HIV Peer Support Worker

About Trade

Trade Sexual Health (Trade for short) is a small health and wellbeing charity based in Leicester. We currently have seven staff and more than 40 volunteers.

Trade began as a grassroots gay community response to HIV in Leicester in the late 1980s. Throughout the 1990s, Trade worked in creative ways to spread information about sexual health and HIV prevention to gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men in the city (GBMSM).

Trade has been a registered charity since 2000. Over the last 25 years, the core of our work has been focused on improving the sexual health of gay and bisexual men across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. We have always taken a holistic approach to understanding and addressing the range of issues that might impact on gay and bisexual men’s capacity to look after their sexual health. As a result, we started a counselling service – Approach Counselling – to support community members to improve their mental wellbeing. We now draw on this experience to tackle wider health inequalities in relation to sexual health and HIV, and to provide peer support for anyone living with HIV in the areas where we work. For a small charity, Trade has always ‘punched above its weight’ and we have a national profile for the innovative sexual health work we do.

We currently hold contracts to deliver sexual health promotion and HIV prevention outreach in the City of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to LGBTQ+ people, asylum-seekers, and a range of racialised communities that experience significant inequalities in relation to their sexual health.

We have a history of providing peer support to people living with HIV and this is now becoming a growing strand of our work. In addition to the HIV Peer Support contract in Northamptonshire (which this post relates to), we expect to be delivering enhanced HIV peer support across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver first line peer support to people living with HIV, of all genders and backgrounds, in Northamptonshire. The postholder will spend most of their working week embedded within the HIV clinics in Northampton and Kettering. They will ensure that people who have been recently diagnosed, or are struggling with their diagnosis, and those re-engaging with their HIV care feel supported and have the information they need to live well and thrive with HIV.

The postholder will be responsible for:

· Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), bringing their own knowledge and experience to that work.

· Work with a small group of volunteer peer mentors from the clinics to support people living with HIV

· Help recruit new volunteers and ensure that patients needing ongoing peer mentoring are matched to the most suitable volunteer.

· Help people living with HIV to develop self-management strategies, deal with stigma, reduce social isolation and improve their wellbeing.

· Develop a catalogue of services, groups and support in the area where people can be signposted to for further wellbeing support either in addition to or instead of peer mentoring.

· Help people to stay engaged with their HIV treatment and care, improving antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence, and consequently ensuring ongoing viral suppression. 

Job Activities

The post-holder will:

· Normally spend at least one day a week in the HIV clinic at Kettering General Hospital and one day at Northampton General Hospital. Some travel to other sites may be required.

· Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including nursing staff, doctors, clinical psychologists, and pharmacists within the HIV clinics, bringing their own knowledge and experience to that work.

· Triage new patients requiring peer support to understand what specific issues they are facing and the support they need.

· Work with a small group of volunteer peer mentors from the clinics to support people living with HIV. The volunteer peer mentors will be trained and managed by our partner organisation, Northamptonshire Carers, but the postholder will help recruit new volunteers in clinic, ensure that patients needing ongoing peer mentoring are matched to the most suitable volunteer, and help manage booking appointments between mentors and mentees.

· Help people living with HIV to develop self-management strategies, deal with stigma, reduce social isolation and improve their wellbeing.

· Help people to stay engaged with their HIV treatment and care, improving antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence, and consequently ensuring ongoing viral suppression. 

· Refer/signpost people into specialist services such as mental health services, drug and alcohol services, and services offering advice on housing, benefits and immigration issues.

· Support the eight standards listed in the British HIV Association Standards of Care for people living with HIV.

· Follow the National Standards in HIV Peer Support guidance and its four standards.

· Contribute to the development of innovative ways of delivering HIV peer support appropriate to the local context.

· Keep accurate, confidential and secure records of all peer support referrals and interactions.

· Contribute to the compilation of quarterly monitoring reports about our performance for the Integrated Care Board commissioning team for Northamptonshire.

· Develop and maintain professional working relationships with partners

· Represent Trade in a professional manner at relevant forums and meetings

Accountability / Reports:

The post-holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer

Peer staff supervision for project specific needs.

All positions are monitored by the Trade Board of Trustees and will be responsible to this Committee.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit individuals who have the desire to support looked after children and their foster families. 

As a Fostering Support Worker (Bank) you would work closely with the supervising social workers, local authorities and other professionals to support foster placements.

You would have the ability to manage your availability.

The role will involve:

• Planning and implementing appropriate activities to meet the individual needs of looked after children
• Running support groups, both for looked after children and birth children
• Providing support sessions during the day, evenings or weekends
• Transporting young people to activities and appointments and supervising family contact sessions

About the role

The Children's Society (TCS) has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. As our Senior Supporter Insight Analyst you will play a pivotal role in The Children's Society's transformation into an ever more audience centric and insight led organisation.

This is a pivotal time to join The Children's Society as we are about to embark on the biggest fundraising campaign in the charity's history to ensure we can meet our 2030 goal to overturn the damaging decline in children's wellbeing.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that we our able to track and automate our campaign KPIs and translate that data into robust insight for our stakeholders. We are about to migrate our data to OneLake in Fabric and you will be pivotal in gathering stakeholder requirements for tracking the performance of our major appeal and work together with the supporter insight analyst to generate a suite of live dashboards in PowerBi. You'll work together closely with stakeholders to ensure that dashboards meet requirements and help to increase data literacy by running regular sessions with stakeholders to review and interrogate the data.

Alongside delivering automated reporting you will also be responsible for delivering deep dive analysis on key fundraising activities, campaigns and supporter journeys. This is so we can continually optimise our activities and communications and ensure that we speak to our supporters about the things that they're interested in, in the right media and with the right frequency and evaluate responses so we can deepen our supporter engagement.

You will become an insight partner for colleagues across the Social Impact domain (who focus on fundraising and marketing) and will help to upskill colleagues to become confident data users to help create an insight culture at TCS. You will also look outward and keep the Audience Insight Team abreast of new development in data analytics.

To succeed in this role, you will be a skilled storyteller, with strong communication skills adept at translate data into actionable insight for your stakeholders. You will be highly technical with strong SQL skills and with the curiosity and capability to use the wealth of data TCS has access to, to help us deepen engagement with existing and new supporter audiences. You are creative yet analytically rigorous and have a stellar track record delivering Advanced Analytics. You must be go-getting and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills.

This role sits within our Digital Data and Technology domain and reports into the Head of Supporter Insight. The role has line management responsibility for one role, the Supporter Insight Analyst.

A degree or formal qualifications in marketing or volunteering would be beneficial, but not essential.

This is a part-time home-based role, working 28 hours per week, with regular travel across Bristol and Somerset and down through Devon & Cornwall.  You’ll need to demonstrate a proactive, flexible approach and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to attend key events. SIGNPOSTING AND FOODBANK SESSION COORDINATOR

This new role will provide dedicated 1-2-1 support to people accessing the Foodbank, delivering Foodbank collection sessions and developing our remote and in-person signposting and support for those accessing the Foodbank. Key responsibilities of this role will be:

• Providing operational support to Foodbank collection centres in host venues across Lambeth and Croydon
• Providing and developing wraparound support to those accessing the Foodbank

About the role

We’re looking for an Executive assistant with excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to join our CEO Office.

In this role, the successful applicant will provide proactive and efficient administrative support to the Directors of Young Lives vs Cancer. Their responsibilities will include managing complex diaries, coordinating travel and meetings, maintaining documentation systems, and supporting governance and leadership functions. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the senior leadership team, allowing them to focus on delivering the charity’s mission and strategic priorities.

While this position does not involve direct line management, it does require close collaboration with the CEO office and a wide range of individuals in the organisation, acting as a key liaison between the Directors and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, discreet, and confident in managing sensitive information. Strong communication skills, technological proficiency, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset are essential.

The wider team is collaborative, mission-driven, and committed to creating an inclusive, equitable environment. Their main aim is to deliver impactful support to children and young people facing cancer, and the administrative team plays a crucial role in enabling this by keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

About the Role

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is responding to the largest emergency in our 40-year history. Over the last year support for our cause has seen significant growth in income as tens of thousands of supporters have joined MAP. Our challenge now is to retain this interest and ensure we sustain income as we respond to the ongoing emergency and the longer-term health of Palestinians over the coming years. With an ambition to be a £50m organisation in the next five years, our fundraising operations team, consisting of database and supporter care functions, will play a key role in enabling over one million Palestinians to access improved healthcare annually by 2028.

The Head of Procurement will lead and manage the procurement function within Medical Aid for Palestinians, ensuring that goods, services, and contracts are sourced, procured, and delivered in compliance with humanitarian principles and organisational requirements. Leadership and Strategy:

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience

• At least 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.

• Experience working in a humanitarian or non-profit organization is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in managing procurement processes, tendering, and negotiations.

• Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, donor compliance, and international procurement standards (e.g., UN, EU, USAID regulations).

The Project

Recovery & Connect is a project delivered in partnership with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, within the HOMEFirst alliance. Recovery & Connect works intensively with individuals who have pre-existing mental health issues and complex mental health needs, to support them in accessing community services and enable them to live well at home.

Recovery & Connect Workers are closely aligned to HOMEFirst – a multi-agency alliance who work together to develop personalised care plans and enhance the community support given to individuals, with the aims to prevent future deterioration in their mental health and avoid the need for in-patient hospital admission. Many of the people HOMEFirst support have experiences of psychosis and a history of trauma.

The Role

Through sharing wisdom from their own experiences, the Lived Experience Practitioner will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. As an integral and highly valued member of the team, the Lived Experience Practitioner will provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to people using the service, to help individuals regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery journey. In particular, the Lived Experience Practitioner will support the smooth transition of people using the service to other mental health services. Within a relationship of mutuality and information sharing, they will promote choice, self-determination, and opportunities for the fulfilment of socially valued roles and connection to local communities.

The Head of Public Affairs and Policy is responsible for overseeing Reprieve’s political engagement and policy work; managing public affairs and policy focused staff; and steering forward advocacy and policy that advances Reprieve’s strategic objectives on behalf of our clients in all the jurisdictions where we operate.

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support young people when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for young people, every step of the way.   

This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for young people who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services within the Essex area.   

We wish to recruit a family practitioner to join a new family team within TCS East supporting family members of young people accessing our services. As such you would deliver group work and one to one interventions for those with family members using or misusing alcohol/substances, those who require reunification, support around parenting, housing or employment to name a few.

You will provide direct therapeutic support to families. Support offered will include one to one face to face interventions, targeted group work & online support across the County. You may support our training offer and will ensure access for families into the service.

The families will require a skilled practitioner who is experienced in working with hard to reach, vulnerable groups at risk through the use of therapeutic approaches. You should have experience of facilitating groups or delivering training with knowledge of the issues and legislation affecting families.  

 What we are looking for...

-You will have substantial experience in working with families, parents or carers, either in a paid or unpaid capacity.

-You will have experience of carrying out individual and group work interventions with families, parents or carers.

-You will need extensive experience of working in multi-agency partnerships, alongside both statutory & voluntary agencies.
