About the Role

As Team Leader, you will assist the Manager in the running of a 16+ semi-independent supported accommodation service, supporting the delivery of high quality transition services for young people that promote their independence and increase their life skills.

Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult hospices in the UK, providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, South West London and Middlesex. 

The Night Response Team (NR) provides specialist on call palliative nursing care between the hours of 22.00 and 08.00, 7 days a week for palliative care patients known to Princess Alice Hospice.

The Team also provides nursing care and assistance to palliative and general patients who are referred from the district nursing service, the OOH’s service (111), local ambulance services SECAMB and LAS, Mole Valley Telecare and Tunstall Community Alarm services. This includes palliative patients who are not known to PAH. Night Response visit patients in their own homes as well as in care and residential homes.

A Night Response shift will be covered by two members of staff per night, usually one RN and an SHCA, occasionally two RN’s.

We are based in an office on the in-patient unit at the Hospice. We receive calls, provide information, support and advice to patients, families, and other health care professionals, whilst visiting patients as required throughout the night.

The Night Response Service brings the skills and expertise of our highly trained and dedicated specialist team directly into the patients homes. This allows patients, their families and carers access to the vital support they need at home, when time matters most, providing the opportunity for patients to remain at home and reducing the need for hospital admissions.  

 About the role: 

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, dynamic and versatile Staff Nurse with excellent interpersonal, communication and telephone triage skills, to join our Night Response Team.

Experience in caring for patients who are terminally ill is essential. You will need to be able to work autonomously and have an excellent understanding of care provision in the community and be involved in auditing the service provided. 

You will need a full driving license with a maximum of 6 points for use of the hospice vehicle (automatic)

Advocacy Caseworker (full-time)

You’ll be assigned a case-load of clients who you will advocate for in different kinds of support they need.

The Centre is open between 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday. Your normal working hours will be 36 hours per week i.e. 5 days per week.

You’ll work with:

• people living with mental or physical health conditions or impairments
• migrants and refugees
• older adults
• people experiencing digital exclusion

You will keep strict professional boundaries with the client, whilst sympathising with what the client has experienced in their life.

The role

• Carry out needs assessments and draw up brief plans for each client to enable them to access services that will improve their wellbeing.

• Support clients in actioning these plans - particularly in accessing advice or services, working alongside MGWT colleagues to provide further support, and ensuring successful referral from partner organisations where relevant.

• Facilitate better access to targeted support services through advocacy - and when necessary, house calls to isolated clients.

• Ensure client support provided is in line with MGWT policies and procedures -in particular, MGWT Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.

Person specification

• An understanding of the need to work in an accessible and diverse way when working with those that experience barriers  in accessing support and services

• A good understanding of where and why these barriers exist, and how we should design our services to ensure they meet the needs and requests of our communities. Knowledge of a second language would be an advantage.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good working relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders, and ability to work with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience.

• Ability to work independently using own initiative whilst remaining accountable to line management.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Café Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of The Shack Café, a busy student-facing outlet at KCLSU. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for hospitality and team leadership, committed to delivering excellent service and creating a vibrant, welcoming space for students, staff and visitors.

The postholder will lead a team of student shift leaders and staff, ensuring smooth daily operations, high standards of cleanliness, and exceptional customer service. You'll take a hands-on approach, often setting an example on the floor while supervising your team effectively. Key duties include managing financial processes such as accurate till operation, invoice processing, and stock control. You will strive to minimise wastage and losses through regular audits and clear procedures, maintaining accurate records of all transactions and stock movements.

You will also lead on staffing—recruiting, training, and supervising your team of around 12 student staff members. Responsibilities include creating rotas, processing payroll, and managing performance through regular feedback and support, while fostering a positive and productive team culture.

The Café Supervisor will work closely with the Commercial Manager – Strand to develop exciting product offerings and promotions. With support from the marketing team, you'll ensure effective merchandising and campaigns that increase sales and engage the student community. Strong relationships with students, colleagues, and suppliers are vital.

You will also manage catering bookings and ensure services meet high standards, from enquiry to delivery. Compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and equipment maintenance is essential. Issues must be reported promptly, maintain a safe environment, and ensure all staff follow uniform and cleaning protocols.

We have been lucky enough to secure funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for our wilder future for Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust Project. This is to undertake a programme of digital and cultural transformation at the Trust, creating a more efficient and effective organisation.

You’ll be part of the Trust’s Development Directorate, leading the development and delivery of the Trust’s volunteering transformation plans with the aim to improve collaboration and efficiency across the Trust.

About the role

This is a new role funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund that will enable the transformation of how the Trust supports volunteering by delivering a programme of volunteer and staff engagement and training, and leading the set up and migration to a new cloud-based volunteer management system. The role will also lead on volunteer development with external partners as part of the project.

The postholder will require the ability to work collaboratively and to implement an agreed project plan to fixed milestones and is expected to support and embrace a positive team culture, and to uphold the Trust’s values and expected behaviours at all times. They should act as a positive role model for staff, volunteers and external stakeholders through a professional, collaborative and engaging approach.

About the role

As an Experienced Practitioner, you will provide direct support and care for our young people who have complex emotional and mental health difficulties (such as trauma and loss) and can struggle to regulate their emotions. Working within a therapeutic framework, you will develop a direct programme of work aimed at developing authentic relationships with our young people (aged 16 – 24 years old), you will also have responsibility for making sure our residents are safe, providing support, liaison with other professionals and completion of support documents to record information.

Throughout the Waking Night shift, you will have the additional support of an on-call manager should there be any emergencies. Further to this, you will be involved in monthly team meetings and receive monthly supervision.
