Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of community fundraising marketing activity, meeting recruitment and income targets
• Create and implement operational plans for the team including marketing and content
• Manage marketing campaigns through a mix of media from concept to delivery
• Work with digital and product teams to ensure marketing content is delivered efficiently and clearly
• Develop and manage supporter journeys across different media to ensure a consistent and engaging experience
• Keep community fundraising web pages up to date and user-friendly
• Promote and attend a variety of exciting fundraising events - including evenings and weekends
• Manage third-party relationships, including event suppliers, to support fundraising acquisition and recruitment activity

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced public affairs professional to join our small staff team to lead our public affairs activity and to grow the influence of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition. This is an exciting opportunity to influence positive change at a time of significant policy and political developments.

As Public Affairs Advisor, you will lead on the Coalition’s public affairs and influencing activity. You will be responsible for influencing the Government’s policy and legislative agenda relating to children and young people’s mental health, forging relationships with the new Parliament, and ensuring the Coalition’s views are heard across Westminster and Whitehall.

With over 370 members across the country, our Coalition has a significant potential to extend its influence. Many of our existing members are well placed to influence at a local level through working with their NHS Integrated Care Boards, councils and MPs, but do not always feel confident carrying out public affairs work. As Public Affairs Adviser, you will work with our members to upskill them to carry out their own influencing activity through a series of ‘Learning and Development’ workshops.

You will have Public Affairs experience of developing successful strategies to influence legislation or government policy, have strong knowledge of political systems and processes, have existing networks and contacts, and feel passionate about creating positive change for babies, children and young people.

This is a new role within the Coalition staff team and is generously supported by the Prudence Trust and the Hollick Family Foundation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the Coalition’s parliamentary influencing strategy.
• Build and maintain relationships with Parliamentarians and other key stakeholders, such as civil servants and special advisers.
• Lead the Coalition’s engagement with Parliament and Government, ensuring strong systems are in place to capture and track engagement.
• Monitor and respond to political and legislative developments affecting our work, making recommendations for responses, and proactively seeking opportunities to further the Coalition’s objectives.
• Provide political intelligence to the staff team, Chair and our members, and help to prepare staff for parliamentary activity as appropriate.
• Produce high quality written briefings, reports and other materials that communicate our messages clearly and effectively to a parliamentary audience. This will also include contributing to other Coalition communications such as media responses, newsletters, blogs, and social media posts.
• Plan and deliver events aimed at political stakeholders, for example, parliamentary events and roundtables.
• Participate in collaborations with other charities for shared influencing activities, for example the Fund the Hubs campaign and the Future Minds campaign.  
• Support work on legislation as appropriate, including drafting amendments.

Working with members

• Regularly engage with members to understand their influencing priorities and to gather insight to help inform the Coalition’s wider influencing priorities.
• Connect Coalition members to decision makers and help spotlight their work, for example, helping to organise visits to services.
• Provide advice to members on engaging with their local decision-makers such as their local MP, Integrated Care Boards and Councillors.
• Deliver workshops with members to share information and skills related to influencing and public affairs activity. For example, this could include delivery of sessions on influencing local systems, working with the government, and legislative processes.  

General

• Work closely with the Coalition Lead, the Policy and Public Affairs Assistant, and Chair of the Coalition to develop and review priorities for the Coalition and support to drive these forwards. You will also be required to work closely with the staff at Centre for Mental Health.
• Support with the development and implementation of the Coalition’s work plan and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• To develop, implement and manage regional (community) fundraising the associated income and expenditure budgets, ensuring that all budget targets are achieved

This role offers hybrid work, working 3 days in the office at our Hospices in Sutton Scotney, and 2 days remotely. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel around the region to meet community leaders, donors and supporters. 

Salary - up to £30,750 FTE, dependent upon experience.

As Income Officer, you'll play an important part in ensuring all income is accurately processed and allocated, while maintaining high standards of supporter care.

• Process income from various channels using the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Allocate restricted income in line with supporter requests
• Build and maintain positive relationships with supporters to understand their giving intentions
• Respond to telephone, email and written queries, including complex cases, with professionalism and care
• Oversee regular giving from over 7,000 supporters via Direct Debit, Standing Order and Payroll Giving
• Manage data across multiple systems including Access databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
• Conduct Gift Aid audit checks before HMRC submission, supporting income generation of approx. £1 million annually
• Ensure compliance with Data Protection, HMRC and audit requirements when handling sensitive supporter data
• Contribute to process improvements by identifying and helping implement innovative solutions
• Collaborate with teams across the organisation to support shared goals and effective ways of working

The Role

As part of the End Furniture Poverty team, you’ll work closely with the Director of End Furniture Poverty to lead and deliver our research strategy. You’ll develop and deliver high-quality research, analyse complex data, and create publications that inform policy and influence real-world change.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on juggling multiple projects, has a strong grasp of social research methods, and wants to see their work have a national impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading primary and secondary research into the causes, effects, and solutions to furniture poverty

• Designing qualitative and quantitative studies

• Handling large datasets and using tools like SPSS, Stata or R for analysis

• Writing publication-standard reports and policy briefings

• Mapping services and interventions in the sector

• Staying up to date with key policy developments

• Supporting our influencing work with powerful evidence and insight

Skills and Experience:

• Strong experience of both qualitative and quantitative social research

• Educated to degree level (ideally in a relevant field such as social or political science)

• Postgraduate social research qualification

• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

• Proficiency in statistical software (e.g. SPSS, R, Stata)

• Confidence in managing complex datasets and distilling insights

• A creative and analytical mindset

• Knowledge of social justice, government policy, and socioeconomic issues

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Support Worker to join our Stopover Supported Housing team in Brighton & Hove.

Stopover provides the only female-specific supported housing for young women in Brighton & Hove and West Sussex. The service offers a pathway from high to low levels of support, giving young women aged 16–25 a safe and stable environment in which to rebuild their lives and move toward independence.

You will work within our medium to high-level support projects, supporting young women who have often experienced trauma, abuse, mental health challenges, and housing instability. Your role will be to build consistent, trusting professional relationships and support residents in developing confidence, life skills and resilience.

• Work within safeguarding, risk management, and confidentiality frameworks
• Work flexible hours on a rota that includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins

• Supporting learners with self-care and independence skills such as eating, drinking, washing, bathing, using the toilet, managing incontinence, dressing, mobility, and medication administration.

• At the start of each shift, reviewing communication and log books, and liaising with staff at handover to ensure learners' needs are well documented and addressed.
   
• Establish supportive relationships with learners and encourage the development of stable relationships.
   
• Promote the emotional health and self-esteem of learners and support them through changes in their living situation and personal circumstances.
