About the role:
We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. The Head of Operations will be a collaborative and hands-on professional with project and people management skills, a track record of operational change management, and the ability to inspire colleagues in new ways of working that ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Foundation - driving system, quality and process improvements.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Working with the CEO to deliver effective day-to-day operations for the organisation, managing the Operational Excellence Workstream and our approach to Quality.
- Oversee HR, culture and people function, including recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, employee learning & development, working with our external HR advisors when required.
- Promote a culture of equity, inclusion and collaboration, nurturing a positive and supportive environment for all.
- Embed cross-team working, building key relationships and highlighting synergies across our working practices to deliver efficiencies and improvements.
- Oversee compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, ensuring all policies are current and regularly reviewed, including annual review by trustees (e.g. GDPR, Charities Commission) and manage our Complaints process.
- Lead on the management and implementation of safeguarding - ensuring appropriate policies, training and guidance are regularly reviewed.
- Support the CEO in maintaining strong governance and adherence to best practices in charity governance and reporting, including keeping the risk register up to date and progressing actions.
- Produce management reports for the CEO and Trustees as required, supporting the Annual Report & Accounts production and Board of Trustees administration.
- Oversee cyber security and coordinate IT support services, including the Foundation’s IT and digital platforms – maintaining licenses, agreements and contracts.
Essential knowledge, skills & experience include:
- Previous experience in a Senior Operations management role, preferably in a charity or not-for-profit setting
- Strong leadership qualities to lead operations and fulfil an executive function
- Reliable with a high level of discretion and integrity – able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
- Excellent IT and digital skills including Microsoft Office 365. Skilled in using workplace systems including Teams and SharePoint
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of managing compliance and risk, including safeguarding and GDPR – able to identify and respond to organisational risks
- Exceptional people management and coaching skills with experience of managing HR and L&D functions
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, able to multi-task with attention to detail
- Demonstrable commitment to ED&I, and actioning this through an inclusive culture and positive working practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Risk management: able to identify and manage organisational risks and operational issues

The role:

To provide employment advice to patients accessing ELFT NHS Talking Therapies, supporting patients to gain and/or retain employment via one to one information, advice and guidance sessions. This role is part of the national Employment Advice in NHS Talking Therapies programme and has been accredited by the Matrix standards for information, advice and guidance.

· Support clients to create CVs, Cover Letters, write applications, inform clients of job search techniques, and provide mock interview practice.

· Work closely with employers to support clients to remain in their jobs by negotiating reasonable adjustments at the workplace
· Work closely with local employment law professionals and trade unions to offer clients and their employers with information about their employment rights and responsibilities
· Manage allocated service project and work with the team to ensure referrals are received on time
· Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed on time, including questionnaires, reports and minutes for each client engagement and that these are regularly updated using the IAPTus (patient database system) and protocols.
· Ensure Caseload Management Tool is regularly up to date with client session information and targets.

About the role
We are recruiting a Counselling Lead to coordinate, lead and expand our counselling service. We are looking for an individual who is a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) member; the successful applicant will be required to maintain their professional registration and accreditation.
You will be joining a team of experienced counsellors, providing multi-disciplinary trauma informed counselling to adults who have experienced domestic abuse at any point in their lives.
The successful applicant will hold their own small client caseload and will also co-ordinate and lead our service, ensuring our delivery falls within the BACP Framework and is safe, professional and accessible. We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland. You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.
You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

Job Summery:
The Research Assistant’s role is to support the whole research team with administrative tasks to deliver their mission more efficiently. This role does not require scientific qualifications.
You will assist with organising meetings, including our Scientific Advisory Board meetings, and associated travel, writing letters and maintaining accurate records. You will be working across the whole research team providing administrative support as required, balancing priorities and liaising with other teams within the charity.
��Location: While contracted to our office in Fleet, Hampshire, our team supports a blend of office and home working provided you have adequate broadband and IT capability, with an average of 2-3 days in the office each week.
⏰Working hours: This role is 30 hours per week, with some out of hours working.

Who we're looking for:
With an enthusiasm and passion for the work of The Brain Tumour Charity you will have experience of working in administrative capacity. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), a keen eye for details and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Key accountabilities:
- Support the organisation of external research meetings such as Scientific Advisory Board meetings and meetings with researchers, including arranging travel, accommodation and meeting space.
- Organise internal research team meetings, including taking minutes and circulating agendas.
- Assist research grants team through preparation of outcome letters and communication with researchers.
- Assist in maintenance of accurate records for the research team, including document migration and data quality control.
- Manage shared research accounts and subscriptions.
- Completion of ad hoc tasks to support the research team with delivering their goals such as organisation of team training or planning sessions. Maintain accurate electronic records to track grant applications and awarded grants.
- Respond to enquiries about The Charity’s funded research, research strategy and calls for applications from researchers, the general public and colleagues within The Charity.
- Assist in ensuring the scientific accuracy of internal and external communications around the research programme, for example in feedback letters, mail outs, newsletters, website content and press releases.

Equip clients for independent living and move-on to more independent accommodation.Develop support plans with individual clients that reflect their ambitions and aspirations with clear actions for achieving these. Contribute to risk assessment and safeguarding plans. Ensure clients settle into their accommodation and become familiar with the local area. Work closely with the Housing Team to ensure residents are complying with the terms of their occupancy agreements. Contribute to client involvement within the LGBT+ supported housing service. Be aware of trauma informed working, particularly with regard to trauma experienced by LGBT+ people. Ensure clients are linked into appropriate support services and sustain engagement with services.
