Prospectus is excited to be working with a faith-based charity in their search for their new Head of HR. Focused on building strong relationships, internally and externally, they are looking for a creative and dynamic Human Resources professional. This is a part-time permanent role, 24 hours a week, offered on a hybrid contract.
As the organisation moves through a period of change, you will lead the HR function in this stand-alone position, working closely with the senior team to build a upon their organisational culture and support staff through the transition. You will be responsible for delivering all aspects of Human Resources as well as for partner organisations to which the organisation provides outsource operational services. You will be proactive in creating and implementing policies and procedures as well as embedding and promoting new employment legislation. You will also work with the organisations 80 communities around the country to help them to thrive and develop by embedding good HR practice and providing support through sound advice and guidance.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of HR will lead on staff recruitment and on-boarding, ensuring safer recruitment processes are adhered to, and that all staff have appropriate induction. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving appraisal and performance management by liaising with line managers to ensure that staff objectives are clearly set and reviewed and aligned to an agreed strategic plan. You will also ensure the organisation is up to date with new HR legislation, ensuring appropriate and timely implementation, including the development and renewal of policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR generalist, ideally with experience of supporting an organisation through a period of change. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to communicate with stakeholders from senior leadership team through to lay leaders. You will be calm, collected and be able to address conflicting priorities with ease. You will need knowledge of HR good practice and relevant legislation, especially new legislation, and have experience in developing and managing HR strategies, training plans, policies and handbooks and the ability and strong relationship building skills.

Key Responsibilities
You will be part of a small team of specialists who lead, advise and support the business and help deliver our strategy.
With around 160 staff members the HR Team play a hugely important role in all aspects from recruitment to learning, wellbeing to pensions. It is a small team, and we need someone with experience to deal with the multiple facets of HR and someone who is a “doer”. You should be as happy developing strategy as you are running a welcome induction. Life will not be boring, and you will work with some incredible people, and experience some incredible stories. You will go home every day knowing you have made a difference.
This role will require an experienced HR generalist with some knowledge of payroll. First and foremost, the postholder will lead the HR systems and management activity across KSS and ensure with the support of the team that the Core People Tasks are fulfilled to a high standard each month. Therefore, great team management and organisational skills are essential.
Secondly, the postholder in partnership with the People Business Partner will support the senior leadership team, managers and staff throughout the organisation to deal with HR related matters in whatever form they take. Ideally you will have an overview of organisational design and procedures, which will allow you to act as an adviser to resolve staffing issues/conduct, absence and sickness management, recruitment and retention. Empathy and an understanding of the importance of process are important characteristics.
Thirdly, with the core tasks complete there is then freedom to develop our approach to HR, internal culture and learning and put your own stamp on KSS. The postholder will work closely with all business areas to align the HR strategies with the business goals and organisational culture. By developing meaningful organisational-related policies, practices, and processes and, working with internal stakeholders, the postholder will take the lead on business strategies that could focus on a myriad of areas such as culture development, learning, organisational effectiveness, EDI, employee engagement or reward. ABOUT THE ROLE:
We need you to ensure all people managers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage employee relations in their teams and maintain a positive working environment in which their staff can flourish. WORK-LIFE BALANCE AND TRAVEL:

People & Culture Advisor
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The People and Culture Advisor will be instrumental in delivering efficient, timely and effective HR support and advice to employees, managers and leadership throughout the company. The role will be crucial in ensuring consistent and effective application of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives, thus having a positive contribution to a productive workplace.
General People & Culture Support:
· Acting as the primary point of contact for all IEU staff enquiries regarding policies, procedures, staff benefit, leave balances, and other general queries.
· Supporting implementation of key P&C projects and facilitating ongoing process improvements.
· Support employee engagement initiatives, including recurring surveys and engagement sessions.
· Recommending new approaches, processes and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the People & Culture department and services performed.
· Remaining abreast of changes to UK specific legislation and Employment Law and communicating relevant changes to UK based staff in a timely manner.
· Partnering with People & Culture Manager to deliver relevant training, ‘AMA’ sessions, and other initiatives as required.
· Coordinating P&C responses on behalf of IEU to internal and external audit requests.
· Supporting process and workflow development and data management within the Human Resources’ Information System as needed.
· Ensuring timely update of relevant databases, including group life cover, SMS Home Office system, and others
· Supporting, developing, and conducting staff trainings on People & Culture topics, policies, and processes
· Working closely with other members of the global People & Culture team to ensure the completion of standardized, efficient, streamlined People & Culture processes that supports a cohesive staff experience.

Employee Relations
· Providing first-level advice to employees, managers and leadership in line with UK employment law, best practice, internal policies and procedures and ACAS guidelines.
· Managing casework including, but not limited to: disciplinaries, grievances, absence reviews, flexible working requests, conflict resolution, redundancies, departmental changes, occupational health queries, performance improvement plans, etc.
· Producing and maintaining casework documentation, including Terms of Reference, minutes, notices, and follow-up correspondence.
· Escalating complex and/or unusual casework to People & Culture Manager.
· Providing coaching for managers on employee relations issues as requested.
· Ensuring all company policies remain up to date, periodically reviewing policies in order to implement relevant changes.
· Advising managers and leadership on the most appropriate casework steps, providing sound reasoning behind suggested options and clearly outlining potential risks.
· Maintain good working relations with all stakeholders, ensuring a discreet, diplomatic approach to Employee Relations issues as they arise.
· Maintaining excellent level of knowledge of current, recent and upcoming developments in UK employment law at a HR practitioner level.
· Managing all employee leave processes, including annual leave, sickness absence, maternity, paternity, adoption, TOIL, compassionate leave, etc.
· Escalating complex and/or unusual cases to People & Culture Manager
· Conducting exit interviews, identifying patterns and communicating to management in an aggregate form
· Producing periodic reports surrounding volume and nature of casework.
Payroll
· Processing timely updates of the payroll system records, including new joiners, leavers, student loan and salary sacrifice information and all variable changes.
· Ensuring all associated processes have been carried out in line with the supplier agreement and in good time.
· Serving as a liaison between the third-party payroll provider, P&C and Finance functions
· Producing all payroll related documentation including LoE changes, pay increases, maternity leave letters, deduction letters and other change letters as required.
· Generating a monthly pension report and timely uploading to the pension provider portal.
· Addressing all employee payroll and pay related enquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS

You will drive and manage the provision of people management guidance, and support the ongoing development of our people strategy.
The role holder will provide advice and guidance on HR policy direction and governance on people related matters; you will also provide HR support and guidance to staff and managers. The role holder will work with the Chief Executive Officer and Heads of Department to synchronise people related activities across the Belgrade Theatre organisation, including the annual appraisal/performance reviews.
The role holder will be accountable for people related organisational processes and infrastructure, as well as being required to demonstrate exemplary leadership standards and skills, act with integrity and actively contribute to team decision-making in a constructive manner. This role will lead cultural change in the Belgrade Theatre’s vision to embrace diversity and inclusivity.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications
- CIPD qualification at level 5 (Associate), or similar level of experience
Experience
- Strong knowledge and experience of core HR processes including; recruitment, selection, training and development, performance management as well as contracts, compensation and benefits,
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of all relevant employment legislation and statutory requirements, preferably including BECTU and Equity agreements,
- Strong competence in Microsoft office, including Excel,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Leading HR responsibilities for a 50-100 UK organisation with People and Human Resources related activities,
- Use of a HR Administrative system, preferably Breathe,

We are currently looking for a dedicated and dynamic People Officer to join our People and Culture Department on a full time, permanent basis.
The successful candidate will will support the Head of People Operations, by providing operational excellence and best practice across all day-to-day touchpoints of the employee lifecycle.
