The Role Within Unseen

Unseen provides support to people who have experienced Modern Slavery and Human trafficking and actively champions capturing voices in our work and providing development opportunities for those we are working with.

The Policy & Research team are currently leading three projects. The Survivor Involvement Coordinator will support in the delivery of these projects.

 This role will work with Unseen’s Policy & Research Team and have regular interactions with staff across Unseen’s wider teams including Support Services, Fundraising, Media & Communications and Operations.

Purpose of the role

The postholder will support the collation of lived experience voices into our research work focused on policy impact on what really works to prevent modern slavery. The postholder will work closely with the Policy & Partnerships Manager, the Policy & Partnerships Officer, Senior Caseworkers and Unseen’s Survivor Consultant Volunteers and be responsible for supporting and improving our wellbeing activities, survivor voice forum and consultant focus groups.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Programme Coordinator to join our small but committed team, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality mentoring programmes and women's support groups.

The Role

You’ll support the Programme Manager in coordinating the logistics and delivery of our mentoring services, which include our flagship Mentoring for Mothers programme and its adaptation, Mentoring for Mothers Welcome, tailored to support asylum-seeking women and their children.

From the initial application stage to conducting assessments and making the all-important mentor-mentee matches, you’ll ensure that everyone feels supported and valued throughout their journey with us. You’ll also be a crucial point of contact for our volunteer mentors, providing training and supervision, answering queries, and ensuring they feel confident in their roles.

In addition, you’ll take an active role in the coordination of our Women Support Groups, which help to foster a sense of community and solidarity. You’ll be responsible for ensuring sessions run smoothly, supporting facilitators, and actively promoting our mentoring programmes to group attendees. Your proactive nature will help strengthen our relationships with external partners and support the development of new opportunities for our service users.

About You

You'll have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable families and individuals, especially those from diverse and complex backgrounds The ideal candidate will have a background in community support or volunteer management, with strong communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. You should be confident working independently but also thrive as part of a small, close-knit team.

An understanding of the challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees is crucial, as is a solid grasp of safeguarding principles and experience implementing them. You’ll be organised, with a knack for managing multiple priorities, and tech-savvy enough to navigate our CRM system, Beacon, to keep all our records in order.

Experience working with community groups or delivering programmes in a charity setting would be a bonus. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who can speak additional languages relevant to our service users, such as Pashtu, Dari, Urdu, Arabic, or Farsi, although this is not essential

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Programmes Coordinator/Facilitator to join the Safe Ground team in HMP Lowdham Grange, Nottingham and take the lead in the effective setup, delivery, and evaluation of Safe Ground's programmes. The role involves delivering arts-based interventions aimed at supporting participants in their personal development, family relationships, and rehabilitation. You will be based at HMP Lowdham Grange, where you will develop collaborative partnerships with colleagues at the Visitors' Centre, as well as with key prison teams, wing staff, and, most importantly, the programme participants.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for someone with a passion for arts-based interventions, you will see relationships as central to personal development and be creative in your approach to positively influence and persuade others. You will be able to use group work, arts, and drama techniques to support participants to rehearse new behaviours and experience alternative perspectives. You will have excellent communication skills, and support skills. 

What we are looking for:

• Background in arts education, dramatherapy, applied theatre or equivalent 
• Practical experience and/or knowledge on group work facilitation
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• IT proficiency, able to learn new software. Confidence in Microsoft packages

• Co-Facilitate workshops and activities to support rehabilitation, combining arts-based interventions with course delivery.

This role is an opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the peer support service, you will have the opportunity to use your own personal experience of mental health challenges to coordinate the running of a Peer Support Service in Milton Keynes, provide information and guidance, and implement referral pathways to the wider Recovery Service.

Our peer support and recovery services are a key element of the services we offer, and we are looking for someone who can use their own lived experiences to provide support to help individuals achieve their goals. A Bit about Us:
WellChild, based in the centre of Cheltenham, is the national charity for seriously ill children and their families. We fund
programmes and services to make it possible for children and young people living with serious illness to be cared for at
home instead of hospital.

What we are looking for:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and well organised Family Engagement Coordinator to work within our Family Team. This
role will be working directly with charity beneficiaries - parents and carers of children with serious and complex health
needs. This is a diverse and interesting role that is central to the development and expansion of our WellChild Family
Tree service.

Purpose of the role:
The Family Engagement Coordinator is vital to the success of the WellChild Family Tree Network. This is a growing network
that exists to connect families across the UK caring for a child with serious and complex medical needs with each other
and with WellChild. Through its online Facebook forum, and programme of activities, events and communications, it
provides members with the opportunity to make friends, make memories and get support.

Working within the Family Team and as part of the wider Programmes team this role will report to the Family Programme
Manager and is central to the development and expansion of the WellChild Family Tree. Key to this role is taking ownership
of and delivering a well-defined WellChild Family Tree membership experience that attracts and engages families from
across the UK and includes the provision of high-quality content and regular communications.

Help us make more happen at one of the UK’s leading universities, UCL. Our Activity Service 

The Activity Service is an important part of our organisation, delivering high quality activities to the older people of Merton. Our Activity team create and deliver a wide range of activities including a daily lunch club, crafting, poetry, singing and exercises at our centre in Mitcham and other locations across the borough of Merton.

The Activity service is busy and vibrant where no two days are the same, the service has over 10,000 attendees a year, taking part in over 700 activities and exercise classes. The service enables our community to live more healthily, happily and independently in later life. 

Age UK Merton is in its second year of a new 3-year Strategic Plan, which aims to increase outreach and engagement across the borough, and our activities programme is a very important part of that.

About the Role 

We are recruiting an Activity Coordinator to support the Activity Service Manager in the delivery and development of the Activity service. 

The Activities Coordinator will be a hands-on role, working with the team to deliver a wide range of activities both existing and new at our centre and across the borough of Merton.

The role will play a key part in organising the delivery of existing activities, ensuring they are delivered to an exceptional standard with the service users at the heart of the service. 

The role will on occasion deputise for the Activities Service manager, overseeing both the team and the delivery of activities. This role will play an important part to increase our outreach across Merton.

• To plan and coordinate the distribution of the activity guide across the borough.

Volunteers 

• Working with the Volunteer Service identify and develop roles and responsibilities of volunteers who support the Activity team. 

• To coordinate and organise the team of volunteers who support the Activity service. 

Administrative Duties  

• Responsible for daily banking and reconciliation of cash for all activities. 

• Introduce new ways to pay for activities such as online bookings. 

• Take bookings for all activities and input details on to the CRM. 

• Answer telephone enquiries for the Activity centre. 

• Greet all clients and volunteers attending the Activity centre. 

Data Capture, Evaluation and Reporting.  

• Respond to feedback and suggestions from clients to develop activities. 

• Keep records up to date on the CRM for attendees of all activities. 

• Working with the Activity Service Manager to expand the delivery of activities into areas of the borough not currently served. 

• Working with the Activity Manager to develop client feedback opportunities. 

• Support the Activity Manager to identify and write up case studies for funding applications. 

• Use the CRM to run reports to support funding bids and reporting. 

General  

• Establish good working relationships with all relevant stakeholders and liaise as required Comply at all times with the policies and procedures of Age UK Merton.
