The Role 
 
As our Research Administration Assistant you will provide administration support for the Research and Services Team to ensure that Yorkshire Cancer Research supports high quality research and services that directly impacts the people of Yorkshire.

Supporting the Research Grants Manager, you will assist in running aspects of Award funding rounds, co-ordinating workshops to support wider initiatives and ongoing Awards management including accurate maintenance of records. 
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Work with the wider Research Funding team to provide administration support for all phases in research funding process to ensure we fund high quality and impactful research.

• Foster good relationships with the applicants, keeping them informed of further requests for information and changes as they occur. 

• Provide the administration support for a portfolio of research Awards, and where required service Awards. Co-ordinating award progress reporting and maintaining accurate records across the Award Management systems, ess to ensure we fund high quality and impactful research.

• Develop strong relationships with funded Award holders and serving as the main point of contact for any issues with Research Awards.

• Work across the Research and Services team to deliver successful meeting and workshop with external partners to support research funding initiatives and Patient and Public involvement (PPI).

• Support a variety of initiatives across the Research and Services Team as required. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be educated to A-Level or equivalent, or experience working in a similar position at a similar level.

• To have demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development 

• To have administration experience and experience of maintaining accurate records is essential.

• To have experience co-ordinating meetings, preparing paperwork and taking minutes.

• To have experience extracting information from a variety of sources to prepare suitable reports. 

• To have a high level of attention to detail, particularly in respect to maintenance of records.

• To have the ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

• To have excellent organisational skills, including time management skills, the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple complex projects. 

• To have IT skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and databases.

We're looking for an experienced, creative, and passionate Senior Youth Worker to join our amazing team at Peer Power Youth. You'll be responsible for leading, delivering and evaluating young people’s involvement in our creative ‘voice and influence’ projects, where you will co-create and work alongside young people in secure settings and the community. You will also have the chance to lead on a specialist area of work within the team.

You’ll be working alongside Youth Worker colleagues to develop strong, trusted and caring relationships with a cohort of young people, and you will ensure that activities are co-created, creative, safe, inclusive, and develop the skills and expertise of the young people involved. This is an exciting role where you'll be out and about working right alongside young people and colleagues to make real change both on an individual and system level!

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. The role will involve supporting the team in the day to day running of the service including the preparation of contract documentation (such as registration forms, as well as specified supporting evidence: ID proofs, Proofs of Address etc.) for submission to funding partners, uploading data spreadsheets and CMS systems, and supporting the team with promotion, outreach and engagement of our services. This includes conducting follow-ups and answering queries (by phone, email and in person) from both current and prospective participants on the programmes being delivered by High Trees. They will also be responsible for the preparation of finance related performance evidence for monthly/quarterly submission.

The successful applicant will have experience of providing efficient administrative support, be very organised and able to work to deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Must also be flexible and excited about being at the heart of a small but fast paced team which is committed to providing an excellent service to High Trees’ users.

The young people we support in this service are amazing, they are courageous, determined, and brave. These young people have often survived very difficult experiences and have often experienced high levels of violence in their lives. This can mean at times we have to work harder to secure their trust and build relationships with them. The post holder will assist in delivering the finance and administrative function under external statutory bodies' financial regulations and procedures and compliance requirements, while contributing to our students' educational journey at King's College London.

Summary of the Post

• To assist in delivering the finance and administrative function under external statutory bodies' financial regulations and procedures and compliance requirements. 
• To support the annual audit process with external auditors.
• To support preparing accurate, compliant, and complete management accounts, financial statements, and other information promptly.

Main Tasks 

• Routine Finance Operations
• Dealing with day-to-day purchase invoices and reconciling to purchase order

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

The Communications Intern is a member of the Development and External Affairs team. Their key focus is enabling impactful content production and championing high communications standards. The comms intern will report to the Communications and Publicity Manager and will support the development of a consistent and effective brand story that engages and unites both our external and internal audiences.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week). 9-month fixed term contract.
• The salary for the role will be £23,850 (starting salary will depend on skills and experience).

• Support with digital channel optimisation including PPC, SEO, social media (paid and organic).

• Contribute to the operational success of CSE by assisting the team with administrative and organisational duties as necessary. Collaborate with all teams to ensure cohesive delivery of our brand story across the organisation and through all communications.
• Collaborate with teams to monitor brand health, analyse audience insights, and refine our communications strategy.
• Ensure content strategy and resulting core content (incl. image library management, print production, core content, copywriting, designed asset production, and management) is up to date, consistent with our brand guidelines, of high quality and readily available for use by the CSE teams.

The London Programme Coordinator will be responsible for managing a caseload of up to seven partner schools, attending and coordinating weekly tutoring sessions, developing relationships with pupils, school staff and volunteer tutors and collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. This role plays a crucial part in overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring sessions to ensure effective and impactful programme delivery. 

Duties and responsibilities 

• Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage and effectively communicate with all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; leading weekly face to face and online tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
• Responsible for overseeing the quality of both face to face and online tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery.  
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers.
• Update and maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and end of programme surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators.

Qualifications and experience criteria:

• Experience working with volunteers and/or young people
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Evidence of ability to prioritise and manage administrative tasks

Reports to: London Programme Manager

Salary: £26,368 + £2,271 London weighting per annum

Contract and hours:  Permanent, full time contract (37.5 hours)
