Main Areas of Responsibility

You will play a pivotal role in the strategic and financial leadership of Harris Federation, overseeing the financial operations of our 55 academies across London and Essex, ensuring our financial health, compliance with legal, legislative, and regulatory requirements, and alignment with educational funding policies. As the senior finance leader, you will work closely with the CEO, trustees, and senior management team to drive the financial strategy that supports the Harris Federation mission and educational goals.

Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) with significant post-qualification experience
• Are an experienced FD, ideally in Education or similar related industries such as healthcare, housing or charities
• Have proven experience at board level and with managing complex stakeholder relationships.

Battersea's Launchpad Programme team has been established at Battersea to deliver our huge exciting and transformational Data Strategy, streamlining the way we receive, manage and work with data right across Battersea. CBRL, the UK’s social sciences and humanities research hub in the region, seeks to appoint a new director. With centres in Amman, Jerusalem and London, CBRL fosters, produces and disseminates original, rigorous and independent research and invests in promising emerging scholars. Our overarching mission is to advance knowledge and understanding of the peoples and cultures of the Levant through scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.

The successful applicant will be a leading scholar with a background in the humanities, social or environmental sciences. They will have an outstanding research profile and demonstrable experience of academic leadership and strong general management ability. They will have a clear vision for building on CBRL’s existing strengths as a research centre and regional hub for scholars of the Levant.

Appointment Term: Initial period of 3 years.

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to advance the research agenda for cancer prevention and survival?

We are seeking a Research Funding Officer (Research Insight) to work mainly on our two grant programmes – the WCRF International Regular Grant Programme and the INSPIRE Research Challenge. As part of our Research Funding team, you will support high quality and innovative research on the effects of diet, nutrition, physical activity and body composition on cancer prevention and survival, managing an international portfolio of grants and working closely with leading researchers around the world.

The Research Funding Officer (Research Insight) will work mainly on the pre-award phase of the grant programmes (e.g. supporting the development and launching new calls for applications, organising and coordinating Panel meetings, managing the peer review process and contributing to the development of grant related Board documentation).

You will have some experience of working in a fast-paced research environment (academia or research administration/management), of writing in different formats and of communicating and presenting information to a range of audiences. You will be educated to BSc level (MSc level desirable but not essential) in Biological Sciences or Nutrition.

You will also have some experience working with scientific committees and understanding and awareness of general research management and administration policies and procedures.

In addition to the grant programmes, you will have the opportunity to contribute to other Research Funding activities such as the surveillance of the current research landscape and co-funding opportunities. You will work closely with colleagues across the Science Department and with other departments such as Communications and Fundraising.

Sex Education Forum was founded in 1987 and became an independent charity in 2021. We convene over 70 Partner organisations to make sure that the relationships and sex education (RSE) young people get is right for them and the best it can be. We train educators and share research with teachers, school leaders and policy-makers. We will soon be launching a new three-year strategy and have secured multi-year funding to further embed youth inclusion in our work. Having doubled our staff team over the last two years we have identified the need for a new senior post, which will be a cross-cutting role working closely with the CEO, enabling us to realise the ambitions of our strategy, and systematically development all areas of our business.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence across England and Wales. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding out what works and working for change.

Key Responsibilities

YEF is entering a new phase of growing scale and ambition. There is more urgency and scope than ever for us to contribute meaningfully towards preventing violence amongst children and young people. Communicating with, informing and persuading our growing audiences about the vitality of our mission will require being innovative, hands-on and prepared to speak out with humanity and boldness.

The Public Affairs and Communications Team is crucial for effectively communicating and promoting YEF's ideas to a wider audience and driving demand for the evidence about what works to prevent violence amongst children and young people. We can only hope to achieve our mission if those working in our sectors hear from us about what works, trust our research and put our guidance into practice. We need policymakers, politicians and people in charge of services to listen and act, but also youth-workers, police, social workers, headteachers and young people to believe in our movement for change on the ground. We want to continue being a leading voice in the national conversation about preventing violence.

​Your job will be essential to this. You will support the Public Affairs and Communications team to communicate our work as thoughtfully, impactfully and creatively as possible through engaging media communications and PR campaigns, video-led social media content and strategic digital marketing.

Communications, Media and PR

• Drafting, managing and distributing stakeholder communications across public affairs and media for new YEF publications and outputs.
• Identifying and generating monthly media opportunities through outreach with journalists and collating media, publication and journalist lists.
• Managing the @hello organisational inbox and other communications streams.
• Managing the distribution and development of the case study template and supporting with the successful launch of the grantee storytelling programme. ​

Team Support and Administration

• Organising and note-taking for weekly team meetings and tracking the timely completion of minutes and actions.
• Identifying and generating new public speaking and audience engagement opportunities for Director of Public Affairs and Communications. ​

You may ideally have, but they are not essential:

• Experience of working for an organisation that works with, or on issues affecting, children and young people. ​

• Short-form video production and editing skills, particularly in service of TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. ​
• Experience of working with journalists, publications and online platforms on bringing content, media and PR campaigns to life. ​​

Hybrid Working

The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. You will be a Christian, with a breadth of senior strategic leadership experience in an international cross-cultural Christian mission setting, commercial and relationship building skills and compassion and wisdom to navigate the opportunities and challenges of the season ahead. You will also be passionate about our vision to reach people for Christ.

The Sales and Membership Officer will deliver vital support to ensure school libraries are at the heart of every school community. This role will play an important part in growing our membership and supporting the development of school libraries and all the benefits they bring, across the UK. We engage with educators across the school community, in order to advocate for effective school libraries and ultimately support the personal, social and academic development of children and young people. 

We need somebody who is confident, a natural, creative salesperson; with sales experience and a flair for persuasion. We are looking for somebody who cares about the customer and delivering incredible value; who is always thinking of how to innovate and reach new audiences, has a creative approach to problem solving, all while enhancing the value of SLA membership.

Duties include:

· Sell membership, services and events recruiting and retaining new members through strategic and innovative partnerships.

· To be a point of contact for our membership, managing queries and supporting members to make the most of the SLA.

· To respond promptly to inquiries from prospective members, members, executive officers, the public and other industry bodies.

· To undertake member market research.

· To maintain and update membership records and marketing databases

· Assist with the member renewal process, follow up on resignations, and compile reports and analysis on membership trends using the CRM system

· Assist in the creation and update of membership and marketing materials (such as: emails, new member welcome packs, membership directories, member listings, member questionnaires and brochures)

· To co-ordinate member recognition programmes (such as loyalty schemes and engagement scoring)

The salary for this position is £26,000 for full time, 37 hours, and comes with a 6% employer pension contribution.

This is a remote working role, with a monthly meeting in person at our current Head Office (Swindon) which you will be expected to attend, in addition to relevant member events. As Digital Content Officer, the main focus of your role will be website content – creating and publishing pages with accessible content - and ensuring the ongoing maintenance of our website. You will be the first point of contact for BDF staff requesting page creation, content publishing and support with website issues.
