As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insight, advice and support to key stakeholders across the organisation. You will be a trusted adviser to non-finance teams helping them to understand financial data and make informed decisions. You will be a key element of the high-performing and credible finance team, supporting both the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant and the Assistant Accountant in operational finance and in ongoing delivery of accurate financial information on which the business partnering relies.

To be successful in this role you will have strong analytical skills, providing financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting advice to drive performance and operational efficiency. You will have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders across the RCR. Having strong commercial acumen, you will be able to communicate with and influence a range of audiences effectively with an understanding that strong, reliable financial data is the foundation of a successful business and is a primary deliverable.

What you’ll do:

• Deliver a decision support service to managers and directors to deliver improved financial performance outcomes for the RCR.
• Ensure that partners use effective financial controls over their spend and income conforming to RCR’s policies and to optimise RCR’s outcomes.
• Support the partners in the production of outturn forecasts, budgets and multiyear financial plans that conform to RCR’s financial needs.
• Provide effective analytical insight and advice to partners and Head of Finance to maximise the return on investment and support for implementing change to improve outcomes.
• Supporting RCR’s regular financial and non-financial performance reporting with analytical advice, insight and commentaries.
• Support the wider finance team in delivering timely management information
• Help with system development within the finance team such as upgrades
• Cover for the Head of finance in their absence.

What you’ll need:

• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
• Experience of financial business partnering role or accounting role in comparable organisation.
• Excellent commercial skills, including the ability to lead or support negotiations and to influence and motivate others.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical/non-professional audiences.
• An enquiring and analytical mindset with the ability to spot risks, to dig further to follow up on problems and work through issues to offer practical solutions.

Our Spokesperson Network constitutes a network of media savvy spokespeople, who have direct experience of social injustices. Developed collaboratively with a network of leaders with lived experience, it aims to diversify the voices we hear in the media and make it more representative of the society we live in. Through training, media mentoring, peer support and speaking opportunities, we tackle the barriers that prevent these experts from engaging with journalists who have the power to influence coverage and ultimately drive change.

Members of our network have spoken on all the major news outlets from BBC Newsnight, BBC Radio Four, ITV News, to the Times, the Guardian, places where they can reach audiences of millions and have influenced documentaries and a storyline for a high profile drama. They’ve become part of policy and advisory conversations: APPGs (All Party Parliamentary Groups), Governmental select committees, speaking at Party Conferences and joining advisory panels.

Our work additionally seeks to support the wider charity sector to develop and amplify lived experience stories and expertise themselves. We work closely with charities to help them develop and train their own panels and spokespeople and are currently facilitating Future Voices, a unique spokesperson training programme for migrant domestic workers in partnership with The Voice of Domestic Workers.

About the Role 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced media communications professional to join and shape a growing, friendly and flexible charity committed to advancing social justice through transforming representation in the media.

Sounddelivery Media is on the lookout for a dynamic individual with great media engagement know-how, a hands-on approach, strong relations with journalists and a passion to address how issues are represented in the media. Join our growing and impactful team working alongside dynamic leaders and their communities addressing social injustice and social inequalities. Our Media and Community Engagement Lead offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with an incredible network of leaders.

This is a full time role (although we would consider a 4 day week) with 2 days a month minimum working with the team in London.

You will provide strategic support to our dynamic Spokesperson Network of leaders with direct experience of social injustices, through;

Managing our existing media relationships, and developing new ones, to create opportunities for our network of confident public spokespeople to be visible
This role will enable us to increase the visibility and impact of our programme participants and their communities by engaging with journalists, media professionals, and other influential platforms. You will be responsible for broadening speaking opportunities, such as broadcast interviews, opinion pieces, and identifying potential storyline collaborations across various media outlets. You’ll also seek opportunities to feature our network in public forums like TEDx talks, conferences, and other platforms that influence public conversations.

Empowering Network members through training and support to develop and maximise media opportunities themselves.
In addition to media engagement, you will play a key role in empowering our network to create and share their own content. This includes helping participants build confidence and develop skills in content creation (eg vlogs), and pitching to the media, ensuring their voices reach those in positions to drive meaningful change.

Building trusted relationships with lived experience leaders in a ethical, trauma-aware, and holistic way
You will work closely with our community to activate and strengthen our network, driving collective action and amplifying the important issues they are addressing. Building trusted relationships with lived experience leaders is key, and you will ensure that all engagement is grounded in ethical, trauma-aware, and holistic support.

Sharing knowledge with other charities supporting Spokesperson Networks
You will help share what we learn through our work with other charities and learn from them too. Using peer-led sessions to share best practice, challenges and ideas for charities working to amplify the voices of people with direct experience of social injustice.

As a small but growing charity, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of our organisation alongside a supportive trustee board, a dedicated team of four staff, and a group of skilled freelancers. What You’ll Be Doing –  Key responsibilities:

-Taking the lead on strategic media engagement across all our programmes of work- maximising and creating media and speaking opportunities for our members

-Nurture and grow our network of journalists, updating them about our work and the issues our networks are speaking on through regular and responsive communications

-Supporting our community to feel confident and prepared for interviews, honing their media messages and accompanying them to interviews where appropriate.

-Proactively source longer-term opportunities for the issues our community addresses to be more visible in the public eye this could include building relationships with soap storyliners and documentary makers. 

-Support the team on Sounddelivery Media events that increase the visibility of our community and our work

-Support with delivery of media training and coaching on our programmes. 

-Work with the communications team on content- ensuring messaging is impactful in blogs 

-Participate in our peer-led meetings to share our learning and invite guest speakers to share theirs.

Essential

-Experience at a senior level working in media relations within a charity, journalism or similar.

-Significant experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with a range of journalists and media professionals;

We're looking for a Research and Insight Executive to join a newly created team within our Fundraising directorate. The team have been created to work alongside the high value teams (Philanthropy and Partnerships) to provide them with the highest quality donor research, funding propositions and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations.

As a Research and Insight Executive, your role will play a crucial role, supporting our ambitious high value fundraising strategy and will be pivotal in the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s first Major Appeal. What we want from you

We’re looking for a curious, organised and enthusiastic person to work with our high value fundraisers to support them with research and insight on new and existing funding opportunities to support our ambitious growth plans. 

As well as conducting research and creating research profiles, you’ll work closely with the Research and Insight Manager to implement new prospect research processes and ways of working to maximise the effectiveness of our high value fundraising programme. About the role:

Established in 2017, GH5050 operates as an independent, evidence-driven initiative with charitable status registered in the UK. Context

Through our flagship report and Gender and Health Index, GH5050 provides the only birds-eye view of gender, inclusion and equality in the global health system today. The report assesses 200 organisations annually across a core set of variables on policies and practices to tackle power and privilege imbalances within the workplace, the gender and geography of organisational leadership, and whether gender is considered in any organisations' external-facing programmatic or policy work.

In addition to the annual report, GH5050 also produces a range of other evidence-informed outputs, including thematic reports relating to equality and diversity in the workplace (e.g. on gender pay gap), and policy briefs about strategies for organisational change. 

GH5050 is expanding into new sectors beyond health and will increasingly support analysis at the country level. The successful candidate for this post is expected to play an integral role in contributing to the growth of GH5050, as well as taking a leading role in developing these new areas of work and leading and managing research staff across three sectoral workstreams.

Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leadership role in a world-leading gender accountability and advocacy initiative. You will join a small and growing team of staff working at GH5050, taking responsibility for a large body of research and its associated impact. This role will be instrumental in exercising leadership for research and impact as GH5050 expands into two new sectors and more work at the country level.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, proactive, organised and experienced team player to assume this key leadership role. Role Responsibilities

Ensure delivery of rigorous and impactful research outputs across several thematic sectors at global and country levels: Overall responsibility for production (research design, coordination, time management, analysis, writing, production) and dissemination of rigorous research outputs including reports, indices and data visualisations. This will include identifying, liaising with and guiding external writers that may be required to support the delivery of outputs.

Manage, develop and motivate a diverse team of dispersed multisectoral and multidisciplinary researchers: Responsible for line management of sector specialists (health, law/justice and economics/finance) and their teams which include consultant researchers dispersed across the globe. This will entail recruitment, performance management, talent development and team building of GH5050 researchers as well as capacity building of researchers in partner organisations.

Manage a range of partnerships: Responsible for developing, maintaining and growing research and advocacy partnerships with external teams across the globe, through the application of principles and practice of equitable research partnerships.

Report to external stakeholders: Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of activities and impact to GH5050 donors using specified templates for reporting.

Ensure internal communications: Provision of regular updates on research progress, including identifying and flagging risks to achieving research objectives. Identification of risk mitigation or management strategies as appropriate.

Ensure external communications-including stakeholder engagement: In collaboration with GH5050 communications and engagement specialists, ensuring that research outputs are disseminated for maximum impact. Developing and maintaining regular engagement and communications with organisations included in the sectoral reports (at global and national levels). Willingness to travel to present at external conferences, stakeholder meetings, and other events as appropriate.

Track impact: Develop and maintain a rigorous system to track the impact of GH5050 research and engagement. Work with communications and advocacy staff to capture and communicate impact and stories of change.

Ensure sound financial management: Budget responsibility for research projects and activities. Regular liaison with head of operations and head of budget in GH5050 to ensure that spend and projections are on track to be balanced. Ensure that research teams report expenditures according to agreed budget parameters and regulations (set by UK Charity Commission, donors, auditors).

Support resource mobilisation: In collaboration with the rest of the senior team, cultivate relationships with existing and potential supporters of the work of GH5050 and identify opportunities for new research work and collaborations. Take ownership of grant and to a limited degree peer-review academic grant proposal development.

While peer-reviewed publications are not a primary aim of GH5050, we encourage our researchers to publish in the academic literature and when they do so to practice equitable partnership practices in relation to authorship.

Person specification

· PhD level qualification preferred. If Masters level qualification then equivalent and demonstrable relevant professional level experience

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally. 

Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level. We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe. 

Summary job description

Our Technical Knowledge team oversees Blue Ventures’ technical pillars (Secure Rights, Community-Based Fisheries Management, Food Security and Financial Inclusion) and supports the use of data for decision-making, providing tools, training, and guidance to partners and Blue Ventures’ staff around the world. This team integrates expertise and deep practical experience with pragmatism and a desire to enable others to deliver lasting change, by distilling global best practices and knowledge into usable tools, appropriate training, and responsive guidance and support. The team is also responsible for delivering peer learning exchanges and knowledge-sharing events both online and face-to-face across the organisation, in addition to overseeing technical publications.

We are currently recruiting for an exceptional individual to be part of this global team, leading a critical pillar of the strategy on Community-Based Fisheries Management. This individual would oversee the development, refinement, and roll out of tools and training to support partners working with communities around the world as they establish community-based fisheries management and locally managed marine areas. These types of tools and materials include:

- Accessible tools and appropriate technologies:

Intuitive to use and readily available, including software and mobile apps for data collection and interpretation, simple decision support tools for assessment, planning, and problem resolution, and community-level materials for common activities, such as meeting facilitation guides or choice architecture to help communities decide which fish and fisheries to focus management attention on.

As such our technical team plays a key role in identifying, collating, sharing, and transferring key insights and successful approaches, updating information, training, tools, and guidance around the world, and building a community of practice around each of the pillar themes.

At the heart of Blue Ventures’ 2030 strategy is an unwavering commitment to empowering communities through participatory data collection, feedback, and use of fisheries and ecological data for adaptive management, and playing a leadership role in our sector to make this the norm. The Global Head - Community-Based Fisheries Management will have a strong understanding and technical experience of data-driven adaptive fisheries management in the small-scale fisheries sector, with proven skills in coaching and team building skills and effective management capacity in leading a multi-disciplinary team and working cross-functionally.

Blue Ventures recognises the key roles that women play in fisheries management and conservation as fishers, gleaners, processors, sellers and negotiators and seeks to highlight the important value of their roles in the fisheries value chain, that are often invisible, so that they also benefit. An understanding of the challenges faced particularly by women in fisheries and experience of working in communities to find some practical solutions desirable for this role. The role will work in close collaboration with the Technical Knowledge team to support these goals, which includes working with fisher associations and committees to increase the participation of women in fisheries management.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the complex challenges facing tropical coastal fisheries and the small-scale fishing communities that depend on them. They will have practical experience of working with coastal communities in Africa, Asia or Central America, and partnering with civil society organisations, non-governmental organisations, government institutions, and other stakeholders to identify and address fishing issues, placing communities at the heart of the solution.

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our growing Individual Giving Team as a Senior Individual Giving Officer. You will work on creating our Individual Giving appeals, writing compelling communications which will inspire and drive income. You should have experience of working in a charity environment, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously to tight deadlines and budgets.

Experience required 

• ​Managing direct marketing campaigns in a charity environment.
• Leading projects from start to finish within given budgets and timescales.
• Creating compelling and professional communications for a variety of audiences and channels. 
• Analysing campaign results and using insight to optimise future campaigns.
• Collaborative working with multiple internal and external partners to deliver campaigns.

Your role

We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The ideal candidate has senior-level fundraising experience at an NGO, organisation, or charity, a strong and established network of executive relationships in major foundations, and a proven track record of identifying and closing deals in the range of 1-5 million USD. The fundraising leader will develop relationships with potential donors, identify fundraising opportunities, and manage the grant application process.

We seek someone who aligns with the DfG mission, has a passion for fundraising and can strategise and deliver new initiatives. The fundraiser will collaborate with program staff, and senior management to develop leads, compelling proposals and reports. The working environment is informal, team-oriented, and encourages individual input and development. Thereby supporting the execution of DfG’s impact driven program to improve life through design. This position reports to the Managing Director of Design for Good.

Key Responsibilities

· Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, program officers, and key stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact for grant inquiries, reporting, and communications. 

· Research: Identify and explore funding opportunities from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other potential donors whose interests align with our programs. Regularly monitor donor databases and other sources for announcements and opportunities.

· Applications & Fundraising Development: Lead the creation of high-quality grant proposals and letters of inquiry in collaboration with program staff, ensuring they are compelling, well-structured, and tailored to donor priorities. 

· Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all grants meet donor regulations, reporting requirements, and deadlines. Prepare and submit timely, accurate reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and financial impact.

· Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the success of fundraising efforts, monitor progress toward revenue goals, and use data analysis to identify trends and inform strategy, providing regular updates and insights.

· Events, Networking, and Representation: Organize fundraising events and oversee volunteer and partner teams. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and boost resource mobilization.

Harris Hill are delighted to be partnering with a leading health research charity, in their search for a Trusts and Corporate Prospect Researcher.

This is an exciting role to join a dynamic team, contributing over £2m to our fundraising income, with ambitions to grow. You will play an important part in building the Trusts and Corporates pipeline for the charity.

As Trusts and Corporate Prospect Researcher, you will identify and qualify new prospects and provide research to support the fundraising teams to make informed decisions to engage, cultivate and solicit gifts from Trusts, Foundations and corporate networks. You will provide insights into new areas of prospecting to continually replenish the prospect pipeline with high-capacity prospects in order to meet current and future income targets. You will implement a Prospect Research Strategy aligned to the charity and their strategic areas. You will also work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders within the charity to ensure they are maximising cross-working opportunities.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Experience of researching high net worth individuals, company Directors, and/or family Trust and Foundations Boards identifying capacity, propensity and affinity to the cause.
• Strong understanding of due diligence, data protection and the latest GDPR and ICO updates. Ability to gather information from the public domain in accordance with GDPR, Data protection regulation, IoF and charity law.
• Experience of producing accurate, unbiased, concise snapshot research as well as more in-depth research profiles detailed reports, network mapping and analysis on donors and prospects.
• Understanding of the principles of Philanthropy fundraising practices and donor motivations.
