Role Requirements
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies to support the delivery of The Children’s Trust’s strategic objectives
- Provide exceptional line management and lead the Marketing and Communications team to develop their knowledge, skills and ways of working to support business aims and drive proactive and sustainable ways of working
- Create a positive environment, where the team feels valued and motivated to achieve individual objectives and deliver to high standards in line with The Children’s Trust policies, procedures, strategies and regulatory requirements
- Play a key role in the Fundraising, Retail and Communications Leadership team, promoting cross-team working and integration to optimise opportunities and manage risks effectively
- Development of content, including written, video and graphic content, tailored for the intended audience and produced for maximum reach and efficiency
- Develop and deliver marketing campaigns that support organisational recruitment and the development of the workforce, working in close collaboration with the People team – with a particular focus on ensuring a steady flow of applicants for key clinical roles
- Lead the development and implementation of an integrated communications plan, with consideration of the key messages and audiences from across The Children’s Trust, where relevant working closely with the Head of Business Development and Commissioning where audiences may include referrers and commissioners
- Lead The Children’s Trust press office function, supported by the Senior Media and Communications Manager, including being part of an out-of-hours on call press office rota during key periods
- Oversee and promote the consistent use of brand across all channels including core messages, tone and visual brand
- Responsible for the strategic development of The Children’s Trust website and overview of content, working with business owners across the organisation to ensure content is accurate, compliant and effective

About Pennyhooks: Pennyhooks Farm Trust, in Oxfordshire, provides a haven for over 30 individuals with autism, many of whom are non-verbal or have complex sensory needs. Here, our clients (know at Pennyhooks as students), actively participate in farm life, from animal care and horticulture to rural crafts and conservation and are fully involved in our renowned fundraising events (Christmas, Spring and Summer Open Days)
The Role: In this pivotal position, you'll design and execute a fundraising strategy for Pennyhooks Farm Trust to secure and meet ongoing revenue targets. In addition, you will work on an urgent and vital capital project to secure essential funding to develop residential accommodation on the farm, to sustain the purposeful working of these young people as they grow older, providing them with a home and a job for life. This will be through the management of a portfolio of major donor, foundation and corporate projects, high-level volunteers and other influential individuals and organisations, working with Trustees and other farm team members.

Key Responsibilities
As Head of Media and Public Relations, you'll be an expert in public engagement communications and storytelling, and a key member of our ambitious Marketing Communications Team. You will lead the implementation of our Media and Public Relations strategy, ensuring its integration into our broader MarComms strategy, Income Generation Marketing Communications Directorate, and five-year organisational plan. Your responsibilities will include leading our press office, managing media coverage, handling reactive media scenarios, and developing media content for TV, radio, podcasts, and digital platforms. You'll also drive our public affairs strategy, collaborating with Government, MPs, and community leaders to advocate for our lifesaving services and policy changes.
In addition, you'll develop and lead our ambassador strategy, working with high-profile dignitaries, business leaders, celebrities, and influencers to raise our profile and garner support. You will play a vital role in creating and executing PR, brand awareness, and fundraising campaigns across all channels, including media and social media. The Directorate
The Communications Team sits within the Marketing and Communications (MarComms) Team. The MarComms Team builds brand awareness and engagement among the public, builds our profile with the media and key stakeholders, and supports fundraising activities to generate fundraising income to keep the service running. The team also engages, motivates and unites staff across the organisation to help KSS deliver on its purpose and achieve its vision of an end to preventable loss of life from medical emergency.

What you will be doing
1. Lead the strategy and development of the messaging programme, which sits within the Comms Hub.
2. Monitor the wider political discourse and develop an analysis of the framing challenges and opportunities for progressive campaigners and communicators. This will include proactively identifying media moments (e.g. political and economic events, extreme weather moments) to amplify key messages and mobilise spokespeople.
3. Write regular rapid response messaging guides on breaking news stories and topics, (which include framing principles, key stats, common questions and responses and a round-up of public opinion); present messaging guidance and do active outreach to ensure the guides get widely used.
4. Collaborate with spokespeople to turn messaging guides into key media lines that can be used in a variety of broadcast and media in reactive and proactive settings, this will include providing 121 coaching and support.
5. Manage the messaging training offer within the hub, including delivering messaging training to the Spokesperson Network, designing and holding messaging sessions, working with messaging trainers and delivering regular messaging training. This will include our Messaging 101 course, drawing on the Race Class Narrative and global messaging training, which we run in collaboration with international messaging experts.
6. Lead NEON’s approach to narrative research, this will include commissioning research, such as public opinion polling and focus groups, and carrying out and synthetising research in-house.
7. Support and coach relevant organisations in our networks on their messaging, comms strategy and how to most effectively communicate their campaigns.
8. Play an active role in the wider Comms Hub, working with our press officer network and spokesperson network, attending and feeding into key delivery across the organisation and supporting the Director with overall strategy to make the Comms Hub a cohesive overall team

About Media Trust Films
Media Trust Films bridges the gap between charities and filmmakers, creating powerful films that amplify the impact of grassroots organisations by leveraging the expertise of our talented directors, many with lived experience of the causes they’re supporting.
We carefully match charities with experienced volunteer filmmakers who produce and direct short films about their designated charity’s work and impact. Media Trust oversees the production, guiding and supporting the charities and filmmakers as needed.
We also provide training for charities on the filmmaking process and distribution strategies for their finished film, as well as training for filmmakers on intersectional story-telling and working with people with lived experience.
Many of our films have been recognised for their creativity and high production values at the Creative Circle Awards, Smiley Charity Film Awards, Big Syn Sustainability Film Awards and Third Sector Awards.

About the Role
We’re looking to recruit a Project Coordinator to join our award-winning Media Trust Films’ team. You will work closely with the Head of Media Trust Films and our team of Executive Producers and provide them with vital logistical and administrative support, ensuring all our projects are on track.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting charities to drive social change, who loves storytelling through film, revels in being part of a busy team and takes pride in being well-organised and detail-oriented.
Place of work: Remote, with semi-regular travel to Central London for events and meetings (once or twice a month)
Key responsibilities

Support the setting up of each film scheme by helping with charity research, processing charity and director enquiries and applications, helping with charity and director outreach, and supporting the team with diary and meeting management

What you’ll do
Build strong working relationships with YMCA Federation partners; your style is supportive! You will oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Strategically oversee the development and implementation of fundraising frameworks and models, for Trusts and Grants and Corporate Partnerships.
Guide the establishment of a combined Trusts model (again working with our partners in local YMCAs) whilst building upon a collaborative corporate fundraising model to optimise partnership opportunities. You’ll help take us to the next level!
Contribute to the development of a funding strategy which may include commissioning, as a new organisational strategy launches. You’ll involve the team in its development and provide clear direction in the ultimate delivery.
Work alongside the Assistant Head of Public Fundraising to support and deputise for the Head of Fundraising when necessary.
Drive sustainable income growth for YMCA England & Wales through development of strategic partnerships, including trusts and grants and corporate partnerships.
Identify new national opportunities and develop ways of working to enable us to help local YMCA to generate their own funding.
Provide practical operational leadership and delivery of fundraising targets, developing an already dynamic, high performing fundraising team.
Build excellent working relationships throughout the charity.
Bring effective and inspiring leadership to coach and develop existing staff.
Recruit new talent to maximise fundraising opportunities.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:
This role will play a critical role in delivering and developing our UK wide Advice and Support service, ensuring it works seamlessly with our outsourced Helpline and delivers real impact for older people in or facing financial hardship. You will also work closely with the Director to inform the future design and delivery of these services.
You should have experience of leading and managing a similar high volume, multi-channel remote service with demonstratable success in identifying and implementing service improvements.
You will have a deep understanding of issues affecting older people in financial hardship in the UK and an understanding of how Advice and Support interventions can improve lives.
This role could either be contracted to our London office, or homebased. Regular travel to our London office will be required, regularly if homebased, and a minimum of once a week if contracted to the London office. The ability to travel across the UK, including to Scotland, is also required.

Position of Head of Communications

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join us in the role of Head of Communications. This varied role offers the successful candidate a key position at WFN, leading on setting and implementing WFN’s annual Communications & Engagement Strategy, and supporting on charity and Award winner (grantee) PR. The Head of Communications is responsible for digital communications (including website, e-letters, video and social media), printed publications, and branding. They report to the Director, work in tandem with the Head of Media Relations, and will receive day-to-day support with social media and production of digital and event materials from the Communications Assistant, who they also line manage. They regularly assist in helping organise exciting events, such as our annual Whitley Awards Ceremony as well as timely communications campaigns relevant to the environment sector.
Strong writing ability and an eye for design are required to deliver communications across the charity, including across printed and digital platforms. Joining the Media Team at a key time as the organisation embarks on the first stage of its North Star vision which will see them working with partner organisations to close gaps in the current provision of care for young people and their families by 2035.

This is an important role where you will lead on communicating a portfolio of key areas of Young Lives vs Cancer's policy work, fundraising activities and services, to a wide range of audiences, identifying reactive opportunities and through targeted media campaigns.

The Media and PR Officer will have previous experience of working in a Media and PR role.
