- Supporting healthy mental well-being of fathers
- Encouraging fathers to be attuned and responsive to their unborn and young baby’s needs, thus fostering healthy and positive attachment.
Home-Start Manchester already has a robust Dad Matters project offer running across the city as well as the ‘Universal offer’.
This role aims to widen the projects impact by reaching more Dads This will involve increasing participation in classes and events and delivering 1-1 support to dads referred into the service. The role will be supported by and be part of the wider Dad Matters team as well as being part of Home-Start Manchester. Responsibilities will include directing dads to appropriate services, offering practical guidance for baby preparation and care, bonding and attachment and providing empathetic support.
Weekly hours can be worked flexibly to support home/work life balance. Hours can be worked both in the office and at home, whilst meeting the need of the service. The role will require travel across all Manchester communities. It is desirable that applicants have use of their own car, for which expenses are paid. A DBS (Enhanced Level) will be required.

The Role

The Person
Essential Experience

Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it. Our vision is a world in which all women and girls are economically equal and live their lives free of abuse and exploitation.
Economic abuse is a form of coercive and controlling behaviour: 95% of women who experience domestic abuse will experience economic abuse. It limits their choices and ability to access safety.
We work in partnership to ensure women have access to and control over their own economic resources. We focus on four strategic priorities: public education and awareness-raising; transforming professional responses; ensuring systems do not inadvertently facilitate economic abuse; and influencing policy.
Our work is led by victim-survivors of economic abuse (Experts by Experience). Their lived experience and knowledge shapes everything we do. We are always learning, and we share our expertise via a national working group and an international network of practitioners, researchers and policymakers.
Founded in 2017, we are purposeful and agile in approach. We led the successful call to recognise and define economic abuse within the UK Parliament’s Domestic Abuse Bill. This has created a framework and momentum for change. Our aim now is to ensure that policy and practice recognises economic abuse so that victim-survivors are supported to achieve economic justice and abusers are held accountable for their behaviour.
About the Compass Project
The Compass Project Coordinator will work as part of an exciting new partnership between Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA), Living Without Abuse (LWA) and RISE (Refuge, Information, Support & Education). The Compass Project seeks to develop best practice responses to economic abuse within the coordinated community response by working with local professionals to help them understand and respond to economic abuse.
About the Compass Project Coordinator role
The Compass Project Coordinator will work to:
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders across the Project areas (Brighton & Hove, Leicester, Rutland and Leicestershire), coordinating stakeholder engagement and access to training and resources.
- Work closely with the Interim Women’s Sector Manager to coordinate and implement the Compass Project in pilot sites.
The Compass Project Coordinator will:
1. Collaborate with Compass Project Partners to:
- Support the coordination of training and dissemination of resources to professionals across the two pilot sites.
- Identify and engage with local lived experience groups and women with experience of economic abuse, ensuring inclusion of women from minoritised groups, to inform and guide our work.
- Develop and maintain key working relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders and partners across the two local sites including the facilitation of links with money and debt advice services, and local financial services.
- Support the collection of qualitative and quantitative data from the network for the purpose of project and external evaluation.
2. Facilitating access to economic abuse training and resources:
- Develop and deliver tailored training sessions on economic abuse to enable frontline workers to recognise and respond to economic abuse.
- Work with Compass Project Partners to integrate relevant economic abuse content into existing resources.
- Implement data collection processes to support the evaluation of the project.
- Ensure effective communication with the project group and coordination of activities across the two pilot sites. Promote and facilitate SEA’s established routes to support for survivors and professionals.
- Attend local VAWG/DA Network meetings in a consultative capacity as an expert for economic abuse.
- Work with the communications teams across project partners to effectively promote the project.
- Facilitate referrals for women to the Domestic and Financial Abuse Team at Lloyds Banking Group and other banks/building societies we have direct links into.
3. General Duties and Responsibilities

- Represent SEA in training and presentation requests.
- Contribute to evaluation reports and presentations as required for the Compass Project.

Person specification

- Knowledge and experience of supporting and working with victim-survivors of domestic abuse. Frontline experience of working with victim-survivors would be an advantage.

PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
The role holder is responsible for providing a dedicated service to support a safe and timely hospital discharge with proactive solutions
This is a responsive service requiring someone who is able to juggle multiple priorities and keep them moving to enable people to get people home.
The purpose of the post is to work proactively with clients primarily but not exclusively older people, in both hospital and community settings, to improve their ability to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible, in their homes. This will be achieved by working within the existing local processes and pathways for health and social care, thereby identifying older people in priority need and providing individual clients with a coherent person-centered approach in which their specific needs are seamlessly considered, recognised, and responded to. The principal focus of the service is to provide bespoke home improvements and adaptations that support independence, however there are further outcome requirements related to prudent healthcare, new technology and access to services. Key to the approach is identifying with Health & Social Care partners those in critical need; ensuring effective service access to beneficiaries and tailoring interventions to the specific need.
To ensure a seamless service for clients being discharged from hospital or prevention of admission to hospital.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
· To be the face and direct contact of the Hospital to a Healthier Home Service.
· To work when required within the local Hospitals.
· To work with the hospital teams, assisting with patients housing needs and solutions to meet those needs to enable
discharge by the planned discharge date.
· Provide a point of contact for responding to clients or professionals calling the office in relation to urgent hospital works.
· Visiting clients on the wards to ensure we provide advice and personalised support to the client to identify their needs and discuss personalised options to repair or adapt their home.
· Proactively identify older frail patients with age-related challenges, complex health issues and related sensory loss, dementia or post-stroke trauma, that threaten their independence at home.
· Promote, provide awareness and develop referral protocols for potential clients with NHS, Social Care and Third Sector teams and establish a good working relationship within the relevant local authority departments, health services, housing and voluntary groups who are in contact with the client group.
· Work with the assessment and discharge planning processes within local clinical settings to assist in identification in a structured way, embedding a housing-related community service in the patient pathway.
· Provide a Healthy home visit assessment that is person-centred and needs-led, identifying housing, environmental and personal risks to independent living that clients face including assessing the risk of falls, and any factors affecting the safety, warmth and security of the property.
· Ensure that the client understands and is kept informed of all the procedures and practices involved with their particular circumstances.
· Deliver targeted information, signposting and support to those individuals identified with sensory loss, dementia and stroke (and their families and friends), to ensure they are aware of the services, information, advice and support available to them to enable them to live independently.
· Undertake brief interventions with people at high risk of losing their independence; this may include problem-solving with individual clients, supporting them to resolve issues relating to their sensory loss/dementia/stroke, living circumstance and independence, particularly at times of transition, such as hospital admission, diagnosis or discharge.
· Use Person-Centred approaches to plan, implement, monitor and review the support you provide.
· Work in a fully integrated way with other members of the local health and social care teams, to ensure people receive a seamless high-quality support, in which their living circumstance are considered as an integral part of their packages of care and support.
· Liaise with practical services/adaptations team or contractors to undertake relevant repairs and adaptations.
· Refer to specialist support such as the Managing better Caseworker to demonstrate assistive equipment to people which would enable them to live more independently and provide information and support services for clients that want to access new technology to support independent living.
· Have a basic knowledge of complex health and cognitive disorders, e.g. dementia, how the home environment might be improved to maximise opportunities for wellbeing and independence and how sensory loss impacts on these conditions.
· Ensuring the service runs in line with contractual and service level agreements.
· Provide information to the Operations Manager and other bodies monitoring the projects performance.
· Keep up to date with developments in relevant fields of work and research.
· Ensure that good records are kept in all cases, updating computerized records as necessary and maintaining case notes and progress forms.
· Contribute to the development of good casework practice throughout the agency, ensuring all casework meets the standards required by us and is in line with the Advice Quality Standard and the agency business plan.
· Contribute to performance and monitoring reports to the standard and within the timescales required by the agency manager.
· To develop a creative and collaborative relationship with the Technical and Adaptations team to ensure that we can deliver on our objective of always having clients at the heart of everything we do.
· You will be responsible for gathering and collating satisfaction surveys and providing management information on the levels of client satisfaction with the service.
· Ensuring that a suite of comprehensive activity-based risk management plans are up to date, relevant and communicated to the team.

About the team:
WaterAid Nigeria has recently completed its 2023-2028 country programme strategy which sets a 5-year building block towards delivering a more influencing led programme and reflects a progression from previous country programme strategies, outlines key shifts in focus required to catalyze change and achieve maximum impact for our work in Nigeria.
About the role:
The post holder will be expected to manage the effective implementation of the Accelerating Inclusive Sanitation and Hygiene Economy in Nigeria project working with the Bauchi State Programme team.
They would perform a wide range of duties using independent judgment and initiative to determine approaches or actions to take in non-routine situations. In broad terms, the job holder will provide technical, administrative and operational support for programme management (planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, knowledge management and fundraising activities) with reference to the SHF Project delivery in Bauchi state.
They will be required to interpret guidelines using policies and precedents. Most importantly S/he will be able to demonstrate sufficient professional and personal maturity to be entrusted with what in many cases will be sensitive information to the programme department and the organization at large.
Key Responsibilities:
A key responsibility of the Sanitation/Hygiene Manager will be to support the State Programme Lead by providing technical and administrative support to the Bauchi State Programme on sanitation/ hygiene to ensure the effective delivery of the Accelerating Inclusive Sanitation and Hygiene Economy in Nigeria project
and ensure WaterAid is networked in the right spaces to influence systemic change in Bauchi state. These will include:
General/Cross-departmental/Collaboration:
- Works closely with the State Programme Lead to ensure quality and standard delivery of the Sanitation and Hygiene Fund grant project activities.
- Lead in delivering the objectives of the SHF project in Bauchi State, especially in market-based sanitation, training of SME/entrepreneurs of sanitation and hygiene. This will also include promotions/campaigns, ODF strategies and development of WASH strategic documents and roadmaps.
- Represents WANG at State and national meetings, feeding back on progress and development on those platforms and suggesting necessary steps/advise to WANG.
- With the support of the State Team Lead, Head of Advocacy and Communication and Head of Programmes, develop appropriate activities and events to mark Global Days such as Handwashing Days, World Water Day, Menstrual Hygiene and World Toilet Days in Nigeria.
- Deliver learning products on sanitation and hygiene and engage effectively in knowledge management platforms sharing project learning on system strengthening engagements for improved sanitation and hygiene.
- Work collaboratively with the Business Development Officer as may be required to deliver project business case initiatives, especially as it relates to sanitation and hygiene.
- Support the State programme Lead in annual work planning and budget development and will be responsible for developing L3 budget for sanitation and hygiene-based activities of the Project.
Sanitation and Hygiene:
- Provide technical support that ensures sanitation facilities are hygienically and technically safe to use, are gender sensitive and inclusive and meet the needs of everyone at each stage of life.
- Promote gender-differentiated and inclusive sanitation facilities solutions that are context specific and addresses institutional gaps in schools, healthcare facilities, and public places.
- Provide technical support to hygiene interventions which must focus on behaviour change, and target people in household, community and institutional settings and expose the target population multiple times.
- Lead research processes that identify the determinants of hygiene behaviours and social norms, and use creative processes to develop context-relevant, attractive and engaging hygiene-promotion packages.
- Champion and support government to develop and implement national and state sanitation and hygiene policies, strategies and programmes building on African Sanitation Policy Guidelines
- Engage state level stakeholders to drive integration of sanitation and hygiene within work of health, nutrition and education.
- Engage with, support and contribute to sector planning processes and discussions around national sanitation approaches and strategies, adequate monitoring mechanisms and resource analysis.
- Influence government agencies, private sector, political leaders and other champions, to make sanitation and hygiene a political and social priority.
- Drive stakeholder engagement that considers sanitation service chain to unlock opportunities and catalyze growth in the sanitation sub sector.
- Facilitate private sector participation (women's economic empowerment, job creation, entrepreneurship, SMEs) - Engage collaborators [especially women (social and profit-oriented businesses)] at the various levels to encourage participation along the sanitation value chain at different levels.
- Support governments and private sector stakeholders to develop community-based sanitation marketing structures and viable business models for sanitation and hygiene services.
- Support local private sector participation in the delivery of sanitation services and products.
- Drive engagements that will unlock the sanitation economy including developing an effective fecal sludge management framework, the Toilet Economy, the Circular Economy and a digitally driven Smart Sanitation Economy.
- Provide technical support that drives WaterAid's efforts to support the Clean Nigeria Campaign (CNC) and government plans to achieve ODF 2025 and Hygiene Behavior Change Communication Approaches (HBCCA).
- Support data driven sanitation and hygiene interventions in a participatory manner using the Life Cycle Costing Approach and developed Local Investment Plans to ensure the sector benefits from and are driven by credible data collected.
- Support process to design programmes that promote non-discrimination and equality, sustainability, accountability, participation and access to information.
- Monitor, evaluate and share evidence of WaterAid's implementation to strengthen sector knowledge.
Advocacy, Partnership and Innovation:
- Support the formation of effective partnerships at national, state and local levels with government bodies, civil society, academic/ research institutions, international development partners, youth groups, Donors, Researchers, Think Tanks, Innovation Hubs media and private sector.
- Advocate and influence to improve integration and prioritization of sanitation and hygiene into other sectors such as Health and Education with the aim of improving national planning processes and state level implementations.
- Work in partnership to maximise impact, share knowledge and experience on sanitation and hygiene behavior with key institutions, stakeholders and platforms.
- Work to influence donors and governments to invest more in sanitation and hygiene and encourage adequate and consistent budgetary allocations that are effectively and efficiently used at national and sub-national levels to ensure sustainable and quality implementation of sanitation and hygiene plans and policies.
Research, Evidence, Learning
- With the support of the communication unit, develop case studies, position papers, policy messages /briefing notes, web articles etc. on key sanitation and hygiene issues to achieve influencing outcomes of WaterAid work in Bauchi and Nigeria.
- In collaboration with the Advocacy and Communication Team, receive and analyse legislations related to WASH and in particular sanitation and hygiene at State Houses of Assembly and prepare reports that convey impact of policy and legislative proposals on sanitation and hygiene access within specific jurisdictions of state and LGAs.
- Raise public awareness on issues of WASH, sanitation and hygiene in collaboration with Communications and Media team.
- Support the design and delivery of activities targeted at strengthening policy analysis and capacity of WANG CSO partners in sanitation and hygiene and WASH in general.
- With the support of the State Programme Lead and Strategy, Programme Effectiveness and Learning (SPEL) department document and share learning on sanitation and hygiene policy issues and civil society engagement, citizenship engagement/empowerment, rights of stakeholders, gender, equity, and inclusion.
- With the support of the WaterAid SPEL team synthesise findings and recommendations from completed research(es) conducted by WaterAid Nigeria into practical actions in sanitation and hygiene.
- Manage collaborative case studies, impact surveys and other research to adequately inform stakeholders about the critical issues in WASH service delivery and design.
- Initiate and support in dissemination events to share policy research reports in sanitation and hygiene.
- With the support of SPEL team develop, administer, and periodically evaluate institutional development tools which considers access and rights, equity & inclusion and other key components to effectively evaluate performance of the WASH sector in sanitation and hygiene.
About you: To be successful, you'll need to meet the following criteria.
Essential Criteria
- Must have a University degree in Environmental/Public Health, the Social Sciences, Development studies or related fields.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience of which at least 5 years must be in WASH Programme/project management, sanitation and hygiene promotion, community management, WASH programmes advocacy with any reputable international agency.
- Experience with high level stakeholder engagements (government/ development agencies), driving and delivering strategic priorities.
- Experience with building capacity of implementing partner organizations especially CSO's and government.
- Experience of managing multiple project stakeholders including community level stakeholders; government officials; CSOs etc
- Experience of project documentation for use in influencing; writing case studies and success stories.
Desirable Criteria
- A Master's degree in Public Health, Education and Awareness and any of Project Management, international development / human rights, sociology, public policy or political science will be an added advantage.

About the role:
We work within a coordinated partnership response to violence against women and girls as part of the Angelou Partnership. Within the partnership ADVANCE provides independent domestic abuse advocacy and support for women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
The IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specialising in working with clients at high risk. They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice and civil remedies and related matters, support women to attend court where necessary, and coordinate the provision of multi-agency support. Part of the role will to be to establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with services providing services to clients and partner agencies within the Angelou Partnership. As a Core IDVA will work across the boroughs mentioned above, under the guidance of the team leaders and project manager.
To be successful as the Core IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:
To be successful as a Core IDVA, you’ll need to have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse sector. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic abuse, of supporting women involved in mental health services, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

About the position….

About You:
To be successful as the Peer Mentor Coordinator (Young Women & Girls) you will need the below experience and skills:
You will be able to project manage the Maia’s Service’s peer mentoring programme, liaising with keyworkers and partner agencies to successfully establish and run a peer mentoring programme across six boroughs.
You will be able to effectively engage and recruit women with lived experience to act as Volunteer Mentors for the YWG engaging with the Maia service.
You will be able to develop resources and deliver a training package to Volunteer Mentors, including sessions on key topics such as safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, building relationships and maintaining boundaries, active listening and risk and crisis management, as well as specialist workshops focused on the challenges facing YWG, including violence, abuse and exploitation and contact with the criminal justice system.
You will have experience in developing and maintaining links with partner agencies (statutory and non-statutory, including children and young people’s and women and girls’ voluntary services) across the six boroughs, raising the profile of the Maia service and developing specific referral pathways for Volunteer Mentors and the YWG they support where appropriate.
You will be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic abuse, exploitation, mental health and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.

Main Purpose
This role is an exciting opportunity for you to play a leading role in the development and delivery of our new membership strategy. You will understand membership dynamics and ensure members experience a personalised approach that guarantees value to them.
You will work closely with colleagues to ensure that the membership offer and experience is optimised. This includes our regional and devolved nation leads, where you will support our activities, recruitment and engagement of members in these areas.
You will drive member engagement and lead the recruitment and onboarding of new members to the College as well as manage the promotion and election process for member opportunities within the college.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Hate Crime Reporting Coordinator. As Hate Crimes are still under reported, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in increasing awareness of Hate Crime in Barnet and working on a multi-agency basis to coordinate community awareness raising events, ensuring residents, statutory and voluntary organisations, and others are informed about Hate Crime and know how to report it.
This role requires community engagement, delivering staff training workshops, monitoring and reporting hate crime data, and a commitment to a victim-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities:
· Engage with residents and diverse communities, including disabled people, LGBTQ+ groups, and Gypsy Roma Traveller groups to raise awareness about reporting hate crime.
· Coordinate communications and community events to raise awareness of Hate Crime and encourage reporting.
· Organise and conduct workshops and forums for diverse community groups.
· Train staff and volunteers to identify hate crime and support clients to report incidents to the Police.
