About the job role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Education Centre Assistant in our Training, Education and Development team at St Joseph’s Hospice.
We are looking for someone who has experience in administration and working in a customer service-focused busy environment.
The Training, Education and Development (TED) Team has been established to promote and deliver high-quality evidenced-based education to external stakeholders and internally to Hospice staff, which will help transform the care of people in the communities we serve and beyond. The TED Education Centre staff provide essential support to the rest of the TED Team and are integral to the smooth running and day-to-day operation of the Education Centre and TED service. They work as a team to cover core duties at all times and essential role specific duties during planned and unplanned absences. The team is co-ordinated on a day-to-day basis by the Centre Manager.
About you
You will need:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of using Microsoft Office
- Experience of working as part of a team and making day-to-day unsupervised decisions
- Experience of working in a customer services environment.

We are now seeking an experienced, solution-focussed Head of Finance and IT to join our Senior Management Team. This role oversees the financial operations and drives the development of our integrated IT strategy, ensuring first-class financial and IT service across the organisation.
In this role you will ensure timely and accurate management and financial reporting across the organisation, fostering a culture of financial accountability and ensuring that all stakeholders have a sense of co-ownership of this; working closely with the senior management team you will support grant applications to ensure that the terms and conditions of these grants are understood and complied with. You will also manage our cloud-based IT services to support the delivery of our strategic plan, ensuring best value IT across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CIPFA) with a solid understanding of IT systems management. They will have proven experience in both financial and IT leadership roles, working closely with senior managers and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders at senior levels. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to present complex financial data to diverse audiences to ensure the organisation's financial sustainability. Experience in the charity sector and in developing financial strategy is essential for this role.

We are looking for an Office Manager to organize and coordinate administration duties and office procedures. The Office Manager will be responsible for providing receptionist duties and be the Charity’s first point of contact by telephone and for in person visitors, they will respond to enquiries received by post, telephone, or email, provide office and facilities management support to the Charity staff team, and provide executive assistance and diary management to the Chief Executive. The role is to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organisational effectiveness, communication, and safety.

We are looking for an individual with experience of office management and administration including diary management; excellent organizational skills with experience of managing immediate and long-term deadlines, processing invoices, computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, and Outlook), able to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative and work calmly under time pressure managing day-today operation.
