The successful Programme Manager will manage current programmes in Sierra Leone (working with a corporate on child labour and strengthening CBOs for more inclusive governance) and support the development of new programmes in Kenya and possibly Tanzania.   The Programme Manager will play a key role in the development of APT Action on Poverty.

Reporting directly to the CEO, your key responsibilities will be: supporting contract delivery and financial management, developing/maintaining donor relationships, seeking new partnerships and project opportunities, proposal development and applications to institutions.

Experience of living and working in East or West Africa, a track record in proposal development and applications to institutions, knowledge of livelihood development and rights based approaches are key areas for this role.

This is a remote role, we meet up once a month in Evesham.  We will also consider applicants who wish to work 80% FTE.

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

Purpose of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer role: 

As Senior Quality Assurance Officer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting and innovating Women’s Aid’s National Quality Standards (NQS) offer for member services. Sitting within Women’s Aid’s busy Membership Team, the postholder will successfully lead in supporting member services to continually improve and evidence good quality specialist responses to survivors’ needs in local service provision and will support the internal team alongside external consultant assessors to deliver a strong quality framework that reflects the diversity, and complex work of our members.  A key time for Women’s Aid to connect our policy work, our membership and our strategic campaigning work around the standards that fully represents the unique value of the membership body. 

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Quality Assurance Officer:

• To be responsible for the coordination of delivery of Women’s Aid National Quality Standards assessments including ensuring assessment processes are completed in a timely manner. 
• Scheduling Quality Assessment Panels including recruitment of panelists. This will include responsibility for ensuring terms of reference are fulfilled and ensuring potential conflicts of interest are identified and addressed. 
• Presenting assessments to the Quality Assessment Panel in the unavoidable absence of the assessor and notetaking including recording outcomes, actions and decisions where required.
• To support the Chair of the Quality Assessment Panel in conducting panel meetings and highlight areas of risk or conflict to the Chair in advance of meetings.
• Be first point of contact for dealing with appeals and complaints, managing low to middle-risk complaints and escalating to the Membership Resolution Manager as required for high risk complaints. 
• Responsibility for allocation of assessments to internal and consultant assessors ensuring target dates are met and operational considerations, such as location and conflict of interests, are considered. 
•  To conduct quality standards assessments of domestic abuse services, including reviewing evidence, making site visits, writing assessment reports and presenting cases to the Quality Assessment Panel.
• Review of assessment reports for quality, adherence to standards and consistency prior to presentation at Quality Assessment Panel, including giving feedback to the assessor and ensuring this is actioned.
• Develop a clear strategy and delivery plans to support the sustainability and growth of the Women’s Aid National Quality standards including supporting increase of income-generation activities.
• Line management of Quality Assurance Officer including day-to-day support, supervision and appraisal activities.
• To work across WAFE to promote the Women’s Aid National Quality Standards to commissioners and government as the ‘gold standard’ quality framework for services working with women and child survivors of domestic violence.  

What we are looking for in our Senior Quality Assurance Officer:

• Knowledge of quality frameworks appropriate to domestic violence services.  
• Knowledge and proven experience of the principles of quality assurance and good practice in delivering accreditation processes.   
• A very good understanding of the experiences and needs of women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence and violence against women and girls and the intersectionality that impacts this
• Thorough understanding of the role of specialist services supporting women and children at risk of violence against women and girls   
• Experience of writing and producing briefings and reports   
• Experience of planning, delivering and managing projects within a set timeframe and with clear outputs.  
• Experience of providing and/or managing direct services to survivors of violence against women and girls.   
• Excellent verbal, written and computer literacy skills.   
• Ability to analyse complex information and identify the implications for women and children affected by domestic violence and the services supporting them.

We are seeking a Mission Enabler, Regional Mission to work in partnership with key staff across the Movement. They will provide direction and energy to Scripture Union’s Regional Ministry with a focus on establishing and sustaining ministry opportunities. · Identify, recruit and support Faith Guides, volunteers and Local Mission Partners (LMPs) through a range of methods, including electronic, phone and face to face.

· Lead local mission activity within Scripture Union’s mission framework, establishing a clear hand-over process and timetable to local church partners.

• Lead on the capacity development of staff and partners on use of the portal for data collection and extraction.
• Ensure the portal is fit for purpose, including interacting with service providers on troubleshooting and improvement.

We’re looking for a creative, dynamic and enthusiastic comms professional to join us on our mission to ensure no child or young person ever has to grieve alone. As our Brand & Marketing Manager you will be at the forefront of growing and developing the Winston’s Wish brands and find new and innovative ways to reach the children and young people who need us. This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days will be the same.

From sharing the voices of our incredible Youth Ambassadors far and wide, to marketing fantastic fundraising initiatives to identifying new opportunities to reach young people, you’ll play a fundamental role in ensuring bereaved children and young people know they can put their trust in Winston’s Wish when their worlds are turned upside down by grief.

Main Responsibilities

• Marketing outreach and project management
• Work alongside the Director of Marketing & Communications to action the charity’s strategic marketing plan.
• Lead a team of marketeers in planning, delivering and measuring effective projects to drive revenue and reach across multiple areas of the company.
• End to end management of comms plans to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard using data and analysis to refine and develop plans in order to reach targets.
• Oversee marketing activity across all channels, with a strong emphasis on developing data led digital marketing. Ensuring the team are constantly analysing, refining and optimising.
• Write influential and fluent copy aimed at different target audiences to engage and ultimately drive interest.
• Actively identify and motivate the team to recognise opportunities to market Winston’s Wish to reach our identified audiences.
• Work with the charity’s approved freelance designers to oversee the creation and delivery of marketing assets and artwork, adhering to our brand style and tone of voice.
• Support the PR & Marketing Officer to identify and respond to media requests and create opportunities that grow the charity’s reputation. 

Brand Management

• Work alongside the Director of Marketing & Communications to embed a cohesive and engaging brand identity to create memorable and consistent experiences for all.
• Develop our visual identity in a way which brings our cause and purpose to life in the most engaging and inspiring way possible.
• Grow and manage our database of brand and marketing assets and materials.
• Use market insight and analytics to continuously develop our brand to position Winston’s Wish as a leader in our sector. 

Team Management & Administration

• Work alongside the Director of Marketing & Communications to lead our marketing and communications team, ensuring there is a clear direction of travel, an understanding of purpose and an exemplary culture embedded to drive future success.
• Line manage the Digital Marketing & Communications Officer and PR & Marketing Officer.
• Effectively manage expenditure across all projects and campaigns in line with agreed expenditure budgets.
• Effective reporting as required in line with agreed objectives and KPIs.
• Ensure that the recording of permissions and consents is adhered to in line with our policies and procedures and in accordance with GDPR. 

All Staff

• Contribute to the vision and mission of Winston's Wish; whilst embedding the values into your daily work activities.

• Contribute to the overall success of the charity’s fundraising needs by providing case studies, attending events and adding value to the experience of our supporters as required.

• Ability to be passionate and inspiring when communicating the work of Winston’s Wish.
• Excellent copywriting and editorial skills across multimedia channels.
• Experience of processing and turning complex information into compelling and relevant stories and content.
• Strong demonstrable experience of brand management and delivering strategic brand projects.
• A confident brand guardian with experience of developing and implementing brand guidelines, providing clear and well-reasoned feedback on a wide range of creative.
• A confident project manager, able to develop and roll out a strategic marketing plans that reach our intended audiences.
• Lead, enthuse and inspire colleagues at all levels to get behind our brand and marketing activities.
• Experience of managing and motivating a team.
• Ability to show empathy for the children, young people and families we support.
• Curious, creative and innovative, unafraid to challenge the status quo.

The role:

The BSAVA is looking for an experienced policy professional in the areas of policy development and legislative change set against a backdrop of a complex and regulated environment. The role operates within a changing landscape dealing with high-profile issues for the sector.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape BSAVA’s policies and national legislation with the aim of influencing outcomes of benefit to the veterinary profession, its clients and the health and welfare of companion animals.

Skills and experience:

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a track record of success, who can demonstrate excellent understanding of policy-making and legislative change in an unpredictable environment. They will have significant previous experience of working in a policy role, ideally within a life-sciences or a veterinary or human medicine setting.

Experience of working with central government departments along with an understanding of parliamentary processes are preferable for the role. Equally important is the ability to analyse and critique information, formulate evidence-based solutions and accurately convey proposals to influence outcomes.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with strong written and verbal skills. They will be able to demonstrate effective engagement skills across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including the membership. Diplomacy and political awareness will be essential to ensure successful outcomes. Experience of PR and reputation management as part of the policy-making agenda is desirable.

The candidate must be flexible to work outside of normal office hours depending on the demands of the role which are often driven by the external environment and national events. The role is hybrid, incorporating working from home with travelling to meetings in or around London as required.  Therefore, to facilitate the needs of the role and the organisation, ideally candidates would be located in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire or Oxfordshire.

Other essential skills include:

About the BSAVA:

The BSAVA is a professional membership association which exists to advance care for companion animals. With a membership of more than 11,000 veterinary surgeons, vet nurses and students, we work in the UK and internationally to promote excellence in small animal practice through education and science, by facilitating training, conducting research, and developing policy. Each year we deliver numerous education courses, host a large small-animal Congress, and publish books, manuals, apps, and magazines. 

This post sits within the Policy and (Corporate) Communications Department and reports to the Head of Department.
