If you have some events and/or sponsorship experience and are looking to develop your career in a friendly yet fast-paced environment, then this is the role for you. It’s a great time to join the team – we’re about to open bookings for two brand new conferences taking place in March next year and have many more events in the pipeline.
As well as working on our own events, you’ll support our presence at a packed calendar of sector events. There’s a lot to do, and that’s what keeps the job interesting - one day you may be on a site visit for a new event we’re planning, and the next you’ll be booking travel and accommodation for our senior leadership team to allow them to represent the ETF at an external conference.

All of this as well as a range of benefits – think generous annual leave (plus extra at Christmas), hybrid working, access to a comprehensive staff wellbeing programme, volunteering leave and more.
(This role requires at least one day a week in the office in Victoria, London, and overnight stays as necessary to attend events.)
Your profile
To assist in coordinating and project managing a varied portfolio of events, including an annual member conference, internal staff events, roundtables, and a range of face-to-face and online events as well as overseeing the ETF’s presence at sector trade shows and conferences.
To work with the events manager to proactively seek impactful speaking and sponsorship opportunities to help build the profile and raise awareness of our work within the FE and Skills sector.
To track the events budget, including regular reporting and tracking on spend.
To produce corporate display materials and collateral for events, giving consideration to sustainability, and working closely with the marketing team to ensure brand guidelines are upheld.
To contribute to the quality review process for contract-specific events.
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent organisational skills; able to demonstrate capability in multiple task management, prioritise workload and evidence of success in delivering outcomes to agreed timescales and tight deadlines.
- Strong IT Skills, Microsoft Office packages (word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
- Solution orientated – problem solver, flexible, adaptable & resilient
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively across teams and with a variety of people both interview and external to the organisation.
- Experience of project managing activities or events from inception to delivery
- Good attention to detail with the ability to monitor, review and support tasks.

Join The Bell Foundation as the new Head of Programmes and lead its work to break down language barriers, drive system change, and ensure that individuals who speak English as a second or additional language have increased opportunities to participate in the labour market and in the community.
Who we are.
The Bell Foundation is a UK-based charity focused on changing lives and overcoming exclusion through language education. Established in 2012, the Foundation works with children and adults who use English as an Additional Language (EAL). Its key programmes aim to improve educational outcomes for learners facing language barriers, support educators, and influence policy and practice to create a more inclusive society.
The Foundation collaborates with schools, policymakers, partners and other organisations to provide training, resources, and research.
About the role
This senior management position is key to driving and implementing the strategy for The Bell Foundation’s ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)Programme, overseeing the programme team and the budget.
You’ll lead on implementing the ESOL Programme and partnership strategies while collaborating closely with the Head of Training and Resources on the EALProgramme.
You’ll work with a dedicated team, including the Director, Communications staff, the Strategic Education Advisor, and external experts, to support the Foundation’s external policy and influencing work.
Who we are looking for.
We are looking for a dynamic, confident and credible individual who can ‘hit the ground running’ and lead the ESOL Programme into the future.
As an established leader, you will have the communication skills to engage with stakeholders and develop new partnerships at a senior level and the management skills to lead a small, highly skilled team of staff and external consultants.
We welcome applications from candidates with programme experience from a range of backgrounds. Prior experience of ESOL is not essential. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the ESOL Programme and bring meaningful change in ESOL delivery, working with a dedicated staff team and a high-functioning, ambitious board at a beautiful green site in Cambridge.

Unlocked Graduates exists to break cycles of reoffending, with a particular focus on breaking the link between disadvantage and reoffending. Currently prison is not a place which successfully does this: the average prisoner has 16 previous convictions and 48 percent of prisoners reoffend within a year of release. This is the problem which Unlocked Graduates exists to fix.
Prison officers are the agent of change for many prisoners. Of all the staff in prisons, they spend the most time with prisoners, they set the prevailing culture in prison, and we know that the most effective prison officers have a hugely positive impact on prisoners. Unlocked Graduates develops outstanding individuals to lead rehabilitation, and in doing so raises the status of the prison officer and makes the frontline of prisons a place where cycles of reoffending can be broken.
We have successfully recruited, trained and placed six cohorts of over 750 high potential graduates into prisons across England and Wales. We are in the Times Top 100 Graduate programmes and feedback on our participants has been extremely positive: they are doing a great job. Over the next few years, we are planning further expansion. We want to do more work in the prisons we are in, and work with more prisoners in more prisons.
The Role
This role sits within the Unlocked Programme Team, which holds responsibility for designing and running training for our new cohorts as well as supporting them across their two years, to enable them to have the most impact possible.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate to support our Programme Team with a wide variety of tasks. The successful candidate will gain an insight into: delivery, curriculum, our work with our Ambassador community as well as the specific training required to become a prison officer.
Our main office is based in London (remote working may be able to be accommodated but this will be discussed with candidates on an individual basis). The programme is national and so some travel is required to Birmingham and Manchester.
Why work for Unlocked?
Unlocked offers the satisfaction of working for a high performing and exciting organisation which is actively making an impact on one of the most challenging social justice issues which exists in our society today.
In addition, all employees at Unlocked are offered the following core package of benefits.
- 27 days’ annual leave
- 10% employer pension contribution
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Discounted gym and fitness membership
- Development opportunities
