Born Free has recently invested in fundraising to support income growth and diversification under the leadership of a new Director of Fundraising.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Individual Giving Officer to become an integral member of the fundraising team as we look to diversify and grow our individual giving programme.

Individual giving is a key income stream for Born Free, and you will be supporting the Head of Public Fundraising to grow income from new and existing supporters, including through existing products and testing new ways for people to give. The successful candidate will be involved in areas such as our adoption programme, lottery, appeals, supporter acquisition, retention, stewardship, and digital fundraising.

You will be highly motivated and passionate about the mission of Born Free and bring the experience of working in a fundraising team to help grow and diversify the individual giving programme.

The Role

Working collaboratively with the Head of Public Fundraising to develop and implement the Individual Giving strategy for income growth and supporter retention. The successful candidate will be detail-orientated, a team player, creative and able to work collaboratively as well as independently.

Resourceful, organised and a proactive team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will need to juggle both creative and data tasks with drive and enthusiasm, be able to work with minimum supervision and show good judgement and initiative.

Key tasks will include:

• Supporter acquisition: work with Head of Public Fundraising to develop, project manage and deliver an integrated multi-channel rolling supporter acquisition across the individual giving portfolio.
• Supporter retention, journeys, and engagement: work with the Head of Public Fundraising, Supporter Database & Insight Manager, and Communications team to project manage, and deliver a successful supporter journey to reduce attrition across the individual giving portfolio, and deliver on appeals and other supporter mailings.
• Digital Marketing: project manage and champion digital fundraising for individual giving, supporting the Social Media Manager and the Marketing Manager with the development of content.
• Manage suppliers and stakeholders: Ensuring high standards of delivery and collaboration are maintained within budgets and procurement requirements.
• Data insight: Work alongside the Head of Public Fundraising and Supporter Data & Insight Manager to ensure the selection and segmentation maximise results. Use campaign data to track and report on the effectiveness of activity, attrition levels, and inform decision-making and future planning.
• Strategy & Planning: Work alongside the Head of Public Fundraising and Director of Fundraising to produce and execute an effective and sustainable individual giving plan to grow income from new and existing donors.
• Budgets: Support the Head of Public Fundraising with compiling budgets, phasing and monitoring Individual Giving income and expenditure.
• External trends and regulation: Keep up to date with fundraising trends and legislation in relation to public fundraising, and ensure compliance with the Charity Commission, fundraising regulation and data protection requirements, including the General Data Protection Directive; Ensure all individual giving activity complies with the appropriate regulation and legislation and delivers an excellent experience for supporters.

The successful candidate should ideally demonstrate the following attributes:

• Direct marketing experience (essential) and digital marketing experience (essential)
• Highly numerate and extremely comfortable working with data, spreadsheets and KPIs
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build effective relationships with colleagues, donors and external suppliers.
• Proven experience in working with Microsoft Office, Excel, and relational databases (including data input), ideally with knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or equivalent CRM.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate effectively to both external and internal audiences.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills and an ability to prioritise work, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines, with a strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with third party suppliers including creative agencies, printers and fulfilment house.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To work with the Head of Fundraising & Communications in order to:

· be responsible for the administration of voluntary income and volunteer administration, ensuring donations are efficiently and accurately identified, recorded and acknowledged, and for the day-to-day management of the volunteer database.

• have excellent written, communication and IT skills along with experience of CRM databases.

Report to: Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering

Responsible for: Leading the food distribution service and quality assurance at Hackney Foodbank’s allocated Food Distribution Centres located across the borough of Hackney. This includes ensuring all our visitors have a positive experience when collecting their food parcels and are signposted to other provisions appropriately; being responsible for directing the volunteers, working closely with the Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering, Health and Safety, and promoting best practice at each centre. This role will also involve administrative tasks, organising and carrying out home deliveries for visitors, inputting data on visitors’ journeys accurately into a database, driving the Hackney Giving Van occasionally and regularly driving a Luton van to the various Distribution Centres.

The newly created role of Philanthropy Coordinator at HorseWorld Trust is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Head of Supporter Development to ensure the delivery of a proactive and sustainable major donor programme.

At HorseWorld Trust our vision is a world where horses and people help each other to live and work in harmony.. In turn, our mission is to create a safe community where horses and people connect together and enjoy lifelong learning.

HorseWorld Trust was established in 1952, and is based in Whitchurch, near Bristol.  Our highly trained Welfare department is committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing horses, ponies and donkeys in need and our ground-breaking educational programme, called Discovery, supports emotional growth and learning in young people through hands-on experience with rescued equines. 

Our Philanthropy Coordinator will proactively track and manage a pipeline of next and existing High Net Worth Individuals and support HorseWorld's Major Donor Working Group comprising the Chair of Trustees, CEO and Heads of Departments.  You will be expected to provide insight and identify opportunities for connection plus manage and track the stewardship tools to guide donors through their giving journey, including cultivation plans, sourcing and presenting tailored information for donors.  Facilitating and attending meetings and events, both in person and online, you will be ensuring steps are being taken to nurture donor relationships.

Overall purpose

This is a key role that will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager, Head of Public Engagement and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

You will contribute to the implementation of our communications, engagement and fundraising strategies, ensuring that your work is anchored in our organisational and team strategic goals. You will also be closely involved in team planning, whether it’s inputting into our operational plan or sharing ideas for new campaigns. 

There are opportunities to get hands-on developing and delivering communications and fundraising campaigns to educate and inspire individuals, businesses, and other audiences. The aim of these campaigns is to help remove barriers to employment for refugees and bring about systemic change via our partnerships. Please note, we do not currently run political campaigns.

You will be responsible for creating and delivering day-to-day communications across our owned channels (social media, email newsletters, and some website content). You will also help colleagues create content for earned and paid communications that they’re leading on (press and media, digital marketing, engagement with influencers)

A team player, you will build strong relationships across Breaking Barriers so that you can source and develop content that:

• increases our visibility and influence
• showcases our impact
• inspires members of the public to help refugees build new lives in the UK
• engages and stewards our key audiences, including corporate partners, employees who advocate for refugees, individual donors, volunteers, and people of a refugee background.

You will support the Senior Communications Manager to maintain our strong brand, ensuring that all our content complies with our brand guidelines and is of a high standard.

With a good eye for detail, you will play a key role in our data management, including overseeing data on the storytelling section of our CRM, monitoring communications enquiries, and setting up and running reports. You will become a Salesforce Superuser (full training and support will be provided for this).

The Development Coordinator is a new role created to enable the Worthing Theatres & Museum Development team to raise crucial funds that will support the organisation in achieving its ambitious goals.

WTM has recently undergone a significant fundraising review and a new strategy is now in place. This strategy reflects the organisation’s need to increase fundraised income over the next 3 years (2024 - 2027) to meet its ambitious creative and capital plans to deliver on its mission to offer transformative creative experiences for the community of Worthing.

The postholder will work closely with the Head of Development and Development Manager to deliver the ambitious fundraising strategy for WTM. They will be responsible for raising funds of up to £10,000 per application from primarily Trusts and Foundations and some local corporate partners, and supporting the team with operational tasks including financial processes, events and communications.

Main Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

Fundraising and Relationship Management

● Manage relationships with Trust and Foundation funders giving up to £10,000 per year including ongoing donor stewardship, reporting writing, crediting etc.

● Secure new income by applying for grants and funding of up to £10,000 to support a range of WTM projects from Trust and Foundations and from local businesses including researching trusts and businesses, identifying suitable projects within the WTM portfolio to apply for, writing bids etc.

Development Operations and Support

● Lead on supporter crediting for the department ensuring that all supporters are acknowledged in relevant digital and print materials across the year.

● Act as day-to-day point of contact for the Development team’s use of the Spektrix database ensuring best practice.

● Work with the Finance team to monitor Development income on a monthly basis and report back to the Head of Development and Development Manager.

This role is a mixture of supporting Disabled people to express their views and wishes, and ensuring their rights are upheld through Advocacy support and providing advice across topics such as Housing and Benefits.

In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of delivering high-quality Advocacy and Advice for D/deaf and Disabled individuals in Tower Hamlets.

As a key member of the team, your responsibilities will include:

· Managing a caseload offering Advocacy and Advice to D/deaf and Disabled people with a range of impairments. This includes seeing clients through virtual appointments as well as face to face appointments at Reals Offices, partner offices, GP surgery’s or as home visits.

· Promoting Advocacy and Advice across the borough

· Working within Real’s quality frameworks; Real holds the Quality Practice Mark for Advocacy and the Advice Quality Standard.

· Supporting the Coordinator with monitoring and evaluating the service and overall service delivery

Working under the guidance of the Advocacy Coordinator, you'll champion the rights of Disabled individuals, addressing issues spanning social care, housing, health, finances, and more.
