Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be. We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team at the Guildford Foyer, which is one of our 24-hour supported housing services offering high quality support and accommodation to 33 young people, ages 16-25 who have multiple and complex needs, including many who are unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. Our specialist supported accommodation is a safe and secure environment where young people are supported to acquire the necessary skills in preparation for living independently and can safely explore their increased freedom and choice and develop the responsibilities associated with adulthood.

As a Supported Housing Support Worker you will hold a caseload of residents, working with them on a one-to-one basis with also facilitating group work sessions. You will identify their needs by listening to them, with employing psychologically informed approaches to enable residents to make better choices and take responsibility for their actions. 

You will be helping them to improve their practical living skills such as cleaning, budgeting, managing behaviour, seeking, and securing employment and making wise decisions. You will help to contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations. 

In addition, you will work closely with external services such as, Social Services, Police, Probation, education providers and local organisations. Our services already have excellent working relationships with them, and your role will build on these. 

Based on site, this role is on a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

You will be the commercial expert for your assigned 'place' in the UK. Providing expert advice and support to the place-based Associate Director across all stages of business development and management. From capturing intelligence through to developing and delivering successful proposals/tenders and lifecycle contract management.

You will work with health and social care sector commissioners to establish effective relationships and to maximise income from existing and new services and generate service innovation for the charity. You will be supported by 1-2 Business Leads (dependent on your assigned area).

This role contributes directly to growth in Marie Curie through the management of proposals, tenders and funding applications, following standard processes for developing business case, contract terms approval and risk assessment. The Dementia Support Line Team Leader is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Support Line which receives over 60000 calls per year and operates across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. 

The Dementia Support Line Team Leader manages a team of Dementia Advisers providing leadership and direction to ensure they provide a highly responsive service, giving appropriate advice and support to people affected by dementia. 

In this role you will coach and develop your team to deliver high quality person-centred support for everybody affected by dementia. You will be part of the team ensuring management cover across the operating hours of the service. We are looking for someone who exemplifies our values, someone who is: Determined to make a difference when and where it matters most. Key responsibilities: 

- Responsible for the recruitment, development and performance management of Dementia Advisers working within the service. Use coaching and mentoring and strong people management skills to ensure a positive outcome on service quality, employee satisfaction, productivity, absence management, and employee emotional resilience.  
- Engender a positive, solutions focussed working environment with a good team spirit and sense of equity. 
- Manage competing demands and deadlines by adopting a flexible and proactive approach. 
- Enable and empower advisers to work to their potential and contribute to the supportive and collaborative culture within the hub management team.
- Support advisers across sites and maintain the rota to ensure appropriate levels of staffing are in place throughout the service hours to meet the demand and needs of people affected by dementia.
- Contribute to projects and continuing service improvement activities. 

About you
 
As a Dementia Support line Team Leader you will:

- Be able to manage your team to ensure the provision of a high quality service to people affected by dementia.
- Have experience of managing staff as well as strong IT skills and the ability to use management data to ensure KPIs and standards of service are met.
- Have experience of integrated telephony systems and service user databases.
- Have an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers and direct experience of working in a lead role in a telephone and e-mail based service.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have the ability to coach, mentor and support staff, getting the best out of them.

• Support the design, development and continuous improvement of finance processes and quality and system improvement projects.

The successful candidate will have:

• Part-qualified with a CCAB qualification or evidence of equivalent experience in a similar role.
• Experience of working in a management accounting, finance business partnering or related financial role.
• Ideally experience working in the public sector, but this is by no means essential.
• Proven experience of working collaboratively, including working with internal and external people in positions of influence to develop and implement customer-focused business solutions.
• Ability to analyse, summarise and communicate financial data and information clearly and accurately to non-financial budget managers.
• Ability to provide constructive challenge to budget managers.

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated, experienced fundraiser to oversee and drive forward all of our income generation. This post will work closely alongside our various teams and projects to raise awareness of our work among potential supporters. The postholder will be responsible for building sustainable and diverse income streams through regular giving, bid writing, events, and corporate partnerships. You will establish engaging supporter journeys that maintain long-term relationships with regular donors, high net worth supporters, and corporate clients.

Here's the person specification for the role:

• At least 2 years of experience of proven success in a fundraising role.
• Detailed knowledge of at least one of the following: trusts and foundations / individual giving / community / corporate fundraising.

Role Summary

The Operations Executive will join a small but rapidly growing team working at GH50/50. Within this role, and in close collaboration with the Head of Operations you will ensure high quality administrative support across GH50/50, setting the entire team up for success. This is a crucial role that will ensure that things run effectively and efficiently in support of our mission.

This is a brand new role for GH50/50, therefore we are looking for a bright, self-starter who can work with the Head of Operations to shape the role; providing recommendations to the organisation on administrative processes and own their projects from conception to delivery.  You will play a pivotal role in supporting the charity's administrative and strategic initiatives as we enter a new phase of growth. We foresee that the successful candidate will enjoy variety, will be highly organised and will have a can-do attitude.

Job Responsibilities:

o Support the Head of Operations in the smooth and efficient running of the GH50/50 office.

o Collaborate with the Head of Operations to source and roll out a new organisation-wide management system for GH50/50, ensuring thoughtful integration into our current working practices.

o Organise the Co-CEOs calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments.

o Support the Head of Operations to prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and documents as required.

o Alongside the Head of Operations, maintain effective office management and administrative procedures.

o Manage and triage the organisational email account

o Monitor and update the organisation-wide contact database

o Ensure compliance with data protection and ethics legislation, including being up to date with GDPR requirements (training can be provided).

o Coordinate support to the team on basic financial management tasks, including expense claims and other reporting.

o Arrange and coordinate internal and external meetings, including managing calendars, conference call logistics, venue booking and wider meeting preparation tasks, preparing agendas, and minute-taking/dissemination of actions.

Skills and Qualifications:

● A keen self starter, who is passionate about the GH50/50 mission and where they can have impact.

● Experience in working with or for academic institutes for research organisations would be beneficial, as would experience working with a remote team with globally based stakeholders

● Excellent organisational and time management skills.

● Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with high emotional intelligence.

● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with HR and financial management systems.

● Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative professional relationships with a wide range of partners across diverse contexts, including whilst working remotely.

Senior Quality Assurance Officer

Location: Remote (UK based) with travel required

Salary: £34,200 (Grade 4) per year (plus Inner London Weighting of £3,483.94, if eligible)

Length of contract:  Fixed Term Contract 12 months

Hours per week: 37 hours per week – some flexibility required around the standard working pattern due to site visits etc.

Who are Women’s Aid?

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

 

Purpose of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer role: 

As Senior Quality Assurance Officer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting and innovating Women’s Aid’s National Quality Standards (NQS) offer for member services. Sitting within Women’s Aid’s busy Membership Team, the postholder will successfully lead in supporting member services to continually improve and evidence good quality specialist responses to survivors’ needs in local service provision and will support the internal team alongside external consultant assessors to deliver a strong quality framework that reflects the diversity, and complex work of our members.  A key time for Women’s Aid to connect our policy work, our membership and our strategic campaigning work around the standards that fully represents the unique value of the membership body. 

 

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer:

• To be responsible for the coordination of delivery of Women’s Aid National Quality Standards assessments including ensuring assessment processes are completed in a timely manner. 
• Scheduling Quality Assessment Panels including recruitment of panelists. This will include responsibility for ensuring terms of reference are fulfilled and ensuring potential conflicts of interest are identified and addressed. 
• Presenting assessments to the Quality Assessment Panel in the unavoidable absence of the assessor and notetaking including recording outcomes, actions and decisions where required.
• To support the Chair of the Quality Assessment Panel in conducting panel meetings and highlight areas of risk or conflict to the Chair in advance of meetings.
• Be first point of contact for dealing with appeals and complaints, managing low to middle-risk complaints and escalating to the Membership Resolution Manager as required for high risk complaints. 
• Responsibility for allocation of assessments to internal and consultant assessors ensuring target dates are met and operational considerations, such as location and conflict of interests, are considered. 
•  To conduct quality standards assessments of domestic abuse services, including reviewing evidence, making site visits, writing assessment reports and presenting cases to the Quality Assessment Panel.
• Review of assessment reports for quality, adherence to standards and consistency prior to presentation at Quality Assessment Panel, including giving feedback to the assessor and ensuring this is actioned.
• Develop a clear strategy and delivery plans to support the sustainability and growth of the Women’s Aid National Quality standards including supporting increase of income-generation activities.
• Line management of Quality Assurance Officer including day-to-day support, supervision and appraisal activities.
• To work across WAFE to promote the Women’s Aid National Quality Standards to commissioners and government as the ‘gold standard’ quality framework for services working with women and child survivors of domestic violence.

• Knowledge of quality frameworks appropriate to domestic violence services.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Purpose: Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.

About the role
This is a senior role working across the whole Charity, tasked with growing public awareness and support for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. Leading on marketing, PR, brand and design, this role will manage relations with media, stakeholders, supporters and the wider public, creating and delivering engaging campaigns, generating support for the Charity, demonstrating impact and increasing income generation.

We are now looking for our next hire - an experienced Operations Manager - to help us support our ambitious plans.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This newly created role will be responsible for defining, shaping and implementing key processes and systems related to programme management, and overall business operations including finance. These processes will enable us to streamline our business and support the needs of our companies programmes and funding requirements.

In addition, this role will be responsible for overseeing our facilities management and internal operations to ensure we are compliant and have H&S at the heart of everything we do.

What you will be responsible for:

• Be responsible for all aspects of the management, development and maintenance of SCA Port Hope building, site and its external premises. 

• Ensure statutory inspections and routine checks on health and safety and security are scheduled, undertaken, accurately recorded and, where appropriate, and reported in a timely fashion. This includes fire and security alarm systems and equipment, any others that are relevant. 

• Liaise with relevant authorities in the management of the site and buildings eg the Environment Agency, Birmingham City Council etc as required. 

• Manage the provision of services eg insurance and utilities, working with the Executive Director to undertake due diligence and secure competitive quotes. 

• Oversee the company’s compliance with all legislative and contractual requirements. 

• Commission and manage relationships with all contractors working within the buildings and external premises, including maintenance as required.

• Plan the delivery of all capital works to the building with the production manager (funding pending) 

• Act as a key-holder and be on call should issues occur out of hours. 

• Ensure procedures and processes are followed to protect the security of the buildings and site. 

• Work with the freelance staff to ensure they have the appropriate training on Health and Safety, First Aid, Manual handling etc. 

• Prepare required reports and recommendations for Team, Board and funders as required. 

• Manage operational contracts such as refuse collection, etc.

• Lead on the organisation’s Health and Safety Strategy, including provision of adequate first aid and fire safety. 

• Oversee and ensure implementation and communication of site and operational risk assessments.

• Ensure compliance with all legal obligations and licensing requirements including: Public Entertainment, Health and Safety, PAT testing etc. 

• Take a lead on SCA environmental responsibility, ensuring SCA seeks to reduce its carbon footprint and we operate as efficiently as possible, including waste disposal, disposal of used areosols, recycling schemes and reporting of such to funders. 

• Advance planning of production schedules in conjunction with the Studio Assistant to ensure that events can be set up in good time.

• Ability to support a variety of configurations of our multi-purpose space with some basic technical knowledge.  Specialist training will be provided.  This will include audio visual display equipment, basic sound systems, setting up multi party Zooms, seating and desk configuration.

ABOUT YOU:

• Experience of managing the maintenance and operation of buildings. 

• Knowledge of safety and workplace legislation and experience of managing and delivering a policy and activity eg risk assessment writing and review. 

• Experience of setting and managing budgets and financial projections to ensure best use of resources through prioritisation and planning. 

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload. 

• Self-motivated, practical and flexible with a positive outlook and can-do attitude. 

• IT literate, with experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. 

• Interest and/or experience in technical delivery 

• Willingness to be part of an on-call rota, and to work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• Health and Safety qualification (IOSH / NCRQ / NEBOSH). 

• Previous experience of managing building management systems. 

• Experience of managing small scale capital projects including financial, operational and health and safety requirements.

• Deliver high quality, targeted and tailored advice to kinship carers in England and Wales.
