We need to inspire and connect with youth justice services across England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are making good progress building the evidence of what works within and around youth justice to reduce violence, with new Practice Guidance and implementation resources due next year on diversion, mentoring and sports programmes. Working out the best way to make this change happen by getting more senior leaders within youth justice to use our Guidance, toolkit, research and implementation tools to inform day to day operations and strategic decision making.

Supporting the scoping and commissioning of behavioural insights research to support effective evidence mobilisation plans and strategies.
About you:
You understand the youth justice sector. You really understand how youth justice services work, from Heads of Services to frontline officers. You have experience working in/with youth justice, ideally in a role that worked with young people who are vulnerable to or involved in violence. You might have previous experience of supporting a youth justice to reflect on and adopt evidence-based practice.
You are fascinated about change and are experienced in making it happen. You have outstanding analytical judgment alongside the emotional intelligence and experience needed to identify the right opportunities for change, then make them happen. You understand why people find change difficult. You come alive talking about how people make decisions and why they do the things they do.

Key Relationships
· The Operations Director will report to the Chief Executive.
· The Operations Director will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working alongside the Philanthropy Director and the Programmes Director.
· You will line manage the Senior Finance Manager and the Office and Marketing Administrator.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Finance
- Ensure SCF’s policies, systems and processes support robust and efficient management of our finances.
- Work with the CEO ensure SCF has the financial strategy required to thrive as an organisation, working alongside other members of the SLT on a medium to long term planning horizon for the organisation’s income and expenditure requirements.
- Project manage the production of annual budget and cashflow forecasts and 3-year business plan forecasts.
- Ensure financial management policies and procedures are in place and that management and annual accounts (including Trustee Annual Report) are produced accurately and on time.
- Work closely with Philanthropy & Marketing and Programmes Teams to ensure the Foundation has accurate up to date financial information.
- Oversee the annual audit process and lead for the Executive on the appointment of auditors as necessary.
- Work with the Senior Finance Manger to keep under review the charity’s payroll, accounts, finance, and other systems to ensure they are fit for purpose and value for money.
- Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of a procurement and contract management system and ensuring a regular process of review of contracts and licences across all departments.
Governance
- Ensure secretariat support is provided to the Board and Finance & Governance Committee, managing production and distribution of agendas and papers, overseeing the organisation of meeting rooms, and ensuring accurate minutes are taken and produced timely.
- Oversee production, review, and implementation of SCF policies and procedures
- Ensure the Board and subcommittees are appropriately resourced and supported and receive timely and relevant information including inductions for new trustees.
- Support the Board and CEO by coordinating governance effectiveness reviews, including assisting with commissioning and supervision of external consultants.
- Act as Company Secretary, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and ensuring that decisions of the board of directors are implemented.
- Coordinate the production of an annual business plan and report to the Board on its delivery, including the quarterly Performance Report.
Operations, Performance & Quality
- Manage the recruitment and induction of new staff, liaising with SLT colleagues as necessary
- Responsible for ensuring effective line management processes and practices are in place and followed, and support line managers as necessary
- Responsible for ensuring professional development is prioritised across the organisation
- Lead on creating a healthy and psychologically safe working environment with a positive culture that promotes staff wellbeing, satisfaction and retention
- Take lead responsibility for the Foundation’s technology systems and processes, including CRM database (Salesforce), use of Artificial Intelligence, MS Office 365, online giving platforms, cyber security, liaising with UKCF and external contractors as necessary.
- Ensure that SCF’s office and other staff support systems are cost-effective and fit for purpose, liaising with and managing external suppliers.
- Act as SCF’s Data Controller and ensure organisational compliance with legislation by undertaking regular reviews of the information held, regularly updating and cleansing paper and electronic information sources accordingly.
- Act as the SCF Health and Safety Officer, including maintaining the Health and Safety register and ensure the Foundation has adequate first aid cover.
Person Specification - Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Required
· At least 2 years’ experience in a relevant senior management role

The role
The stewardship manager will report to the senior philanthropy operations manager.
We are seeking a creative and driven stewardship manager to join our team on a permanent basis. Working alongside members of the wider team, you will lead on creating and delivering a gold-standard experience for major donors supporting the Royal Free Charity, showcasing the impact their support has across our hospital sites. Your efforts will play a key role in ensuring continued, uplifted support of the charity.
You will play an important role within our philanthropy & campaigns team, helping to build relationships, and increase income, in a pivotal year for the charity. The role will offer significant scope for development, giving you the opportunity to grow your skillset in a supportive, ambitious, and high-performing team.
Responsibilities
· Work with members of the philanthropy & campaigns team to create and deliver a gold-standard stewardship experience for major donors supporting the Royal Free Charity, being actively involved across the cycle of a relationship before, during and after a gift.
· Lead on the charity’s approach to thanking and recognition of our major donors.
· Develop high quality and bespoke impact reports, newsletters and communications for supporters to convey the impact of their support, bringing them closer to the cause.
· Develop other key stewardship touchpoints and engagement opportunities for supporters, while remaining aware of different levels of giving.
· Work proactively in identifying potential stewardship opportunities, sharing ideas and suggestions with members of the team.
· Develop a plan for stewarding corporate supporters.

The team
Our dynamic fundraising department generated £4.5 million through donations in 2023/2024, and we are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the Royal Free Hospital site.
We ride ourselves on being supporter focused and agile, working at the heart of the charity to deliver impact for patients and staff across our hospitals.
Responsible for attracting and retaining donors, and delivering an outstanding supporter experience, the fundraising department comprises two teams which work closely together to achieve our shared objectives:
· Our Philanthropy & Campaigns team builds relationships with individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations, corporate organisations, and intermediaries, giving or facilitating donations of £10,000 or more to the charity each year. They lead major appeal activity for the charity, currently focused on the acquisition of a new surgical robot, our forthcoming cancer campaign, our essential volunteering, complementary therapy and support services, the charity’s first patrons’ programme, and special events to support these activities.
· Our Public Fundraising team harnesses the support and energy of individuals and groups, helping them to give back in the way that works for them. This includes committed giving, in memory support, gifts in wills, and fundraising events and challenges. Our database and supporter care teams sit within public fundraising, with their work underpinning and supporting the entire department.
Building on our achievements, our board of trustees has agreed to invest in expanding the fundraising team to develop a sustainable infrastructure that will support our growth ambitions.

Role overview
To be an integral part of the people team giving advice on a range of complex ER issues to employees and line managers. This is a specialist role that will look pro-actively to make improvements to policy and employee relations. There is also a generalist element to this position whereby the role will support day-to-day HR functions as part of the people team.

About you...
The role is ideal for someone with strong generalist HR experience and excellent knowledge and understanding of UK employment legislation, key HR legislation and HR systems to appropriately advise and lead on ER cases. Ideally you would need to be CIPD part qualified or studying towards a qualification.
We are looking for an organised and dependable individual who has a proven ability to work within a small team, and who can communicate effectively with a wide range of people both in written and oral form.

FareShare Midlands is the region’s largest food redistribution charity. We take good-to-eat surplus food from the food industry and get it to our Members - frontline charities and community groups all over the Midlands. We turn an environmental problem into a social solution.
Last year we redistributed almost 5,794 tonnes of food from our warehouses in Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham. It is sorted and stored by our dedicated teams of staff and volunteers, and then redistributed to around 800 Members including food pantries and cafes, homeless shelters and drop-in centres.
These local organisations turn the food into food parcels, affordable shopping and delicious meals for people of all ages. As well as food, our Members provide vital support to families and the elderly, many of whom are facing challenging circumstances and living in poverty.
Last year our food reached more than 83,000 vulnerable people every week, providing 13 million meals. At the same time, we are growing our Employability Programmes to help people gain work experience, skills and jobs.
The Role
FareShare Midlands is a high-profile charity with stakeholders from varying sectors not least over 500 companies in the food industry and FareShare UK. You will work towards, and achieve, a best-in-class in operation not accepting standards or a service that falls short of this.
As the senior person on site, you will be the key point of contact for operations, logistics and stock allocation for your region. You will be responsible for all compliance issues including food hygiene, health & safety and security of the depot and the safety and wellbeing of all visitors, contractors, depot staff and volunteers.
The main role will be to lead the successful day to day operations and ensure the ongoing success of the FareShare Midlands Regional Centres. This will involve working closely with staff and volunteers to ensure that all activities, including operational and order processing are completed to the agreed standard & daily timetable.
With colleagues in the Supply chain & Development functions, you will help develop new operational/logistic activity and lead on the implementation of growth of your RCs activity, capacity and output.
You will report to the Senior Operations Manager and will be a key member of the Operations team across the Midlands region. You will identify and share good practise within and outside the Midlands, working closely with colleagues in the other regional centres.
In agreement with the Senior Operations Manager, you will set out relevant Ops KPIs and targets and will join daily calls and weekly meetings to discuss and help resolve issues across the Midlands region, working as ‘one team’ with colleagues from other functions and regions.
Opening times:
Over the week the depot will be open for the hours required, with staff working 37.5 hours per week which may include working in evenings and weekends on a rota basis if the performance and growth of the region requires it.
