The Involvement & Engagement Officer will play a crucial role in delivering the new patient and public involvement and engagement strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK. The role forms part of the Involvement & Engagement team, which sits in the Information and Involvement (I&I) department.
The team acts as a focal point for patient and public involvement at the charity, working to ensure that people with lived experience shape and inform projects and activity across ARUK. You will help to manage a key group of lived experience involvement volunteers, facilitate and deliver involvement activity and set the standards and processes for meaningful involvement.
The team also delivers public engagement initiatives, with the aim of making dementia research accessible and inspiring to the public through events and participatory projects and supporting researchers to deliver engagement. The team also supports fundraising colleagues and activities through helping to embed and enhance ways to engage supporters with dementia research.
The team forms part of the busy Policy, Communications & Involvement directorate and works closely with colleagues both within the directorate and across the charity. The I&I department’s mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager, implement ARUK’s public involvement and engagement strategy.
· Facilitate, plan and deliver the work of the Lived Experience Involvement Group, including liaising with members and providing dementia specific assistance, arranging logistics for meetings, responding to queries, liaising with internal stakeholders.
· Support the recruitment of new lived experience representatives, with a focus on improving representation from people with a dementia diagnosis and those from underserved communities.
· Responsibility to ensure records relating to involvement work are kept up to date in line with ARUK policies and procedures.
· Helping to develop and deliver training on engagement and involvement for the Group, colleagues and the research community, working with the Research Involvement Manager.
· Work closely with the Policy team, sharing knowledge and insights and supporting their work to involve people with lived experience. Collaborate on special projects relating to involvement as appropriate.
· Act as a champion for public involvement across ARUK, effectively communicating the importance of involvement in the charity’s work and supporting colleagues to effectively incorporate involvement into key projects and initiatives.
· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager to produce ongoing evaluation of the involvement and engagement programme, proactively coming up with suggestions for new initiatives and continuous improvement of the programme.
· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager, deliver Inspire Fund, our public engagement grant scheme. Manage the application and post-award processes, maintain engagement with grant holders and support them in the delivery of their projects.
· Seek opportunities for public facing activity, that engage people with the topic of dementia and the importance of research, in line with ARUK’s strategic goals.
· Support colleagues to effectively engage with their audiences, creating and maintaining compelling activities and resources that bring dementia research to life.
· Keep up to date with patient and public engagement and involvement sectors to identify emerging knowledge and best practice that might benefit ARUK’s work. Take part in groups that support professional development around involvement and engagement.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

The purpose of your role
We’re looking for a Recruitment Coordinator to join our award-winning team to support delivery of our recruitment process to enable us to achieve our ambitious mission.
You will provide comprehensive administrative, candidate and project support to aid the day-to-day delivery of the Police Now Recruitment team. We’re responsible for recruiting and supporting a large pipeline of talented and diverse individuals across our three core programmes so it’s a fast-paced and varied role that involves working closely with candidates as well as our team.
You will be dedicated to delivering an excellent candidate experience throughout our recruitment and onboarding process, as well as being the main point of contact for candidate queries via email, live chat and phone. You will be involved in a range of projects throughout the recruitment yearly cycle all focused on supporting candidates such as application screening and conducting compliance referencing and qualification checks for our offer holders. You’ll also be one of the core team members responsible for welcoming candidates to our assessment centres and facilitating the session to ensure it runs smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Candidate experience will be at the heart of all you do, and you will support the team with their work with candidates throughout the application journey. This will include screening candidate applications, contacting candidates for further information, and providing support throughout each stage of the process where required such as pre-assessment centre communication.
- You will be part of a team of Coordinators who maintain oversight of our busy inboxes and online live chat to respond to candidate queries. Together you will also facilitate assessment centres and support with running onboarding and attraction events. This will include organisation of events, managing booking candidates, preparing materials, delivering presentations and welcoming and being one of the main points of contact for attendees on the day, whether online or in person.
- Deliver key projects throughout the recruitment yearly cycle, including supporting with candidate onboarding checks, such as referencing and degree certificate verification, as well as monitoring progress through pre-employment checks and pre-academy learning.
- Monitoring and updating our applicant tracking system, preparing and sending candidate communications, updating templates, spotting trends and troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Processing and dealing with invoices from external suppliers, ensuring that these are processed in accordance with organisational finance policies.
- Evaluating the success and impact of projects and making recommendations for future improvements.
- Working closely with the Recruitment Management team to identify areas of need and focus for that week, splitting your time across multiple teams/people as needed.
- Ad hoc duties to support our busy team including managing and updating team resources and materials.
Key Requirements
- Motivation and passion for the Police Now mission, values, and working within the policing sector.
- Proven administrative experience, ideally in similar high-volume candidate-driven environment and/or supporting a large team.
- A confident communicator who puts candidate experience first and is comfortable delivering presentations to small groups with the ability to build relationships virtually.
- Proficient IT skills, specifically including confidence with Microsoft Excel, as well as general computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and ability to develop knowledge and proficiency of Police Now’s applicant tracking and candidate management systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of the graduate recruitment sector. Experience in any recruitment environment, including facilitating elements of the recruitment and/or onboarding process would be advantageous.

Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity. Founded in 2016, we work with primary schools, secondary schools and sixth form colleges across the UK to improve the lives of LGBT+ young people. To do that, we run three programmes:

We are currently recruiting for a F2F Fundraising Performance Coach. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of excellent fundraising results and fundraising compliance standards and specifically the delivery of performance improvements in our F2F fundraisers through coaching, training, and continuous development. The role will also involve direct fundraising where you will be expected to meet a personal target.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for coaching the performance of multiple teams in the region that will consist of lone workers, pairs of fundraisers to bigger teams as the income plan increases.
- Responsible for an individual fundraising target and set of KPI’s that include inspiring people to become long-term monthly donors, generating income through contactless one-off donations and acquiring newsletter prospecting sign ups in a range of locations including residential door-to-door, town and city centres, private venues, and events and more commonly on our private land, the canal and river Towpaths.
- Acting as a hands-on fundraiser who leads by example, delivering fundraising income through signing up Friends and generating contactless income whilst demonstrating the Canal & River Trust ‘s values and behaviours.
- Generating income and being present on-site to visit fundraising teams, fundraise with them, cover sickness absence, coach performance, provide training & development of fundraisers, reinforce our culture of health & safety, embed compliance standards.
- Provide phone coaching and in-person coaching of fundraisers to support meeting their targets and KPI’s and in individual cases working with fundraisers to improve their results from their current level of performance to the required standard by equipping them with the technical and psychological training to work to their very best.
- Identify training requirements and deliver on and off field training and coaching to grow income.

- Carrying out Daily Compliance training, Charity conversation, case for support and storytelling practice and Health and Safety training sessions as per directed by the Regional F2F Fundraising Manager.
- Manages feedback and complaints in a professional manner and follows the complaints process and communicates details to Regional F2F Fundraising Manager so it can be addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Driver’s License is essential (requirement for Business insurance)
- Performance management and coaching qualifications are desirable.

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of excellent fundraising results and fundraising compliance standards and specifically the delivery of performance improvements in our F2F fundraisers through coaching, training, and continuous development. The role will also involve direct fundraising where you will be expected to meet a personal target.
You will work across the Aire & Calder Navigation and Calder & Hebble Navigation, including iconic locations such as Salterhebble and Stanley Ferry, the Wakefield Branch of the Aire & Calder Navigation, as well as a reservoir at Southfield, Goole.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for coaching the performance of multiple teams in the region that will consist of lone workers, pairs of fundraisers to bigger teams as the income plan increases.
- Responsible for an individual fundraising target and set of KPI’s that include inspiring people to become long-term monthly donors, generating income through contactless one-off donations and acquiring newsletter prospecting sign ups in a range of locations including residential door-to-door, town and city centres, private venues, and events and more commonly on our private land, the canal and river Towpaths.
- Acting as a hands-on fundraiser who leads by example, delivering fundraising income through signing up Friends and generating contactless income whilst demonstrating the Canal & River Trust ‘s values and behaviours.

The Community Engagement Department enables our student community leaders to gain the knowledge, skills and connections for themselves and their student communities to thrive.

- Lead the operational planning and delivery of our student-facing training programmes, including training our student group leaders, our elected sabbatical officers and our academic representatives, among others

About the Investment team
The Investment team is responsible for selecting portfolio partners, managing our investments and supporting our portfolio partners to improve and scale their impact.
The Investment team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.
The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.
The team is led by a Portfolio Director who sits on the Senior Management Team. The Portfolio Director has 5 direct reports: a Deputy Portfolio Director, three Sector Leads (who lead our work in school engagement, school attainment and employment sectors) and an Impact Lead. Sector Leads line manage 6 Investment Directors. Investment Directors line manage Investment Managers (currently 5). Investment Directors and Investment Managers tend to primarily focus on a sector but might have mixed portfolios, depending on need, experience and interest.

Job description – Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA)
The Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA) is essential to advancing Impetus's mission through providing a clear picture of both the impact of our portfolio partners and the effectiveness of Impetus's support. In so doing, it ensures that strong data collection, rigorous analysis, and actionable insights are at the heart of Impetus’s efforts.
This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented team player passionate about driving social impact. Collaborating closely with the Investment Director - Impact Lead, the SIPA will manage end-to-end data processes, from collection through to analysis and reporting, ensuring data remains accessible and actionable. This role then requires strong communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams and portfolio partners, presenting insights clearly to enable impactful, data-informed decisions.
The SIPA will additionally develop performance management tools, such as those within Salesforce, and champion organisation-wide data accessibility.

The Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA) role at Impetus is integral to enabling us to do the same:
- To understand how our portfolio partners are performing: the impact they are having, the growth they are achieving and the progress they are making on EDI commitments.
- To understand how we are performing: how effective our support for portfolio partners is and the impact we’re having on them.
- To use insights from this information to enable our team to continually improve our support to our portfolio partners to help them become stronger, better and bigger; to reduce the gap between young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and their better-off peers in school attainment, access to university and finding and keeping a job.
Key responsibilities
1. Data collection and management
- Map annual performance reporting calendar for all relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and develop templates and processes for i) collecting internal and external data and ii) generating key performance reports.
- Manage and develop performance databases and knowledge, ensuring i) they meet the needs of different users within Impetus, ii) compliance with GDPR and data security.
- Lead the collection of tri-annual performance and annual survey data from portfolio partners, Impetus teams and other stakeholders, including significant liaison with Investment Directors.
- Lead and document processes for auditing data quality and understanding nuances in data (e.g. the different outcomes our portfolio partners target, and the different groups of young people they work with).
2. Performance reporting, analysis, and presentation
- Support definition of KPIs and measurement scales where relevant.
- Produce regular performance reports vs. KPIs for key stakeholders: Investment Team, all staff, Investment Committee, SMT, Board, and Impetus’ donors and co-investors.
- In collaboration with the Investment Director, run our tri-annual ‘portfolio review’ process, incl. data collection from portfolio partners, analyses on performance data, pulling-out key insights and risks, agenda-setting, session-planning, facilitation and follow-up.
- On an annual basis run more detailed and comprehensive analyses on performance data, including portfolio partner outcomes vs. benchmarks, to inform the focus of our annual review. The Annual Review aims to give a full view of our impact and value for money in the year and seeks to improve our programme of capacity-building support.
- Produce clear and insightful summary presentations in PowerPoint, for a range of audiences.
- Design and develop tools to help make information more accessible for a range of stakeholders, including external comms.
- Present and communicate data (incl. in ad-hoc reports) to help facilitate discussions, enhance our work, and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Document and track progress against agreed actions from Annual Review and Portfolio Reviews, including for strategic planning and projects; implementing relevant actions where appropriate.
3. Leading on key organisational and ad hoc data/performance projects to deepen understanding of Impetus’ and our portfolio partners’ performance and impact
- Support in the development and ongoing review of Investment team and Impetus-wide impact strategy, plus the scoping and planning of projects within this.
- Play a leading role in ongoing efforts to benchmark portfolio partner outcomes and trace the impact of Impetus’ work on charity performance, including with a value for money lens.
- Lead efforts to transfer all portfolio partner performance data and collection onto Salesforce, including advising the Digital team, wireframing, setting up accessible dashboards and supporting change management efforts.
- Lead ad hoc data/performance projects, such as: i) cross-portfolio analyses of portfolio partner income, costs, staffing and EDI metrics, and ii) supporting portfolio partners to upskill data/ impact management capabilities.
- Work closely with Impetus’ Communications team to support efforts to ensure all staff have a strong understanding of our impact, and that of our portfolio partners, and are confident in speaking to it in their respective work (e.g. Philanthropy in pitching, Public Affairs in comms. on our impact/ use in policy work).
- Be Impetus’ key point of contact for data and impact, providing support, advice and training on data management and analysis for the wider Impetus team where needed, including contributing to digital transformation efforts.
The SIPA may also be asked to support on other workstreams on an ad-hoc basis.
