We’re looking for an experienced policy professional to join our Policy and Evidence team to lead our impactful health and care policy activity. You’ll lead a high-performing team operating at the heart of a friendly and supportive directorate with an excellent track record of influencing policy change. Working across a large and varied portfolio, you’ll take the lead in developing and leading our policy positions, campaigns and influencing programmes.
We have strong relationships across the charity, clinical, and governmental sectors. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with external partners as a thought leader on major issues like access to treatments and neurology services, mental health, community rehabilitation, and support for carers.
You’ll have a central leadership role across the team in ensuring that our policy work is built around strong evidence, informed by and developed with people living with MS, and drives impactful change.

As our Safety Officer, you will:
- Conducting health and safety audits in line with the Scouts’ Safety Quality Framework, identifying areas of non-compliance and taking appropriate action to rectify these

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Safeguarding professional, with a strong interest in protecting adults at risk and children from harm, within the wider Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Community?
Based within our Helpline Services team, you’ll have responsibility for:
- Responding to concerns reported by staff and volunteers
- Leading the coordination of responding to safeguarding concerns
- Dealing with safeguarding issues (as they arise) and liaising with statutory services as needed
- Giving advice and support to colleagues and our volunteers in relation to safeguarding and disclosure checking

You’ll have experience of working in a safeguarding customer-facing environment within the Charity or Public Service sectors. About Mental Health Innovations (MHI)
Founded in November 2017 following the success of The Royal Foundation’s ‘Heads Together’ campaign, it launched its first product, Shout, in 2019. Job Purpose:
To support the recruitment and admission of new volunteers, promoting volunteering opportunities and completing background checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ask for and check references for new volunteers
- Coordinate and attend volunteer recruitment events, such as Universities; organise volunteers and staff to support
- Follow up with prospective volunteers to encourage them to apply
- Work with the Communications team to promote volunteering opportunities online
- Coordinate and run regular information sessions for prospective volunteers to explain the volunteering opportunities
- Initiate contact with volunteers and trainees to process DBS/PVG/police vetting checks as required
- Check the status of volunteers who are part of the relevant Update Service
- Proactively monitor and follow up on the progress of checks to keep on top of weekly targets
- Coordinate video calls to verify ID documents, checking documents with utmost attention to detail
- Handle queries on checks, and troubleshoot cases such as missing documentation or anything outside the accepted DBS/PVG/police vetting procedure
- Liaise with our selected external provider for any queries
- Escalate disclosures to a panel for review, if required
- Accurately update outcome information for each volunteer
- Ensure the confidentiality of volunteer information is maintained and securely discard volunteer documentation once checks are complete
- Utilise tools such as Jira, Salesforce and effectively
- Provide regular progress reports to the Volunteer Admissions Lead and Head of Volunteers
- Undertake other ad-hoc tasks commensurate with the role as necessary

Location: Money and Mental Health’s central London office for at least 2 days per week with option for home working the rest of the time. The office is wheelchair accessible.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our thriving and committed Community and Events Fundraising team. We are looking for someone who is experienced in project management and implementation of ambitious supporter retention and stewardship programmes to maximize income generation. We are looking for someone who is creative, ambitious, and passionate about ensuring an excellent supporter experience, to help us drive income growth. This is a new role, offering you the opportunity to truly bring your strengths to it.
As the Community and Events Retention Officer, you will be an excellent communicator, a strategic thinker, take a test and learn approach and be able to demonstrate success of your strategies against KPIs and clear income targets. You'll be joining a team of friendly and passionate fundraisers, and you'll be supported to develop your skills and personal development plans.
This is a permanent full-time position based either at our new Headquarters: -The Salvation Army, Territorial Headquarters, 1 Champion Park, London SE5 8FJ, or flexible agile working from home.
