direct systems change activity, so we better understand what is influencing people’s experience of homelessness and bad housing, and so we have effective plans to influence change.
You will act as an ambassador for Shelter within your region, representing the organisation through media, networks, and local stakeholder engagement.
Alongside this, you will plan and implement resourcing plans for your Hub, including staffing, volunteers, and engaging people with lived experience, and will manage the Hub Leadership team. Ensuring there are multiple and ongoing opportunities for people with lived experience of homelessness and bad housing to be part of Hub development, activities, and learning is a key element of this role, as is upholding and promoting a learning culture with the Hub.
About you
A natural leader, who can inspire, support and motivate individuals, communities, and your own team to advocate for change, you will have a proven working knowledge of homelessness, housing and related issues affecting local communities. You will possess sound experience of managing and delivering contracts, partnerships, and services, and of being involved in implementing and reviewing change management, whilst demonstrating excellent budgeting and financial reporting skills.
The ability to proactively develop and maintain key relationships and having impressive analytical skills to use insight and evidence to present data, manage performance and to identify and implement systems change are vital to this role, as are impressive interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

What the job involves
This is an excellent opportunity to join our vibrant, proactive and attentive Brand and Media team in a varied and dynamic role. Our focus is on making Prostate Cancer UK widely recognisable and building a deep understanding of the cause for our brand to be sustained. Following audience insight, we gain the attention of priority audiences at tactical calendar moments through creative content and storytelling.
You’ll be helping to tackle some of the biggest issues facing prostate cancer, from building public support and momentum behind our ambitious research programme, to increasing public understanding of risk factors and treatment options.
With your expertise and understanding of the national health agenda you’ll plan, develop and deliver large scale integrated campaigns which result in high quality, engaging and impactful media coverage, working collaboratively with colleagues across Communications.
You’ll provide expert media and PR guidance to teams and individuals across the charity, including the Executive Team, Research and Support and Influencing teams, and will build long-lasting relationships with key influential journalists and stakeholders to ensure prostate cancer remains an issue high in their agenda.
What we want from you
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual with solid experience in media relations and a strong understanding of the national health and research news agenda. You’ll be experienced in turning complex research, health or policy information into bitesize messaging and eye-catching content, along with the ability to look for new angles for stories which will help us drive forward our agenda.
Whilst your focus will be on generating proactive and reactive media coverage, you’ll also have a good understanding of the range of current communications channels and will have an eye on the bigger picture, considering opportunities to share messages and content to a wider audience.
Your excellent people skills will enable you to form effective relationships with a range of groups and individuals from journalists to colleagues, to men living with prostate cancer.
You’ll be a flexible team player, capable of managing multiple projects to tight deadlines, and happy to use your expertise to support your team, or take the lead, as the occasion demands

Our trauma informed staff specialise in providing nurture and care to children and young people
who are looked after. We work really hard to create a home environment that exceeds the needs of
the children and young people – enabling them to express their characters, feel safe and enrich their

The children and young people that we care for can demonstrate a wide range of behaviours and
can be very demanding of time, attention, and emotions. A senior residential childcare worker
advocates pro-actively for each young person’s needs, rights and views and ensures that these are
met.

discriminated against. Senior residential childcare workers encourage each young person to be

About the role:
This role is home and office based, with travel throughout London. As a Male Independent Domestic Violence Advocate - Housing Specialist you will:
- Ensure that male survivors' safety & housing needs are met
- Provide specialist support for survivors at the moment of crisis

Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities.
