The role is in our Digital team, which reports to the Chief Operating Officer, but since the website encompasses all aspects of our work from service delivery and information provision to PR and fundraising, this role works collaboratively with all teams.
Initially the role will help the team to plan the content workstream, agreeing roles, responsibilities, timescales and success measures. This role would work then as part of a cross-team editorial effort with key stakeholders to create the new webpages, keeping colleagues informed and engaged throughout the project. Once the site goes live, you would help with aftercare and making sure the site gets off to a good start, making any additional edits or new content as needed based on performance and feedback. Towards the end of the contract, post-launch, this role would help to upskill and support selected colleagues in other teams to take more hands-on responsibilities with website content creation and governance as part of a new, decentralised approach.
The ideal candidate will have strong planning, organisational and workflow management skills. They will also have proven experience of creating and adapting user-centred, engaging and successful content for websites – primarily including text, images and graphics, but also video – ensuring output answers its brief, supports brand and strategic objectives, and is fit for purpose, channel and audience.

The person
As the Whizz Kidz Partnership Development Manager you will be expected to get into the heart of the organisation, understand our ambitions and use your passion, knowledge and skills to help identify and deliver new mutually beneficial corporate partnerships. You will the experience and knowledge of how to identify and quantify the right opportunities for Whizz Kidz and know what it takes to win and manage different types of partnerships – employee engagement, strategic and brand and commercial. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, be comfortable presenting and willing to develop and learn new skills. You will be keen to play a key role within the fundraising and marcomms team to help maintain a positive culture, use your strong relationship management skills internally and externally, help increase brand awareness and unlock vital income to create positive change for young wheelchair users and their families.

Key Responsibilities
• The purpose of the Senior Copywriter is to use their highly experienced creative writing skills to develop engagement with as many people possible. Crafting compelling internal and external communications you will help generate the support we need to continue saving lives every day across Kent, Surrey and Sussex
• Generate creative and impactful written content targeting a range of audiences, across a range of channels, to raise awareness and engagement with our cause
• Generate powerful messaging for our fundraising and engagement campaigns. Ensure campaign key messaging works across varied channels and audiences, to deliver greater impact to new and existing supporters
• Work collaboratively with the MarComms Team and wider stakeholders to identify compelling creative ideas that resonate with target audiences and can be translated into multi-channel creative copy and content

The Directorate
The Communications Team sits within the Marketing and Communications (MarComms) Team. The MarComms Team builds brand awareness and engagement among the public, builds our profile with the media and key stakeholders, and supports fundraising activities to generate fundraising income to keep the service running. The team also engages, motivates and unites staff across the organisation to help KSS deliver on its purpose and achieve its vision of an end to preventable loss of life from medical emergency.

As a key member of the senior management team, the Finance and Operations Lead will ensure that the charity has robust financial management and oversight at all levels of the operation, along with responsibility for several key operations across the organisation to ensure the smooth running of the Hearts Milk Bank services. These will include procurement, HR processes, IT, volunteer management and support with event planning. You will be an integral part of a supportive team. The Human Milk Foundation aims to be a nurturing environment which focuses on personal development, and we encourage developing independence and autonomy alongside the support of senior team members. You will ideally have an understanding of the work we do at the Human Milk Foundation and Hearts Milk Bank and the role in supporting infant and maternal health that milk banking plays. Support will be offered by the charity in the form of training, supervision and regular opportunities to gain new skills.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Management of the organisation’s daily financial operations.
- Ensuring that sound and timely financial advice and information is provided internally and externally to provide a transparent picture of the Charity’s financial status.

Charity overview
The Human Milk Foundation (HMF) is a charity based at the Gossoms End NHS Health Centre in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Our goal is to support more families to feed their babies with human milk, through education, research and the supply of donor human milk.
We operate the UK’s first independent, non-profit human milk bank - the Hearts Milk Bank, providing donor human milk to neonatal intensive care units across London, the southeast, south Wales, Northumbria and East Anglia.
Much like donated human blood, there are situations where donated human milk can be lifesaving. Premature babies are very vulnerable and at risk of infections and life-threatening conditions such as necrotising enterocolitis (NEC), which causes some or all of the bowel to die. Mothers who have given birth early are sometimes unable to produce enough of their own milk straight away and can be very unwell themselves, so donor milk is often vital in protecting the baby during the first days and weeks after birth; it allows the mother the time and support to establish her own milk supply.
The HMB team recruit milk donors who undergo blood tests and complete a detailed lifestyle and health questionnaire before donating milk. Donor milk is collected from donors by volunteer SERV (“blood-biker”) volunteers and delivered to the milk bank where it is heat-treated (pasteurised) to destroy potentially harmful bacteria and viruses, checked by microbiologists to make sure that there is no unacceptable bacterial contamination and stored frozen. The milk is collected and delivered to hospitals and to mothers in the community who cannot breastfeed such as those with cancer, HIV or lack of breast tissue.
The HMB has recruited over 4,000 milk donors and supplied donor milk to feed thousands of babies, cared for in over 50 neonatal units. We have also supported more than 700 families in the community, including mothers who are establishing their own milk supply and mothers with cancer.
The Human Milk Foundation has a small team of dedicated individuals with a broad set of skills across medicine, lactation support, milk banking, research, and communications. We all have a great passion to make change to improve the health of babies, giving parents and families the support they need to be able to feed their babies, and new members of the team should share that passion.

The Maternal Mental Health Alliance’s (MMHA) Everyone’s Business campaign calls for all women throughout the UK who experience a perinatal mental health problem to receive the care and support they and their families need, wherever and whenever they need it. This role will play a key part in supporting MMHA’s successful campaign and helping drive change for women, babies and families affected by mental health problems during pregnancy and after birth.
Job purpose
- Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the MMHA campaigns.
- Contribute to researching and producing campaign materials.
- Maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders to support campaign objectives, including MMHA members, MPs, academics and lived experience champions.

Public Relations and Media Engagement
· Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers and media outlets.
· Draft press releases and pitch stories, and respond to media inquiries to increase the organisation's visibility and reputation.
Stakeholder Communications
· Coordinate and/or support communications with key stakeholders including donors, partners, and the broader community.
· Create targeted messages for different audiences, ensuring they are relevant and impactful.
Event Promotion and Support
· Support the promotion of events and fundraisers.
· Collaborate with external and internal event organisers to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
Marketing to student audience
· Drive the marketing and promotion of our programmes to students at campuses across the UK.
· Lead digital marketing campaigns for student recruitment during the recruitment season.
· Collaborate with the Outreach Manager to align outreach and marketing efforts, ensuring programme needs and KPIs are met.
· Analyse campaign performance and adjust strategies to optimise engagement and lead generation.
Internal communications
· Support the development of strong and consistent internal communications, working in the first instance with an internal project team.
Monitoring and evaluation
· Oversee quality control of all outputs.
· Use data to understand and improve the performance of the organisation’s communications efforts.
Analytics and Reporting
· Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communications efforts, using metrics to drive continuous improvement.
· Use tools like Google Analytics, Google Ads, social media insights, and email marketing reports to assess and refine strategies.
Team Collaboration and Line Management
· Work closely with other departments to align marketing efforts with programme goals and organisational priorities.
· Provide line management as required, including goal setting, performance management, task planning and execution, identifying learning and development opportunities, and hold accountability for the team member’s outcomes and outputs.
Person Specification
Essential skills and experience of:
· Proven experience in B2B marketing
· Proven experience across communications functions, including PR and social media
· Using data to analyse social communications performance.
· Project management and stakeholder management.
· Demonstrable success in building and maintaining high-impact partnerships.
· Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint) and Canva.
· Internal communications.
· Event marketing and promotion.
Desirable skills and knowledge
· Salesforce CRM.
· Photoshop.
· Knowledge of the UK’s education system.
· A deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
