Purpose of the job 

The Head of Policy & Public Affairs is responsible for leading UK Youth’s influencing work with Westminster, devolved administrations, and local government. They will lead our advocacy for ambitious and actionable policies that will help unlock youth work for all young people. They will ensure that our policy recommendations are informed by the strongest available evidence, meaningful youth involvement, and the expertise of youth workers. Working closely with the Policy Manager and our Senior Leadership Team, they will develop strong relationships with external stakeholders within the youth sector and government to gain buy-in for our policy priorities.

RJ4All is looking for an innovative UK Operations Director who will drive impactful social justice projects and community initiatives while fostering strategic growth and income generation. You will oversee our dynamic UK-based operations out of the Rotherhithe Community Centre, work closely with the Director, and lead our Centre-based team. 

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with expertise in preventing and addressing harm at the individual, community and inter-state levels. We are one of the world’s leading experts in transferring complex criminological and social justice concepts into practice through real-life pilots and community projects. 

The UK Operations Director will lead on the delivery, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of RJ4All’s UK-based services, and especially those run from the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre. It is expected that they will generate income for the UK operations and contribute to new ideas for UK-based projects that fall within RJ4All’s agreed strategy. Finally, the post holder will act in place of the Director when they are unavailable or for any other agreed reason.

This post requires leadership and strong ethical commitment to RJ4All’s core values and vision, independence balanced against organisational priorities and focus. To this end, the postholder is expected to have excellent communication with the Director, and be able to participate in complex, high level discussions with the non-executive directors and other stakeholders about the future of RJ4All. Key Tasks 

• Lead on the management of RJ4All’s UK Operations especially those run from the Rotherhithe Community Centre, ensuring its facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards. 

• To line manage the Community Project Coordinators and Officers, the Fitness team, administrators, finance support staff, interns and volunteers. 

• To lead on drafting applications for funding from government, trusts and foundations, donors and sponsors for UK programmes and services. 

• To lead on managing and delivering of all services running out of the Community Centre including the RJ4All Sports branch, Community Gym, YouthClubs+, Foodbank, and Community Library 

• To lead on creating and monitoring the UK Operations’ Theory of Change on annual basis, and review it against available data and individual projects’ Theory of Change. 

Qualifications 

Essential 

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a relevant field such as equalities or crime prevention 

• Experience in non-profit, CIC, or small business environment

• Experience in managing paid and volunteering personnel

• Demonstrated experience in fundraising 

• Experience in writing and monitoring budgets 

• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to contribute to decision-making and planning 

• Willingness to learn and develop as a leader, inspire others and self, motivate and set own priorities 

Desirable 

• Master's Degree in Social Sciences or related 

• Certified trainings in restorative justice and other relevant areas

BBC Children in Need have appointed an independent learning partner to work along The Children's Society, Children 1st and MACS to identify what we are learning across the programme nationally. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring your work with children and their families is recorded accurately and that the themes from this work are fed into the national learning that is utilised to create positive system changes for children who are struggling

Key responsibilities;

-To deliver 1-1 face-to-face, digital and telephone support to children, aged 8 - 13 struggling with their emotional health and wellbeing and their parents/carers where applicable.

-To assess and support children's self-management of their recovery through step care approach, including informal assessment and Goal Based outcomes for service users.

-To build positive and effective relationships with family members, in particular parents and carers, in order to support their children with their emotional health and wellbeing.

-Where appropriate, to offer interventions directly to parents/carers with the aim of improving the child's emotional health and wellbeing.

-Ensure accurate and timely case recording using a variety of management recording systems. The role does require good administration skills.

-To contribute to the overall monitoring and evaluation of the programme including but not limited to; supporting children and families to share their voice and experience, recording of data and outcomes and gathering feedback from children, parents and carers.

-Identifying risks and/or managing disclosures of a safeguarding nature ensuring that referrals are made whilst escalating where appropriate in line with TCS's safeguarding policy.

We are a well-established, independent charity based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and this is an exciting part-time opportunity for you to join our small and friendly team. 

The role
We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Mental Health Trainer to deliver short courses to groups of people in our community to improve their mental wellbeing. You will also deliver mental health awareness workshops to corporates and other organisations in and around the Tunbridge Wells area, and help to facilitate internal workshops with staff and volunteers. The main duties and responsibilities are:

1. Course Development:

• Design and develop short courses for specific groups of people in our community, with information and tools to enable people to manage their mental wellbeing, ensuring content is evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and relevant to diverse audiences.
• Develop workshops for corporates and other organisations on mental health and steps they can take to promote mental wellbeing in their workplace or organisation.

2. Course Delivery:

• Facilitate engaging and interactive short courses and workshops on mental health, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Provide practical tools and strategies for managing mental health and promoting mental wellbeing.

3. Participant Engagement:

• Foster a participatory and non-judgmental atmosphere that encourages open discussion and sharing among participants.

5. Promotion:

• Work with the Marketing Manager to develop and disseminate marketing and promotional materials and activities for the short courses.
• Attend events and meetings, and deliver talks, to promote the courses, training and the work of the wider charity.

6. Evaluation and Feedback:

• Collect and analyse feedback from participants to continually improve course content and delivery, and share feedback with colleagues.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the courses and workshops and make adjustments as needed.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

You will have experience of supporting people with complex mental health issues, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong networking and presentation skills and a passion for raising awareness about mental wellbeing. As a Mental Health Trainer, you will play a crucial role in representing the charity and enhancing the mental wellbeing of our community through the delivery of engaging and informative short courses and workshops.

You will be a great team player, and someone who is friendly, collaborative and who wants to contribute to a positive charity culture.

BACKGROUND

The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a specialist UK charity which provides expert care and support survivors of torture, trafficking and other extreme human cruelty. We work with hundreds of clients every year from all over the world.

The expertise of the Foundation is renowned in the field. Through the Model of Integrated Care, HBF offers survivors access to an individually tailored programme of specialist therapy, medical advisory services, legal protection including providing expert medico-legal documentation as part of the MLR Service, welfare and housing support, and creative and skills activities within an integration programme. Survivors of human trafficking benefit from HBF’s counter-trafficking programme of support.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

HBF is seeking an experienced and dynamic lawyer for an interim period to give direction to the Legal Protection, Medico-Legal and Client Services of the Foundation. This role is crucial for advancing the rights and protection of our clients, many of whom are vulnerable individuals seeking asylum or are survivors of trafficking. We do not provide legal representation directly to our clients, instead we act as a support team to our clients and their legal representation by providing second tier advice.  The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, ensure the highest standards of legal protection, and contribute to the overall mission of the Foundation including developing relationships that promote HBF’s expertise and reputation. This role requires exceptional people management and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team, foster collaboration, and articulate complex legal issues clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.

About the role 

You will be responsible for all aspects of communicating about, operational administration of and monitoring, evaluation and reporting for the programme.  Using data and insights to analyse the efficiency and impact of the awards made, you will recommend development of programme principles, criteria and operational delivery processes.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the operational management and delivery of the end to end Personal Assistance Grants programme process whilst maintaining excellent customer relationships
• Manage all required records and systems for grants awarded including financial requirements
• Lead and develop sustainable volunteer grants panel involvement that is representative of the communities the charity aims to support
• Manage and develop systems to monitor, review and evaluate the efficiency of the grants process and impact of grants awarded and recommend ongoing improvements
• Create relevant and appropriate communications, marketing and reports for the programme for a range of audiences and purposes

Job Profile

CAFOD, one of the 15 member agencies that make up the Disasters Emergency Committee, is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and stands alongside vulnerable communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

CAFOD is seeking a Governance Manager to temporarily support our Leadership & Governance team. Reporting directly to CAFOD’s Director and managing the Leadership & Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective governance, strategic leadership, and strong Trustee relations during this interim period. This is a part-time position requiring two days of commitment per week for approximately six months.

Key Responsibilities

During the period of cover, some of the key responsibilities include:  

Governance & Strategic Leadership 

• Providing oversight of CAFOD’s Governance work & assisting in the further development and funding of CAFOD’s governance. 

• Identify emerging trends in governance and ensure that learning is reflected in CAFOD’s work and proposals. 

• Working with the relative department heads to advise the Leadership Team on the likely impact of new initiatives on CAFOD’s current strategy.

• Ensuring CAFOD’s work is in line with Charity Commission requirements and ethical standards are maintained.

 Engagement & Reporting  

• With the Leadership and Governance Officer and L&G Assistant, to support the Director of CAFOD in managing the relationship between the Board of Trustees and Leadership Team. 

• Ensure that all aspects of the Leadership Team and Board meetings are organised and conducted effectively in line with CAFOD’s governance principles. 

• Providing strategic guidance and support to CAFOD’s Trustees and Leadership Team 

• Developing a plan for the production of CAFOD’s Annual Trustees Report, and project manage its delivery.

• Assist with the external communication of CAFOD’s governance work with key donors and supporters.

Team Leadership  

• Providing management/mentoring to the Leadership & Governance Assistant where applicable.

• Working with the Leadership & Governance Officer in planning a governance work programme for 2025. 

• Provide guidance and oversight of all critical projects and support the team to deliver its objectives on time and to budget. 

• Overseeing the recruitment and induction of trustees to CAFOD’s Board.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a strong level of analytical skills, strong experience of working with a grant management database (The Bloom Foundation uses Blackbaud) and an interest in learning from grant making to inform future practice. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely and the ability to think strategically. You will have good relationship building skills and a high level of diplomacy and able to deliver in a fast-paced environment. You will be proficient in office software packages, including MS Office and Excel and confident working accurately with figures.

The role is based in a modern, vibrant office in Camden on the canal. You will initially work 4 days a week in the office with 1 day from home. Following a successful probation period, your working pattern will be a minimum of 3 days in the office with 2 days from home. There will be some evening events, and some travel involved nationally to visit grantees. We are seeking 2 Specialist ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to join our Advocacy team at Respond. The role includes providing pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people with complex or multiple needs who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging, (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system. The ISVA will work across London to provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support, working in partnership with other London sexual violence support services. 

Our ideal candidate will have a friendly and relational approach to working with clients.  You will have the ability to build trusting relationships, work in an empowering and inclusive way and support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity. You will be a self-motivated individual who will engage with a wider range of people who have experience sexual violence, and other barriers to justice.
