About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our policy, evidence and influencing team to achieve change for people with breast cancer in the Midlands.
You’ll play a key role leading the development and delivery of our influencing work in the Midlands. The role will be part of our new regional policy and influencing function within the policy, evidence and influencing team at Breast Cancer Now. This new element of the team will enable us to continue to deliver our impactful influencing work at a regional level for people affected by breast cancer.
You’ll maintain knowledge and expertise of breast cancer services and care in the Midlands which will inform our national policy positioning and plans, build our stakeholder relationships and influence change in the Midlands. in line with our strategic aims. This will include focusing on topics such as waiting times, screening, and secondary breast cancer.
About you
You’ll have a good understanding of the current health landscape in the Midlands, or across England, along with experience of working in a relevant stakeholder, strategic, influencing or policy role.
Along with strong strategic, analytical and communication skills, you’ll have a proven ability to build strong external relationships, and influence change within the NHS at a local or national level. You’ll have the ability to work well independently while managing a varied workload, and the capability to lead projects and work with teams across the UK.

Primary location of role and hybrid working
This role involves travel across the Midlands. Therefore, you can either be home based or office based at either our London or Sheffield offices if within reasonable commuting distance.
If based in our London or Sheffield offices our hybrid working model allows you to work up to 2 days per week at home.

Who we’re looking for
Are you dynamic and resourceful? Are you motivated by helping people to help themselves? Can you enthuse a volunteer team to support people experiencing complex and emotionally demanding issues? We’re seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to maintain and develop our services from our offices in the Royal Courts of Justice and Central Family Court.
You will be an excellent communicator, as well as a practical, well organised and hardworking individual, preferably with experience in the voluntary sector or equivalent transferable experience.
Reporting to the Head of Service Delivery, you will be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to deliver a service to Litigants in Person, facilitating day-to-day operations, and building and sustaining relationships with key contacts at our partner university and the national court service.

Job Title: Health Advocate Educator

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
This is an opportunity to join Refuge as an Health Advocate Educator supporting women and children who are impacted by domestic violence.
The Health Advocate Educator will train and provide ongoing support to GP practices and other health professionals to enable primary and secondary care staff to be able to effectively talk to their patients about domestic violence and abuse (DVA), provide early identification and offer appropriate care pathways for female, male and non-binary survivors of domestic violence and abuse, aged 16 years and over and their children.
The post holder will work in partnership with the local ICB and the service manager to proactively develop and maintain links with health providers in the local area.The post-holder will work within a defined locality, either Stratford-upon-Avon District; North Warwickshire and Nuneaton and Bedworth, or Warwick District and Rugby borough; building links with health professionals and support agencies.
Travel around Warwickshire for client appointments essential to role, therefore use of a car essential.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.
This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
