We are looking for a Finance Manager with experience in contract negotiation to join our  Senior Management Team (SMT) for two days a week.  We have a track record in successful grant applications and are looking to generate income from the delivery of services.

We want to find someone who can use their financial and analytical skills to support our SMT in growing our Charity to support residents in Lambeth. The postholder will be supported by our Finance Officer in delivering our finance operations.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is the senior lay officer in the Cathedral and has the responsibility for managing the business functions of the Cathedral and monitoring operational performance.

The Role:

A fantastic charity focused on the provision of specialist mental health accommodation & services for the needs of those experiencing serious mental illness, is seeking a Head of Finance & Corporate Services for a brand-new role as they continue to grow. With a turnover of around £4million per annum and diverse funding streams from local NHS and council authorities, the organisation of around 100 staff is now continuing its growth journey.

The charity provides accommodation and services across Birmingham and London; however, the charity’s office is in central Birmingham. The role is permanent, part-time (4 days per week) with a salary of £66,250 - £68,750 per annum FTE (£53,000 - £55,000 per annum pro-rata) and is hybrid in nature with 2 days per week expected onsite in the Birmingham office. FTE is based on a 37.5 hour working week, so 4 days equates to a 30-hour working week – there is flexibility around how these hours can be spread. The Head of Finance and Corporate Services is a newly created role and will be responsible for the internal operations of the company. This involves overseeing the finance, human resources, IT and compliance functions. • Ensure relevant statutory, regulatory, and professional standards are wholly achieved in relation to policies, processes and procedures, particularly in respect of finance, governance, employment legislation and IT functions.

The post is part of the Senior Leadership (SLT) team, and you will manage a settled team of 2 including a fully qualified Finance Manager and an HR Manager. Much of the IT is outsourced.

The role would be best suited for a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) with prior experience in a similar senior level finance role within the charity sector. You will be expected to demonstrate strategic ability around financial planning and contract monitoring and be able to provide a top-level overview of how the organisation structures its corporate services functions moving forwards. A strong knowledge of charity finance – contracts and restricted funds is required, and experience in a similarly broad role covering other areas of corporate services such as HR and IT would be a big advantage.

Bridge 5 Mill is a centre of social change in a historic 5 storey mill on the edge of Ancoats, comprising workspaces and event spaces. Our unique sustainable and ethical approach characterises our building and drives all our activities. This is great news, as the period without a lift had a significant impact on our community of tenants, wider users and also therefore, on our income from venue hire (with much less events able to take place during this time). This came on the tail of the Covid pandemic, which transformed how and when people use workspaces and events spaces. The funding means we are now at a pivotal time to rebuild both our events program and our offer as a beautiful, ethical and central venue to hire, as well as exploring how to diversify our services. Keeping in touch with more than 10,000 alumni around the world and stewarding gifts of more than c. £1 million per year, we are a public-facing team and as our Events and Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our supporters feel valued and engaged. We are looking for someone to join the St Mungo’s People, Culture and Inclusion team as a Senior Internal Communications Officer. You will work closely with the Head of Internal Communications and Internal Communications Officer to develop and deliver clear, consistent communications that inform and engage colleagues.

In the role of Senior Internal Communications Officer you will produce content for a range of communication channels, alongside other key responsibilities:

• Leading the day-to-day management and longer term improvements of our intranet, ensuring it is easy for colleagues to find the information they need to do their roles. 
• Playing a key role in managing our regular webinars and events for colleagues, and have opportunities to lead on communications campaigns and projects.
• Advising colleagues on communications best practice and promoting a culture of mutual respect, diversity and inclusion.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building  opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations. 

About you

We are looking for a creative individual with excellent communication skills who can demonstrate their experience of working in a communications role, ideally for an internal audience.  

• You will have experience of creating compelling and accessible communications in different formats for a range of online and offline channels.
• You will have an interest in working with others, and able to build positive relationships with colleagues including senior stakeholders.
• You will have hands-on experience of managing and developing intranets or websites.
• You will be confident coordinating and managing both online and offline events.
• You will also be able to demonstrate experience of planning and evaluating campaigns and projects to ensure they support our strategic goals.

ABOUT THE ROLE 
You will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the organisation. You will
also lead on the charity’s year-end accounts ensuring that financial statements are prepared in line with the latest SORP requirements, and liaising directly with the organisation's external auditors.
The main purpose of this role is to:
- Manage the accounts department to run efficiently and effectively. 
- Ensure sales and purchase ledgers are accurate and up to date, other income is recorded accurately, profit and loss reports provided monthly and management reports are provided quarterly and end-of-year is completed on time. 
- Manage banking arrangements to make supplier payments, collect income through direct debits and online payment gateway.

Over the last 3 and a half years the Learning and Development team have built a solid environment to enable our employees to develop their skills, knowledge and experience, add value and drive organisational performance. This development is key to the success of Alzheimer’s Research UK, and we are looking for a dynamic trainer/facilitator or join the L&D team to cover a period of Maternity leave.

The Learning and Development Trainer/Specialist plays a critical role in designing and delivering a broad range of learning and development programmes and catalogue of courses which support and enable individuals. We deliver a wide range of training from Masterclasses, EDI, Values and Culture, Psychometric profiling and Leadership and Development programmes and this is where you will spend approximately 80% of your time. Most of this training is delivered face to face at our offices in Abington Cambridge.

Responsible for the delivery and evaluation of facilitated classroom-based and virtual learning training, this role will help to create an environment of continuous learning and provide opportunities for individual and team development. This role will work closely with the Learning and Development Co-ordinator and will liaise with training venues, manage bookings, and oversee internal data to evaluate training requirements.

As part of the wider HR Team, the Learning and Development Trainer/Specialist will also work effectively as an integral part to the team by providing input and support into the organisational wide initiatives and projects. In addition, the Learning and Development Trainer/Specialist will proactively contribute to the development of policy, processes and procedures, along with providing comprehensive guidance and support across the charity.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive post holder, to cover a period of maternity leave. 

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Work alongside internal stakeholders to deliver and embed a bespoke Leadership Development Programme, Management Development Programme and various Masterclasses which enables employees to build on their skills, knowledge and capabilities and enhances performance at an individual, team and organisational level.

· Continue to review, evaluate and build upon the L&D programmes offered, identifying and making recommendations to the Head of Learning & Development to ensure the content remains current and aligned to the strategic direction and business needs.

· Provide support in identifying strengths and opportunities to further develop the skills, knowledge and capabilities of individuals and teams.  Make recommendations to the Head of Learning & Development which are evidence-based and underpin both the Learning & Development and Organisational strategies.

· Foster and develop an embedded culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Training - Design & Delivery:

· Create and deliver up to date, engaging and professional training content.

· Facilitate and deliver a variety of training programmes to new and existing employees, through face-to-face, hybrid (blended) and virtual learning.

· Create and build resources that support our current learning catalogue.

· Create, build and manage LinkedIn learning content to support all L&D initiatives.

· Research training delivery options and resources including digital / online and hybrid (blended) solutions.

· Present learning solutions, logically and with credibility and authenticity, to gain buy-in from stakeholders.

· Confidently engage with learners of varying abilities, using a broad range of training methodologies and questioning techniques.

· Provide support with a learner’s progress by delivering motivational and developmental feedback.

· Manage participation and ensure learning objectives for each training session is achieved.

· Use effective coaching skills to encourage learners to define their personal development plans and achieve their learning objectives.

Training - Course Administration:

· Work with a variety of internal stakeholders to plan and prepare the implementation of any L&D  programmes/courses, including advertising courses and dates, monitoring bookings and taking a proactive approach to increase attendance numbers when they are low.

· Complete evaluation mechanisms for learning outcomes including the use of quantitative and qualitative feedback where appropriate.

· Working closely with the L&D coordinator and Head of L&D to collate and analyse data from L&D programmes, courses and initiatives, producing reports for key stakeholders, when requested.

· Measure and assess all L&D programmes and courses for their effectiveness and business relevance and continually seek ways to improve learning solutions.

· As and when required, provide support to the L&D Co-ordinator with the administration of training courses, including diary management and database management.

What we are looking for:

· Learning & Development qualification or experience of working within a Learning & Development environment.

· Demonstrable experience in delivery and facilitating a wide range of learning and development initiatives at all levels.

· Experience of developing and implementing training programmes/workshops (including designing a variety of learning materials).

· Experience of delivering in-person and virtual training to a variety of stakeholders with different learning styles and levels of understanding.

· Experience of working with internal and external customers, stakeholders and suppliers.

· Excellent communicator, with an ability to build relationships and inspire confidence and respect at all levels.  Demonstrates strong negotiation, influencing and decision-making skills.

· Excellent listening skills, receptive to feedback and demonstrates flexibility, curiosity and an ability to learn.

· Excellent planning and organisational skills, with an ability to work to deadlines and reprioritise work in accordance with the organisational needs.

· Strong team player who can work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

· Credible, authentic and confident presenter and facilitator, with an ability to deliver engaging learning at all levels and adapt style to suit the audience.

· Demonstrates a proactive and pragmatic approach and identifies ways to deliver creative and innovative solutions.

· Strong attention to detail with an ability to remain calm under pressure.

· Strong ethical standards and a high level of personal integrity.

· Excellent IT skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

· Flexibility and willingness to travel to deliver training on site as well as offsite when required.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.
