About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced HR generalist to join a leading international anti-slavery organisation. You will be leading in a London-based HR and Operations team of four staff with high levels of autonomy and the ability to make a visible difference. You will be responsible for designing and delivering an effective HR strategy for the global organisation, as well as overseeing the London-based operations team. The role will report to the Managing Director, Finance and Administration and sit on the Wider Management Team (WMT) of the organisation.

This role will suit candidates with previous generalist HR experience, particularly those with experience of roles in international SME organisations or charities. Responsibilities

Lead the Global HR Function

· Lead on HR strategy and delivery across the global organisation – currently comprising approximately 85 staff in 10 countries

· Provide high quality and timely employee relations and change management advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team

· Manage renumeration and benefits globally, ensuring the Freedom Fund’s continuing ability to attract and retain a high performing team

· Oversee relationships with several Employers of Record and external payroll providers globally

· Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures and guidelines and staff handbooks globally

· Oversee all recruitment ensuring fair, safe and compliant recruitment practices and supporting workforce planning globally

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) is looking for a proactive and organised HR Administrator to join our Human Resources and Organisational Development team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a HR professional to support an experienced team and deliver a high-quality, generalist HR service to CSP employees.

You will be the first point of contact for staff with regards to a wide range of HR issues, ensuring that all queries are dealt with promptly or escalated where appropriate.  About The Felix Project

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.  

The Felix Project is a dynamic, ambitious charity working to make London a city where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.  

We rescue high quality, fresh and nutritious food that cannot be sold from nearly 500 suppliers including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants and delis. We sort and deliver this food to charities, schools and community projects supporting London’s most vulnerable people. 

This year we expect to rescue 13,000 tonnes of food to redistribute to more than 1,000 London frontline charities and primary schools in every borough of London. That’s enough food to make more than 30 million meals. 

The Felix Project is growing fast in response to huge demand. Set up in 2016, we now have around 160 staff working alongside 8,500 volunteers. We have four main operating depots spread across London - in Deptford, Enfield, Park Royal and Poplar. We’re committed to ensuring our different teams work hand-in-hand, so our main hot-desking spaces are built into these depots. 

Alongside our large-scale, depot-based operations we have green ‘point-to-point' food redistribution projects in central London and Canary Wharf. In Poplar, we operate a commercial Kitchen which uses surplus food to cater for up to 5,000 individual meals per day. 
 

Purpose of the Job 
The Recruitment and HR Operations Manager will report direct to the Head of People and lead the end-to-end recruitment and HR operations for our organisation. This role combines the strategic elements of recruitment with operational HR responsibilities, including payroll oversight, HR systems management, and occasionally employee relations support. This role will be line managing the People Officer and People Administrator, who will provide support on the below functions. 

Duties and Accountabilities

Recruitment

• Ensure that end-to-end recruitment is completed for roles across all levels of the organisation; including creating recruitment campaigns and plans
• Overseeing job board accounts
• Develop and execute innovative talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent.
• Partner with department managers to understand their hiring needs and provide guidance throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
• Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies as needed to support hiring goals.

HR Operations

• Oversee HR operations to ensure efficient and compliant HR processes, including payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee record maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and internal policies.
• Drive improvements in HR processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience.

Payroll Management

• Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payroll distribution.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Maintain accurate HR employee files and ensure secure storage of all employee documents. Remove HR data no longer required in line with our storage process as directed by the HR Manager.
• Manage the new starters administration process (right to work checks, reference requests, offer letters and contract of employments, DBS checks and other related tasks linked to this process).
• Organise and track recruitment requests when hiring employees, including proof reading Job Descriptions, directing new job roles to the HR manager to evaluate, and salary benchmark when required.
• Draft HR related letters including contracts, change to salary, promotions, and other general HR letters with final approval by HR Manager.
• Manage sickness records including tracking sickness absence, including the return of self-certification forms, return to work interviews, actions required, and any wellbeing meeting notes received back from each department.
• Conduct exit interviews and record data gathered, providing information to the HR Manager.
• Co-ordinate and process probationary and annual reviews.
• Track change requests and complete payroll administration – Final check and approval by the HR Manager.
• Assist the HR Manager with both short term and long-term HR projects, taking an active involvement in projects and meetings as required, including initial set-up of HR system.
• Provide reports as required by the HR Manager or Director of Finance & Operations.

MLC Partners are working with a leading health advocacy charity to recruit their new HR Officer. The position joins an organisation who are working with vulnerable people across the UK, giving them both support and advice to drive behaviour change in society. As part of a close-knit HR team supporting a head count of 50, the role will carry out generalist HR work across the charity and lead on the administration of the HR system.

HR Officer

We are looking for a HR Officer to join the team supporting the HR function, in this part-time, hybrid working role.

This role could also be full-time incorporating the operations support function, which at the moment is as separate standalone part-time role.

The Role

As HR Officer you will provide support and specialist HR knowledge to all of the operational functions. This includes supporting the Finance Manager and other members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on the delivery of various projects, maintaining employee records, and advising on compliance with UK Employment and Health and Safety Laws.

Grief Encounter is a mid-sized national bereavement charity. Joining us as our HR Advisor will give you the opportunity to work as a true HR generalist, with a range of duties from recruitment and on-boarding to running internal training for our staff team and co-ordinating our volunteers.

This is a busy role, reporting to the Head of HR.  We are looking for someone with HR experience, who is CIPD qualified, attentive to detail and who can work well with a minimum of supervision. Ideally, you will also be someone who is willing to get involved in all aspects of our work:  That could mean standing in a wet park shouting encouragement to our sponsored runners or helping organise an office social event.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

General: 

• Provides advice and guidance in response to internal and external HR related enquiries or requests for help/information.
• Maintains and updates HR database (including records of sensitive data) in accordance with GDPR principles. Produces statistical reports on key HR metrics, as required for monitoring purposes. (Headcount, turnover, diversity, absence etc).
• Supports the Head of HR in updating staff policies in line with changes in employment law and drafts guidance notes for approval.  Ensures agreed policies, procedures and guidance notes are appropriately shared within the Charity.
• With guidance from the Head of HR, supports managers handling performance improvement, grievance and disciplinary issues, including collating information and conducting investigations as required. 
• Takes notes at meeting as required. (HR Forum, Staff Consultation Group, Disciplinary Hearings, Grievance and Performance meetings).
• Assists with ongoing review of terms and conditions, benefits etc.  researching and making suggestions for improvements  within available budget.
• Manages the HR Admin inbox (for job applications, general queries, requests and possible complaints).  Alerts Head of HR to any issues or complaints.
• Collates invoices and receipts etc. in relation to HR expenses, as required, to ensure timely payment by Finance team.
• Participates in ad-hoc HR projects.

Recruitment:

• Advises hiring managers on recruitment processes and best practice.  Sources candidates, assists in shortlisting and responds to candidates as required.  Produces offer letters and contracts for successful applicants.

Employment Checks:

• Manages DBS clearance process and other ‘right to work’ checks for new and existing staff, volunteers and contractors, including insurance and qualification checks.  Manages referencing process.

Volunteers:

• Manages the recruitment of volunteers and maintains the volunteering database.  Assists with the allocation of volunteers to appropriate activities.  Generates reports on volunteer numbers and activities for senior management and for funding bids.

On-boarding:

• Prior to start date, coordinates with the Charity’s external IT support company to ensure all new hires will have appropriate equipment and file access when they commence work. (Employees, and freelance contractors).
• Organises induction programme for first two weeks of employment including setting up meetings with key staff (CEO, Departmental Directors etc.), conducting office orientation and familiarising staff member with health and safety, payroll and HR policies and proceudures etc. including mandatory staff training.
• Reviews and updates on-boarding processes as needed.

Training:

• Manages the Charity’s Educare system and reports on mandatory training compliance across the Charity.
• Designs training sessions/briefings on HR policies and procedures for approval by Head of HR.  Organises and runs sessions for staff, including ‘Lunch and Learn’ and drop in advice sessions.
•  Assists Departmental Directors with arrangements for external training, as requested.

Responsibilities and duties

• upkeep of the HR Information System, CharlieHR; and

• being the first point of contact for general enquiries; 
• managing the team calendar; 
• supporting the external IT services contractor;
• providing research and administrative support to the COO;
• ensuring the efficient management of CRM information, team and project documents and templates; and
• minuting incubated ventures’ project board meetings as needed.

Ensure that the Purposeful Ventures team has a pleasant and productive working environment by:

• supporting the operations team to make the Purposeful Ventures office a pleasant, productive, inspiring environment for staff and contractors to work and collaborate;
• keeping the Purposeful Ventures office well stocked with agreed supplies;

• monitoring office IT equipment, ensuring items are working well and repaired swiftly and that staff have access to the facilities they need.

Contribute to the smooth running of our finance processes, providing support to finance staff including mailbox monitoring and expenses submissions.
