We provide a specialist 1:1 service for young women and girls aged 11-25 living, studying or based in close proximity to Barnet and neighbouring boroughs.
Our long term, 18 months support, programme engages young women and girls with direct experiences of relationship abuse, sexual violence, intra-familial abuse, exploitation, and/or where there are significant risk indicators present in the young persons life that may increase their exposure to harm.
Young women and girls are referred through professional, self and peer or familial pathways and will be engaged in weekly or fortnightly support. The service is offered from a space safe for them, including our community spaces, at their home or within their educational setting.
How our service is different from traditional IDVA models:
-
We offer long term support for up to 18 months, enabling you to build trusted and safe relationships that exceed immediate, crisis intervention and also focus on implementing a support package for continued development once a survivor has achieved immediate safety
-
We keep our caseloads low and manageable, supporting no more than 10 young women and girls at any one time. This has been proven to reduce stress and burn out, whilst increasing your capacity to create a targeted and needs-based response for each young person
-
Our interventions are holistic and flexible, ranging from trips and outings, to visits in school, at home or a safe local community space. This approach enables you to have more freedom over how the intervention is shaped and delivered, reducing rigidity and any feelings the relationship is impersonal
-
We offer access to a range of healing opportunities outside of the 1:1 Support, including fortnightly group trips with other young survivors to establish connection and reduce isolation, fortnightly group wellbeing workshops, access to Youth Employment opportunities within our creative education curriculum and opportunities to shape the organisation through our independent Youth Board.

Our shops generate valuable income to support our services, create opportunities for homeless people to learn new skills and contribute to Crisis’ work in the community. They have a unique contemporary visual identity and are dynamic and creative places to work.
Hours: 40 per week, five days over a seven-day rota
Location: Based at Shop from Crisis Ealing Broadway, 5 The Mall, London, W5 2PJ
Contract: Permanent, we are looking for the successful candidate to start in December 2024
About the role
Are you ready to make a difference? Join us at a pivotal moment as we embark on an exciting journey of national expansion. Shop from Crisis is opening a new location right in the heart of Ealing Broadway. This is an opportunity to be part of opening and establishing a brand-new shop, which will sell a mix of homeware, donated goods, and vintage pieces. As part of our dynamic retail team, you won’t just help run a shop – you'll help shape the future of charity retail across your local community.
At Crisis we believe in the power of retail to create real social impact. Our shops are unique, reflecting the individuality of the communities they serve and we’re looking for an Assistant Manager who shares our passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience. You’ll work closely with the Shop Manager to drive sales, building a dynamic volunteer team and overseeing donations to create a welcoming and visually engaging shopping experience. Ensuring that every customer feels the positive energy of our mission to end homelessness.
We’re not just about profit, we’re also about people. In this role your skills and experience will be key in fostering a positive and supportive environment for our team of staff and volunteers. Together we create a space where everyone feels valued, empowered, and inspired to contribute to our mission.
We actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds, particularly those with lived experience of homelessness or from marginalised communities because we know that diversity strengthens us all.
This is a permanent role. You will be primarily based in one shop within London Zones 1-3; location will be agreed at the time of a job offer. You may also be required to travel to other shops within London on a short-term basis.
About you
In this role we’re looking for someone with experience at a supervisory level and above, ideally within retail, who is passionate about the unique impact of charity retail and its role within a circular economy. You’ll need a keen eye for style and a passion for creating a visually exciting shopping experience. Equally important we are looking for someone skilled at managing and motivating teams of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and productive working environment. Your commitment to sustainability will shine as you help to extend the life of donated goods, promoting reuse and responsible shopping. You’re not afraid to be bold in driving sales and impact and you’ll embody our core values while supporting the mission to end homelessness.

We particularly welcome applications from people who have lived experience of homelessness, and people from all marginalised groups, communities, and backgrounds.
