The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Energy Adviser, to work on either a full or part time basis. Job share applications are also welcome. This role provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity build its profile amongst regional stakeholders whilst delivering projects that seek to bring an end to fuel poverty and to the misery of cold homes that is experienced by over 6.5 million households in the UK.
NEA’s Energy Advisers are empathetic, polite and have good listening skills but are also knowledgeable, assertive, and confident. Their main role is to provide one to one advice to clients referred through the charity’s Warm and Safe Homes helpline and to deliver energy advice presentations to groups. They also get involved in a range of tasks to support these activities. Energy Advisers sit within the Communities Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.

What you will need to succeed
Working within our Communities Directorate you will have demonstrable experience of delivering Energy Advice and helping others. Therefore, it is vital that you have empathy, confidence and knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable low-income households.
You will have knowledge and understanding of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
You will also have knowledge of assistance available for energy efficiency improvements to low-income households.
You will be an excellent communicator, with proven experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders – with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.
The successful candidate will operate within Yorkshire and the Humber, East Midlands or Eastern region of England. Home working and office-based locations are available depending on your proximity to a NEA office. Preferences will be discussed with candidates at interview. Hybrid working is subject to necessary H&S and GDPR checks. Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK.
We are offering:
- £28,163 – £33,205 (FTE) – Scale 5-6, Points 12-22 (plus £3,300 London Weighting if applicable). New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the scale.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

akt is the UK’s national LGBTQ Youth Homelessness charity. We provide safe homes, mentoring, and support to ensure that no young person needs to choose between a safe home and being who they are. 24% of young people facing homelessness in the UK identify as LGBT (National Scoping of LGBT Youth Homelessness, akt, 2015) and 78% of LGBTQ+ young people cited an absence of family support (The LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness Report, akt, 2021). The charity was founded in 1989 and operates service centres in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol and works online through a Digital Service to offer support to young people outside of our four office regions. akt works with over 800 vulnerable young people a year providing both face to face and online assistance.
The Team
This role sits within London or Manchester, as part of the Marketing and Communications team and reports directly to the Brand and Marketing Manager.
Job Summary
We have one 28 hour part time role that can be based from either our Manchester or London office. The salary for this role is £25,316 per year (£31,645 per year full time equivalent).
This is a role with responsibility for akt’s content production, social media channels and website content. The post holder is responsible for day-day channel management including the social media calendar, delivering content via agencies and pro-bono freelancers according to brief, and producing quick in-house content.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop an effective content marketing plan to maintain regular posting, key messages, and brand consistency across owned social channels.
- Manage the social media content calendar.
- Day-day community management of akt’s social media channels (including Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, Snapchat and LinkedIn). Create an approach to out-of-hours and holiday coverage.
- Support the Brand and Marketing Manager to maintain relationships with key amplifiers (mega, macro, mid, micro, nano), working collaboratively to brief & commission content and generate coverage for akt.
- Where appropriate, produce in-house native content for social media, working with apps like Cap Cut and Canva to turn ideas into action at rapid speed.
- Work closely with corporate partners to bring their activity to life on social media - attending meetings and feeding into plans/pitches.
- Protect the reputation of akt on social media and keep best-practice and guidance up to date. Monitor negative comments and inform the team of risks to the akt brand.
- Update the team on all things social & influencer – identifying key opportunities and threats in the digital landscape.
- Work at pace, adhering to strict deadlines, hitting targets for social media posting and remaining agile (turnaround in hours) when trending opportunities arise.
- Commission freelancers and agencies to increase akt’s content capacity, overseeing briefing, project management and project delivery.

About You
We are seeking an expert on international nature and climate policy and practice, including on global treaties and negotiations, to lead our growing international work programme at The Wildlife Trusts.

Job Purpose
· To manage the delivery of Young Marketeers in Plymouth in four primary schools
Background to School Food Matters
School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.
Young Marketeers
This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!
Key Tasks include:
· Assist with recruitment of four schools to take part in Young Marketeers
· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project
· Build and support relationships with contacts in partner organisations
· Schedule, organise and deliver
o One assembly in each school
o Two food growing sessions in each school
o One market trader training session in each school
o Market Day in the city centre in July for four schools
· Maintain accurate records relating to the programme
- Complete monitoring and evaluation forms in accordance with instructions from our Evaluation team
- Take photos of workshops and events where possible
- Keep Development Manager fully updated on progress
· Keep up to date with safeguarding requirements and reporting procedures
- Maintain the ethos of the charity and positively promote our work at all times

Essential
· Experience of delivering food growing sessions to children
· Knowledge of fruit and vegetable growing
· Excellent administrative and organisational skills with great attention to detail
· Excellent IT skills including excel, word and email
· Experience of building relationships with partner organisations and individuals

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone enthusiastic about driving change to join the Huntington’s Disease Association, proactively working to advocate for and improve care for people with this rare neurological condition.
As Policy and Public Affairs Officer, you will work closely with our Head of Public Affairs to influence decision makers in the NHS, and UK and Welsh governments. You will be joining the charity at an exciting time as we develop a new influencing strategy. You will help shape this work, while having opportunity to work with external stakeholders, including health professionals, civil servants and other charities, all whilst developing your skillset and policy and public affairs experience. We have had success over the past year in parliament in highlighting the issues faced by people living with Huntington’s disease, and we are now focused on building this work to help drive policy change.
This is a remote role, working from home mostly, but will require travel to London and other locations across England and Wales (which the charity will cover expenses for).

ABOUT THIS ROLE
More in Common is looking for a Grants Associate, a highly organised, mission driven individual who is as enthusiastic about identifying new funding opportunities and managing grant proposals as they are passionate about telling the story of our work to funders and partners.
This is a critical cross-functional role that will report to the Head of Development, and will work closely with More in Common’s Co-Founders, Country Directors, and Finance Team to ensure efficient grant management and to coordinate content development for internal and external reporting on grants. The Grants Associate will engage most closely with grants for More in Common’s European offices as well as cross-country grants on a wide range of issues from climate to migration and disinformation and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Grants Associate will play a key role in supporting More in Common’s fundraising and grants management efforts across Europe. This fixed-term role (filling in for one of our colleagues who is going on parental leave) will focus on identifying new funding opportunities, developing relationships with funders, designing and managing multi-country grants, and providing fundraising and grants support to More in Common’s national teams.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of multi-country proposals, including project design, team coordination, proposal writing, funder liaison, and providing fundraising support to country teams as needed
- Researching new funding opportunities, from a variety of sources, including foundations and public funds and staying abreast of developments in the philanthropic sector
- Working with More in Common’s Co-founders, Country Directors, and Head of Development to maintain and strengthen funder relationships
- Supporting priority multi-country projects, including project management, consortium or team collaboration, and facilitating learning
- Leading on reporting for strategic multi-country projects, working closely with country teams to gather information and tell the story of More in Common’s work
- Contributing to More in Common's strategic planning processes, bringing a cross-country perspective and ensuring that lessons learned from projects are integrated into future work
- Representing More in Common at external events and conferences across Europe
- Tracking More in Common’s fundraising pipeline and grant lifecycle and working with the Head of Development in compiling quarterly fundraising board reports
- Working with the Head of Development to improve grant and project management processes and develop grants capacity-building resources and trainings for the global More in Common team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
We look for great people before we look for specific qualifications and experience. However, the following will be an asset for this role:
- 2+ years of professional experience working with grants – e.g., grant making, grant management, as part of a development team, or other similar work. Specific roles matter less than demonstrated familiarity with the grant application process and grant requirements.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
- French language fluency a plus; German, Portuguese, Polish or Spanish also beneficial
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and work calmly under pressure
- Can-do attitude and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Highly organised with strong planning and problem-solving skills
- Grant writing experience preferred
- Familiarity with the institutional funding landscape in European countries with More in Common offices (France, Germany, UK, Poland, and Spain) and at the EU level; familiarity with the US a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Salesforce; experience with HubSpot is a plus

The Accelerating Reform Fund is a new initiative which aims to transform social care services, making them more responsive to the needs of the community. It is a national programme, with 42 regions allocated to have their own projects. Greater Manchester is one of the ARF regions. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Salford CVS to support a new community engagement and investment programme.
We are looking to recruit a part-time (18.75 hours per week) Development Worker (Movement and Physical Activity) on a 3-year fixed-term contract.
You will lead our role in the Place Partner Investment programme in Salford, funded by Sport England (via GM Moving) and working in partnership with Salford Community Leisure. Salford CVS leads on VCSE engagement and investment, while Salford Community Leisure leads on systems change work.
You will engage and build relationships with VCSE organisations in specific areas of Salford in order to understand barriers to physical activity and existing provisions.
Combining this with knowledge already held at Salford CVS and insight from Salford Community Leisure’s system-wide engagement activity, you will design and deliver an investment programme for VCSE organisations that drives increases in movement and physical activity across various Salford communities.
