We are looking for a Community engagement officer to join our team, supporting the delivery of our Public Health engagement partnership contract. This pivotal role will enable us to bridge health inequalities and ensure everyone has the opportunity to access vital public health services.
Your focus in this role will be increasing our reach and generating accessible, insightful public health resources for those with sight loss and/or complex care needs.

Responsibilities:

- Assist service managers in organizing activities to meet contractual targets.
- Conduct market research, identify health inequalities, and maximise engagement opportunities based on findings.
- Attend community events to engage identified groups and help facilitate access to public health services.
- Accurately maintain project-related spreadsheets and databases with statistical and financial information.
- Motivate departments and stakeholders to participate in engagement activities, and support in public engagement exercises such as surveys, focus groups or workshops.
- Ensure all community groups have the opportunity to access public health services, and contribute to the planning of local public health funded services.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Officer to create and share accessible public health messages in a range of formats.
- Support the Marketing Officer in creating engaging online content for Focus Birmingham’s website and social media platforms.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with our stakeholders.
- Champion community volunteering initiatives and maximise reach. Facilitate access to project specific training opportunities for our volunteers.

The ideal candidate:

- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent
- Strong communication skills.
- Positive and outgoing attitude with a confident approach to building and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Effective project management skills, and the ability to manage own workload, working to deadlines as required.
- Experience in the organizing of promotional events, including attendance and facilitation their success
- Understanding of Market research and analysis of findings.
- Good IT skills, and the ability to compose and post engaging online content.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for Advocates to join our team covering Fife and the surrounding area. You will be involved in one-to-one advocacy along with group work across the area; this could be in a clients’ home, hospital, care homes or other suitable community venues and be home based for administrative tasks.  Therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

This is a full time role for 35 hours per week, applicants who do not hold the Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy will start on £22,500 per annum.

Job Purpose:

Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women who have been referred for support by prison staff, predominately the Mental Health In-Reach Teams and Primary Care Teams.

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to women in contact with the criminal justice system.

2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.

3. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders such as statutory and voluntary sector agencies.

The Administrative Assistant (Advice and Information) provides important administrative support to our small, friendly Advice and Information Team, which includes:

CoramBAAF members’ Advice Line which covers all aspect of adoption, fostering, kinship and related areas. It is busy and popular with professionals, primarily social workers, who use the service. It offers telephone and email advice, prioritising speed and quality of service.

The Outbound Permanence service. This provides specialist advice by email, supported by legal research, country-specific written guidance and individual consultations where required, to local authorities making arrangements for children to live with relatives and friends overseas. The service also delivers regular training and events.

The Information Service, which supports the advice line and CoramBAAF members with up-to-date information, research, resources and statistics. Their role also includes managing CoramBAAF’s specialist library, the largest collection of adoption and fostering related resources in the UK, and producing the CoramBAAF Digest, a unique monthly current awareness briefing for everyone working in adoption, fostering, kinship and child welfare covering latest developments in legislation, parliamentary activity, policy, consultations, research, statistics and online resources throughout the UK. The Information Service is also an invaluable internal resource, assisting with survey design and data governance, and helping our consultants, trainers and authors to ensure that they have the latest and most accurate information for practice forum meetings, the guides we publish and the training we offer.

Introduction to Carers Voice Norfolk & Waveney

Carers Voice Norfolk & Waveney is a user-led charity providing the independent voice of Carers in the way their services are designed, developed and delivered. Its vision is to ensure that unpaid Carers throughout Norfolk & Waveney are valued, recognised, and supported with equal access to a good quality of life that is not prejudiced by their caring role.

Carers Voice Norfolk & Waveney facilitates a countywide strategic partnership group and five locality network groups, all of which meet quarterly. Coproduction is central to everything we do at Carers Voice. Carers are ‘experts’ through their lived experience and Carers Voice works to ensure Carers are able to influence change regarding the services, policies and decisions that affect them and the people they care for. Coproduction is an equal relationship between people who use services and people responsible for services. Decision making is shared in planning, design, delivery and monitoring.

The role will be carried out mainly in weekday office hours and can be flexible to suit the right person. Very occasional evening and weekend work will be required. The role will predominantly involve working from home. Equipment such as mobile phone and laptop, will be supplied. We are looking for a Meetings Co-ordinator to join our team.

Are you a great communicator, with first-class organisational skills, and experience of co-ordinating meetings?

Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport, empathise and build trust with Carers from diverse backgrounds.

The Meetings Co-ordinator will lead the co-ordination and development of the five Local Carer Involvement Meetings and be responsible for facilitating/ chairing these meetings.  These meetings are an opportunity for Carers to share their experiences and to come together with practitioners to co-produce solutions to gaps in support. The role involves supporting a network of unpaid Carers in Norfolk & Waveney. You will be helping Carers to have a say on issues that matter to them; strengthening the ‘Carers Voice.’ You will play a key role in outreach, engagement and advocacy, to ensure that Carers Voices are heard.

Main Relationships:

The role will maintain effective connections with: Carers and Past Carers (individuals and groups), Co-production & Project Officer, Membership & Administration Officer, Adult Social Services Operational Business Lead and integrated health and care practitioners, service providers and user-led groups and VCSE organisations and statutory bodies such as Healthwatch Norfolk.

Tasks:

1. Networks / Community Development

1. Lead (operationally) the coordination and development of five Local Carer Involvement Meetings to give Carers a space to share their voice in the design, delivery and evaluation of services and support which affect them, ensuring Carers feel heard and supported.

2. Chair the five Local Carer Involvement Meetings quarterly, providing organisational and facilitation support, including aspects of administration (setting and distributing notes, agendas and documentation and taking forward and reporting back on actions). Minute taking will be provided by another member of staff whenever possible.

3. Develop the membership of Locality Networks to ensure good representation from Carers, Carer peer support groups, practitioners, service managers and commissioners.

4. Building networks between local services and Carers. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, social services agencies, and community organisations.

5.  Provide a quarterly report on the Local Carer Involvement Meetings to the County Wide Partnership Board and wider Integrated Care System

We are seeking applications for the position of Domestic Abuse Caseworker, dedicated to assisting women aged 18+ seeking support for Domestic Abuse. 

As part of our work, we provide comprehensive support services for victims and survivors of Domestic Abuse (DA) in Hillingdon. Our Specialist DA service offers personalised one-to-one support through dedicated Caseworkers. These Caseworkers conduct assessments to establish risk and well-being levels using the DASH SafeLives checklist and Empowerment Star assessment. They collaborate with the service user to develop a personalised safety plan, offering critical safety advice, assistance with accessing accommodation, referrals for legal advice, and connections to other statutory agencies, including the local authority, police, MARAC team, and mental health services. The role of the Caseworker is to inform women of their rights and options, empowering them to make informed decisions. This includes providing practical advice, dispelling myths, developing action plans, and offering longer-term support post-separation. The successful candidate will also be required to support the delivery of our Pathways to Healing DA recovery programme.

• A strong background in providing individualised support to victims/survivors, including risk assessment, safety planning and advising women of their options 
• Experience working with other agencies i.e the local authority, police and the third sector 
• A passionate individual, dedicated to ending Violence Against Women and Girls
• An understanding of intersectionality, as the women we support face multiple barriers when accessing services
• The ability to work collaboratively as you'll be joining a small team who work closely together to achieve the best possible outcomes for survivors
• Someone adaptable, who understands the complexities of working in a trauma-informed environment
• An ability to manage a caseload independently with strong time management skills

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director of Locality Impact our Locality Impact Directorate is responsible for the effective delivery of high quality commissioned and non-commissioned support to stroke survivors and carers. We provide a range of support for people from the early days after stroke throughout their recovery and into the longer term, working closely with our network of volunteers, Stroke Association support groups, and independent groups as part of the Stroke Group Network.

You’ll lead a motivated and engaged team of staff and volunteers to:

· Champion and support improvements to NHS stroke services, building effective relationships with key stakeholders and influencing local stroke policy and practice

· Increase the reach and impact of locality delivered services to ensure all new stroke survivors in the East of England receive the support they need to rebuild their lives after stroke

· Engage with the wider stroke community to put stroke on the map and ensure stroke survivors have the support they need, with a focus on addressing health inequalities

About You

You will have:

· Senior-level experience in advocacy/influencing; service delivery or community engagement and development.

· Senior level experience influencing local or national policy change, ideally in health and social care.

· Substantial experience of holding senior-level relationships with partner organisations, ideally in health and social care / the NHS and a strong understanding of systems leadership.

· Substantial experience of leading high performing teams and large distributed teams (paid staff and volunteers) and an inspiring and motivational approach to leadership.

The East of England comprises of the areas within the Integrated Care Boards of: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Norfolk and Waveney, Suffolk and North East Essex, Mid and South Essex, Hertfordshire and West Essex, Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

About the role

You will be involved in one-to-one advocacy along with group work across the area; this could be in a clients’ home, hospital, care homes or other suitable community venues and be home based for administrative tasks.  Therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.

CHT

CHT is a mental health charity that provides seven rehabilitative residential communities in London and Sussex for people experiencing severe mental health difficulties, and training in the field of relational practice in mental health.

Poor mental health is a national crisis. Those with the severest of mental health difficulties experience  a high risk of suicide and self-harm, a lack of independence, and a loss of hope. Though many are still young adults, most of our residents have spent years in psychiatric hospitals before coming to CHT; medication alone is not the answer. For 30 years, CHT has provided a unique approach with a distinct clinical model. We work with individuals with a history of multiple or prolonged hospital admissions, providing an alternative, longer-term solution that enables the majority of our residents to move on to lower support, with many taking up education, training or employment while still with us – a stark contrast to psychiatric hospital. 

Purpose of role 

As part of our five-year strategic plan two years ago CHT commissioned a part-time consultant to develop our fundraising and communications capacity from scratch. We now feel that the time is right to build on the work done so far and to step up a gear and appoint our own full-time Head of Fundraising and Communications who will lead on the further growth of our fundraising capacity and fully develop our marketing. This is a new post for someone creative and innovative who wants to step up in their career and help CHT step up in our fundraising and communications capabilities. We are a growth-oriented charity both in terms of personal learning and development and in terms of our role in the mental health sector, and we are looking for an individual who brings established fundraising and communications skills and who is looking for an opportunity for personal and professional growth.

The purpose of the Head of Fundraising and Communications role is to lead on implementing the Board of Trustees’ strategic objectives in increasing our fundraising capacity and income; developing our marketing capacity and reputation management so that we enjoy high levels of referrals and a higher sector profile both as a provider of services and as a training organisation; and to line manage CHT’s small existing fundraising and communications team.
