We are recruiting a Policy and Campaigns Manager to take forward our work on household debt. This role plays a key part in our campaign to end the UK’s household debt crisis.
Over ten million people in the UK are now ‘overindebted’, meaning they are behind on bills or are finding their debt repayments a heavy financial burden. The crisis has been growing over the last decade but has increased dramatically because of the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis. More and more people are now borrowing to cover bills and essentials.
Our campaign combines community organising with national level campaigning and advocacy work to bring the voices of those most affected by the debt crisis to the fore in debates on policy solutions. You will use your policy and campaigning expertise to help ensure the people most impacted by problem household debt have a say in influencing the policies that affect them. You will work on issues such as the growth in council tax debt and bailiff use, the huge build up in energy debt as a result of the cost of living crisis and making insolvency policy and practice fairer and more accessible so more people can get out of debt.
You will be a key member of our household debt project team, working alongside the Head of Campaigns, Head of Policy and Advocacy, Digital Campaigner and Lead Organiser.
We are looking for someone with great policy analysis and advocacy skills, a strong campaigning mindset, and a passion for social justice. We are not expecting you to already be an expert in all aspects of the role or in household debt policy but are looking for someone with the potential to develop quickly. Crucially, you will also need to appreciate why taking a community organising approach and building the power of people affected by debt is important, though you do not need to have experience in community organising.
This role will require some evening and weekend working, though this will be infrequent.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Park Management Team and support the general running and maintenance of the Trust's estate and be responsible for delivering all tree related works - whether for safety reasons, as part of our Woodland Management Plan, or in response to arboricultural diseases. This is very much a practical role, with the post holder directly involved in all aspects of forestry operations on the ground, as well as planning for and dealing with contractors on site.

- Leading and coordinating arboricultural operations, tree surveys and tree related safety inspections.
- Carrying out and supervising tree works internally as well as those conducted by the Trust's specialist external tree contractors.

Contract

Key Responsibilities
Providing support to the First Give team, primarily the SLT
- To be the first point of contact for enquiries to First Give by email and telephone
- Provide administrative support for First Gives Board of Trustees and SLT, including scheduling meetings and meeting minutes
- Supporting with communications to stakeholders e.g. schools, facilitators or funders as needed
- Managing First Gives relationship with external contractors such as printers and Salesforce support
Overseeing and managing financial administration
- Setting up and tracking payments to contractors and charities in our banking system ensuring timely completion
- Processing, reviewing and identifying outstanding invoices (including working closely with school finance departments to ensure timely payment of school contributions).
- Administering expenses and pre-paid card system, ensuring expenses are accurately recorded each month
- Provide regular monthly tracking reports on payments to the Director
Administering First Give’s charity grants
- Carrying out due diligence for winning charities to ensure comply with First Give donation rules
- Liaising with winning charities to arrange payment and ensuring accurate records of payments processed
- Running monthly reports on payments for the Director
Providing support to the Programmes team
- Supporting the Programmes team with recruitment of judges for school finals
- Managing First Give’s programme resources stock, ensuring we have enough programme documents and equipment to resource the programme

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Yorkshire Programme Manager has responsibility for the development and delivery of our community programmes in West Yorkshire, with a particular focus on Batley, Dewsbury and Heckmondwike.
At present, this is focussed on leading our Bridging & Belonging project, which aims to co-produce a vision for the future of Batley, Dewsbury and Heckmondwike. We expect that the insight that we produce from this project will determine the direction of our community programmes in West Yorkshire over the coming years.
Working with the project’s Community Group, you’ll support them to deliver a series of community events that capture the issues, needs and skills of the community and identify the action that the community wants to see.
As the project draws to a conclusion, you’ll play a key role in planning our future work in West Yorkshire, in conjunction with the Head of Community Programmes, and will provide information and support for grant applications for this future work.
ABOUT THE BRIDGING & BELONGING PROJECT
We know from our work in West Yorkshire that community members want to connect with each other, influence change, and use their ideas and skills to benefit the community. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, this project aims to facilitate this through a series of community events and activities in Batley, Dewsbury and Heckmondwike. These events will explore the themes of community, place and belonging, and will help us create a shared vision for the future of the area.
This project has already been established, so you’ll start with an in-depth project plan in place and a small but engaged Community Group made up of people from across Batley, Dewsbury, Heckmondwike and surrounding areas. With them we have started planning for the first three community events. You’ll also get support in running this project from a Project Officer and our Head of Community Programmes.
Through your leadership of this project over the next 12 months, we will:

Grow the Community Group to around 15 people

Support the group to plan and deliver a series of community events across Batley, Dewsbury and Heckmondwike. These events will be for anyone with a connection to the area to connect, listen, and share stories on the themes of community, place and belonging.

Support the group by organising and facilitating regular meetings, identifying any skills needs they have, and sourcing / providing training where relevant.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone who is motivated and positive about making change happen in the area. You need to be happy to work as part of a remote team, but also have the confidence and ability to work independently and on your own initiative.
You’ll have a deep understanding of, and experience of engaging with, communities in West Yorkshire, particularly Batley, Dewsbury and Heckmondwike. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, and experience of facilitating group meetings and workshops in creative and engaging ways. This project has already started, so you’ll also need an ability to digest information and build relationships quickly.
You’ll have strong project management skills, and ideally experience planning and delivering events. Experience working with Steering Groups and reporting to funders will also be helpful.

The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a Digital Enabler. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. The Digital Enabler will facilitate the effective participation by all members in the life of the Church in the North West England District by supporting stakeholders at all levels to facilitate digital evangelism and building and maintaining the District’s online presence.

NWED came to being in September 2024 following the joining together of a number of Methodist Districts. We cover the geographical area of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and parts of Cheshire and Derbyshire. Within this are inner city, industrial, post-industrial, suburban, and rural areas – no two towns are the same.
The District embraces a rich breadth and variety of theological perspectives and worship styles. A range of fresh expressions of Church (messy church, café church, arts-based projects, digital spaces etc.) are nurtured without neglecting the other, more traditional, expressions and all are equally valued.
We exist primarily to advance the mission of the Methodist Church in our District by supporting churches and circuits (a circuit is a group of churches served by a team, including one or more ministers). The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support young people when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for young people, every step of the way.
This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for young people who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services within the Essex area.
We wish to recruit 2 Substance Misuse Practitioners to join our established Essex Young Peoples Drug and Alcohol Team (EYPDAS) supporting young people aged 8-25 who are using or misusing substances.
You will provide direct therapeutic support to vulnerable young people, vulnerable young adults and families who are affected by substance use.
Support offered will include one to one face to face interventions, targeted group work & online support across the County. You may also facilitate training around substances for statutory and voluntary agencies across the County.
The young people will require a skilled practitioner who is experienced in working with hard to reach, vulnerable young people at risk and using trauma informed therapeutic approaches. You should have experience of facilitating groups with knowledge of the issues and legislation affecting young people who are using or misusing substances.
What we are looking for...
-You will have substantial experience in working with vulnerable young people either in a paid or unpaid capacity. To be able to evidence your ability to build positive relationships with groups of young people to raise awareness about substance use and the associated risks and impact.
-You will have experience of carrying out individual and group work interventions with young people & adults.
-You will have experience in using Microsoft Office Applications and other relevant data systems.
-You can demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative as well as be able to contribute to a multi-agency approach so as to enable effective interventions with young people, including delivering training to a range of professionals.
-You hold a full UK drivers license and have access to you own transport.

We're looking for a creative Visitor Experience and Engagement Officer who can connect people with nature. Working at Minsmere, you'll provide fascinating visitor experiences, drawing people in through new, quality events.
Minsmere is the RSPB’s flagship reserve on the Suffolk coast, giving visitors incredible wildlife spectacles.
You will develop our visitor offer, ensuring high quality experiences. You will be a good communicator, experienced at delivering events and engaging with new audiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Introduce new visitors to the RSPB by working with the Visitor Experience Manager to create a range of new and exciting events. These new events will sit alongside our current programme of events and will enhance our visitor offer and drive footfall.
- Ensure relevant data is captured for all events to enable reporting and evaluation.
- Engage and communicate with diverse audiences, face to face, digitally and via social media.
- Ensure the reserve delivers events to the highest standards resulting in a high-quality visitor experience.
- Support the continued development of a team of volunteers to assist with event delivery.
- Ensure the reserve delivers a high quality, on brand visitor experience.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Computer Literate to include professional use of social media adhering to brand.
- Sound understanding of systems and procedures relevant to a commercial visitor operation.
- Working knowledge of visitor engagement techniques
